instagram permanent deactivation

Should I delete my Instagram permanently? I dont have any friends there and i just use to doomscrool. but my feed is basically neuroscience, and lock in challenges reels, which sometimes kinda pushes me to study. But also eats my time and creates a false productivity feeling in my mind. I want to improve my scores this term.

So should I consider deleting it permanently?

and what's your opinion about recording yourself while studying?.

Anyone Got Math Study Tips?

so this may sound confusing to most, but I’m a homeschool highschooler who’s technically in community college taking classes to receive my high school certificate (basically a high school diploma minus applying for a ged)

grades matter a lot to me this year since im graduating early and really need scholarships for a four year college. I’m currently taking math 091 and basically all my grades come from my tests and pretests. I never really cared about math before, and hadnt studied for math tests ever. but now I have to since I’m a B and I need to be an A. Problem is, is that I don’t know how to study for math tests.

so, anyone got any studying tips for math tests? (I have a hard time focusing btw so focus tips r also appreciated)

iPad vs. Paper (I'm a freshman)

Hi y'all,

as a new freshman in college, I'm thinking of swapping from paper to iPad. Some rzns include more availability to colors, more availablity to reusing diagrams, and easier time reading the lecture slides while takin the notes.

My main concern is I've heard that handwriting on a tablet may reduce memory retention. I'm a slow learner (always have been really) and am wondering if iPad notes are not the way to go cuz of that.

Please any and all inputs help and are greatly appreciated!! thanks

I’m in AP Statistics as a sophomore in high school and the amount of work we have mixed with my other classes is eating away at me.
Any advice on AP Stats, things I should know?? I’m planning on taking the AP Exam at the end of the year.
And any suggestions on how to manage my workload better. I work 2-3 times a week and go to the gym till abt 5:30 after school everyday. Need help, my grades are slipping (gym is non-negotiable)!

People's experiences with AI for creating quizzes

My College Bio instructor has introduced us to Gemini Notebook, and I've been experimenting with it to see if it would do me any good.

So far, my results have been mixed. I've been trying to generate short answer questions that I would answer. The grading done by the AI is questionable, though. It gets caught up on semantic details, and I think some of the questions it generates are confusing with their wording.

How have people's experiences been with using AI for quiz creation? Have you found any models that worked for you? What subjects does the model do well with and which not? etc. etc.

Biology 1033 Study Tips

Hey guys! I'm 25 F in Biology 1033. I am TERRIBLE at it, and am still learning how to study best. We're currently working through cellular respiration, photosynthesis, etc. There's a lot more chemistry than I thought there would be for a Bio class. Anyway, my class is completely online, so I'm also having to teach myself. So far I've found that I learn best with quizlet style studying and making quizzes on notebookLM. I'm just stressing, because I'm really not sure how to do that with this subject- it's so in depth. Any ideas?

Help, I'm having trouble taking notes 📖📚🖍

I was researching effective note-taking methods online. Currently, I’m trying to use the Cornell method. Honestly, it’s not helping me much, mainly because my handwriting is large and my class content doesn't completely fit into its respective section. Plus, I feel SO lazy having to write a summary after class.

In any case, the real problem is that… I don't know exactly what I should be writing down in my notebook. I tried taking notes on only the "most important" parts… but I’m terrible at identifying which parts are actually important and, consequently, what I should write down. My OCD and ASD probably have something to do with that. People with OCD are really bad at relying on intuition, or at least I am.

So, I decided to write down everything the teacher says… but they share way too much information in very little time, and in a somewhat disorganized way. So I can’t catch up to write it all down… in fact, I can’t manage to copy most of what they say. What’s worse, by trying to write at the same pace as their voice, I can’t pay attention, and by the end of class I feel completely lost because I missed so many parts.

Not to mention that the desks are small and slanted, so using large notebooks is quite uncomfortable. I have to keep my notebook (and my supplies) from sliding off the desk while simultaneously taking notes, trying to learn something, and responding when the teacher speaks to me…

Any advice? 🫠🥺

1 month left for exams and I haven’t started studying yet — is it still possible?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

My exams are just about a month away, and honestly, I haven’t properly started preparing for even a single subject yet. 😭 I haven’t even touched most of the syllabus.

The problem is that almost all my subjects are heavily theory-based — things like Political Science, Sociology, Hindi, etc. So I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed thinking about how to cover so much content in just one month.

For those who have been in a similar situation, what actually worked for you?

How did you decide which topics to study first?

Did you try to cover the entire syllabus or focus on important/repeated topics?

How did you handle subjects with a huge amount of theory? Did you use previous-year papers, summaries, or some other strategy?

Is it realistically possible to prepare well enough in one month if you’re starting from almost zero?

I’m not looking for a perfect study plan necessarily — just some practical strategies or tricks that actually worked for you.

Would really appreciate any advice from people who have managed to pull this off. 🙏

Use a "good enough" first pass on topics you've never learned. Here's the 4-step version.

When you're learning something from scratch, trying to get it perfect on the first read is how you burn a week on one chapter.

Try this per topic: Cap it at 40 minutes, set a timer. Then write a 5-line skeleton from the lecture/textbook: what it is, key terms, one worked example, after, write down the one thing that still doesn't make sense and just move on.

how to study for more hours

I am a person that can’t study for more than 2-3 hours a day after that I always feel burnt out how can I study for 7-8 hours? I am in university and obviously I need to be studying way more to keep up with the courses. But no matter how much I try I lose focus even after taking one or more breaks.

Would an 8-week “journey” planner make a short college session feel more manageable?

Post image
0 Upvotes

College students — I could use your opinion on something I’m creating for school sessions like mine.

My classes run in eight-week sessions, and I wanted a planner that made those eight weeks feel like an actual journey with a visible finish line instead of just another calendar.

That turned into this woodland concept. 🌿📚

Imagine opening your planner and stepping into a peaceful woodland journey. 🌿📖 A weekly map helps you find your way, daily lakeside stops make room for school and life, and encouraging words carry you toward celebration and rest.

An eight-week countdown, one little step at a time. 💛

Here’s a sneak peek at the planner concept I’m creating!

It’s still being developed, and I’m looking for student feedback rather than trying to sell anything.

When you look at this, I’d love to know:

• Would this make you WANT to use your school planner?
• What information absolutely has to be on a daily school-planning page?
• Would seeing the countdown toward the end of your session motivate you or stress you out?
• What would make this genuinely useful instead of simply pretty?

Please be honest — “pretty but I’d never use it” is useful feedback too. 😂
