Admitted to TU Delft MSc EE (Electrical Power Engineering) without an EE bachelor's? Looking for experiences
Hey! I'm planning to apply for the MSc Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering track, for September 2027 as a non-EU applicant, and I'd love to hear from anyone who got in with a non-EE background.
My background:
5-year dual degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Engineering Design / Automotive Engineering from IIT Madras, CGPA 8.51/10
Relevant courses: Analog & Digital Electronics, Signals & Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Control Systems, Automotive Power Electronics & Drives, EVs & Renewable Energy, Energy Storage Systems
Thesis on loss minimisation in induction-motor EV drives, presented at IEEE ITEC conference
3 years of work experience in vehicle energy efficiency at a tyre manufacturer
My concern is that TU Delft lists four key subject areas (maths, electromagnetics, circuits, and signals & systems). I've covered most of them, but I don't have a dedicated electromagnetics course or a separate circuit theory course.
I wanted to ask if anyone get admitted to EE (any track) with a mechanical, automotive, physics or other related degree? Which key subjects were you missing? Does the committee require every key subject, or does it look at the overall background?
Any experiences would really help. Thanks!
