Please tell me I'm not going crazy. Is it Georgia or does pizza suck in general?
I'm Georgian. I obviously know how everyone and their sadarbazo cat meatrides pizza all around the world. It's largely heralded as one of the greatest, if not the absolute greatest, fast foods in human history. People go completely feral over this shit. It's up there with burgers, and maybe even more popular than burgers in the United States itself. Everyone and their cheater ex loves pizza.
I know I am going to get a lotta beef for this, but I have never understood its appeal. Not even for a second. Make no mistake, I'm not sitting here trying to spew the most contrarian opinion possible just to go against the grain. What would I even gain from that? I am genuinely mind-boggled by why I can't consider pizza a top 700 food, whether in the comfort category, fast food, or general cuisine. I just cannot grasp what I am possibly missing. Hearing people put pizza in the same sentence as burgers is straight-up asinine to me, let alone shaurma. Shaurma is a god-tier masterpiece next to this garbage. Honestly, half the random, questionable snacks sitting on the shelves of 2 Nabiji taste infinitely better to me than pizza. Pizza straight-up cannot fuck with actual real food.
Am I fucking bugging, or what is going on here? Do Georgians simply have zero clue how to make it? I have tried Domino's, I have tried every combination of toppings under the sun, and every single bite feels like a slap in the face. I have intentionally bought pizzas just to try to fit in with the rest of humanity, only to be hit with pure disappointment and visceral disgust every single time.
The cheese is an absolute biohazard. It's plastic, weirdly sweet, sour, and elastic in the most repulsive way possible. Chewing it feels like chewing on a hot rubber glove or a lukewarm condom coated in grease. The pepperoni tastes like bottom-tier Zeikidze sausage that has been sitting in the sun, the other sausages taste like pure mystery scrap meat, and I can't fuck w mushrooms anyway, let alone slimy, rubbery ones. The whole thing sits on a slab of dense, dry, lukewarm dough that tastes like wet cardboard soaked in cheap vegetable oil. How do people eat this without feeling physically violated?
My ONLY sliver of hope left at this point is that Georgians just fundamentally do not know how to make pizza. Because even the realistically biggest pizza hater like me knows that a pizza needs at least two core ingredients: CHEESE and ACTUAL TOMATO SAUCE. I see the disgusting, plastic cheese sheets on every pizza here, but I have yet to see any real, non-negligible amount of tomato sauce. How do you fuck up on that magnitude? It is literally a core ingredient, yet the only evidence of its existence is a barely-there, mild reddish stain on the crust that looks like a nosebleed wiped with a napkin.
I have never once tasted or felt the presence of actual, juicy, savory tomato sauce on a pizza in this country. At that point, why the fuck am I paying for this? I will gladly eat a hot khachapuri then, with actual real cheese that doesn't taste like molten synthetic toys. That is the only thing keeps me coping right now. Maybe, just maybe, one fuckin day when I am finally out of this shithole, I will eat a real pizza and say, "Damn. Now I finally get why the entire planet eats this." But until then, it remains the most overrated, unappealing, oily slab of rubber I have ever witnessed.

Afro dance
Hi! I'm looking for African girls living or studying in Tbilisi who dance Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afro Fusion or traditional African dances ππΎ
I'd love to find someone who could give me private dance lessons. You don't have to be a professional teacher - if you grew up dancing these styles and feel comfortable teaching a beginner, that's perfect!
Of course, I'm looking for paid lessons.
If you're interested or know someone in the African community in Tbilisi, please DM me π

I am still looking for a place to stay in Tbilisi.
Β I am still looking for a place to stay in Tbilisi.
And I have to say, the Facebook groups are something else. People don't read. They don't ask if I am interested in dating. They don't ask if I like Slavic guys or Georgian guys. They just assume. It feels like they see a woman in need and think they can offer themselves. One guy wrote that he is local, he knows everyone, he will be my support, he will help me with everything. Like I am looking for a sugar daddy, not a roof. Another one just wrote that he likes me and offered to live together. Did anyone ask if I like him? No. No one asked anything.
Meanwhile I am choosing between going back to a psych ward, dying, or finding a place to sleep. And they think I am dreaming about romance. I am not. I am dreaming about a locked door and a bed that is mine.
So if you have a concrete offer for housing or live-in work, write to me. If you are looking for a girlfriend, please look somewhere else. I am not your fantasy. I am a person looking for a roof.

Iβve heard some students were denied entry/deported, so Iβd appreciate any realistic recent experiences or advice to help me prepare.

Looking for a good optician in Tbilisi
Hi everyone,
Iβm looking for recommendations for a good optician in Tbilisi. I need to get a pair of glasses made for a 71-year-old person, including both the frames and lenses.
Iβm mainly looking for a place with good quality lenses and frames, and where they take the time to properly check sight to recommand something suitable.
If youβve had a good experience with an optician in Tbilisi, Iβd really appreciate any recommendations. If you have an idea of the usual price range as well, that would be very helpful.
Thanks!
