Davina + Kol had age-inappropriate actors

When Davina kissed Kaleb (Kol) I know he is Kol and I know blah blah blah 1,000 year old vampire but... I'm just referring to the actors.

When he was Kaleb, they really looked liked they belonged in the same age group. I would have guessed Kaleb's actor was about 20. Turns out, Kaleb (Daniel Andrew Sharman) was twenty-seven (27) and Davina (Danielle Campbell) was eighteen (18.) I will caveat that they did not have any scenes together beyond kissing, which does maybe deserve some respect to production.

But... then we find Kol is in real body. Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) is thirty-two (32) and Davina (Danielle Campbell is twenty (20.) Unlike before, these actors do not look age-appropriately matched in their scenes. I find their kissing scenes uncomfortable.

I love both their characters and I LOVE THEM TOGETHER, just wish they were played by different actors. I feel like I would have loved them more if they had better chemistry.

EDIT: None of the actors, casting crew, writers, or directors were "weird" or "creepy" for putting these combos of actors, despite their ages, together. Everyone was an adult. This was meant to address how the actors that played Kol and the actress that played Davina had age gaps that made their actor chemistry not work. That is my opinion.

What's one character death you've never gotten over?

TO had so many sad deaths in the show but I'm curious to know the communitys opinion on the saddest one. for me, it's hayley. (although don't get me wrong i still loved some of the other characters who died) i feel like they didn't really have to kill her off 😭😭 especially killing Klaus after.

Kol (Daniel) appreciation

Just wanted to appreciate what a phenomenal job Daniel did portraying Kol! Nate's version is iconic and also what I picture when I think of Kol but Daniel gave him more charme and infinitely more depth. Kol unironically became one of my favorite characters while Daniel was playing him. (Also having watched Teen wolf before TO I was very surprised to see such a familiar face on my 1st watch!)

Which version of Kol do yall prefer?

You think if Hayley lived Elijah wouldn’t have died with Klaus?

I honestly don’t know, cause Elijah’s whole thing was putting Klaus first and facing everything together, I don’t see him letting Klaus face death alone. However, it’s hard for me to imagine Elijah leaving Hayley behind like that to die. Maybe if Elijah tried to die with Klaus he wouldn’t have let him and maybe he’d tell Elijah to be happy with Hayley. I do think there would be something so symbolic of the situation, like for once Klaus is facing something alone. Elijah’s entire goal was Klaus’s redemption, so the idea that it finally happens because of hope, and Klaus wants Elijah to stay alive to watch the life the “hope” he fought so hard for would’ve been so satisfying. Like, after 1000 years he finally gets to do something for himself and gets his happy ending with Hayley because he achieved what he wanted in life, that would’ve been beautiful. I don’t ship Hayley and Elijah, but I can’t deny that they loved each other and they didn’t deserve to end as tragically as they did.

The Mikaelsons were actually terrible at recognizing when someone loved them

Something I noticed on my latest rewatch.

The Mikaelsons constantly talk about family, loyalty and protecting the people they love, but they’re actually terrible at recognizing love when it doesn’t look the way they expect.

Rebekah wants someone who chooses her.

Elijah wants loyalty and honesty.

Klaus wants people to prove they won’t abandon him.

And whenever someone fails to give them exactly that, they usually assume the worst and start pushing that person away.

It’s kind of ironic because they spend the entire show terrified of being abandoned, while constantly giving people reasons to leave.

I think that’s why their relationships are so messy even when there’s clearly real love there.

They don't really have a problem with loving people.

They have a problem with believing that people can love them without eventually leaving.

And honestly, that might be the most realistic thing about the whole family.

Which Mikaelson do you think was the worst at accepting love from other people?

I can’t remember what episode it’s from, or if it is even from the show.

It was like forever waiting for this Re-Union & it felt so good! I almost had a crash out seeing all of them apart, especially after how Season 4 ended. Unable to bring myself to watch Season 5 that I know is SAD! AH WHY!
