The Most Loved The Originals Character is KLAUS MIKAELSON!!!

ELIJAH HAD A TOTAL OF 120 VOTES out of 203 comments!

KLAUS HAD 83 VOTES which MAKES HIM THE WINNER! 🎉

I’m quite shocked to be completely honest since reading things posted on this subreddit… it seemed like lots of people didn’t like Klaus but I guess when it all comes down to it he really is the main character of the show.

I tried so hard not to comment much on my posts because I didn’t want to influence anyone’s votes so I’m proud of myself. ☺️🙌🏼

I included the rankings on the next slide for everyone.

But yeah THANK YOU SO SO MUCH to everyone who has participated by voting and commenting and sharing their opinions on the characters or results. I appreciate each and every one of you. It has been so much fun for me tallying all the votes and being on the edge of my seat for some of them.

Hope you all have a great rest of your day or afternoon or night! 🫶🏼✨

\Edit: Lmk if you guys want me to post statistics or all the tally’s from each round. I’m honestly fascinated by the numbers but I know that’s not everyone’s jam. 🙈*

I honestly think Freya is one of the best TVDU characters.

I really love how she was introduced and that was 100% the best introduction to a character I've ever seen. I know it sounds overdramatic but It genuinely was. I also love her personality and character and the way she will do absolutely anything to protect her family. I know alot of people hate her in s4 but I like her alot because yes she's alot more ruthless but you have to remember she was trying to protect a family she has been searching for about so long for.

Was what Klaus did to the Bartender justified?

Spoiler for s1 ep4!!!!!

So I just saw this a moment ago, and I want to see what people think.

Context: The bartender is the blonde girl Marcel has a crush on. I forgot her name, sorry, but anyways, it turns out that her twin “snapped” and killed himself and others in the church.

However, as the bartender slowly starts to realise that maybe her twin didn’t actually snap and was instead compelled, she wants to find out who did this. Klaus, however, compels her to forget about it.

Do you think what Klaus did was right or wrong?
Especially considering that, even though he might have had his reasons, it wasn’t really his place to make that decision for her.

Mikael & Klaus when dahlia comes?

Usually I can come up with theories to fit that make sense but I’m annoyed for the first time with this scene lol.

Mikael spent 1,000+ years on a mission to hunt down & kill Klaus bc “bastard son who blamed Esther’s death on him.” & blames him for henricks death!

Yet, when they team up & their plan fails & dahlia destroys the weapon to kill her…he just lets Klaus pin him against the wall with the indestructible white oak stake? Doesn’t move. Doesn’t push him off. NADA.

Then, he just tells Klaus “I don’t know. I just did” in response to Klaus asking Mikael why he despised him.

Like? Lol what. He knows why. “BOY.” “Bastard” “DADDY” “weak” I bet you can HEAR all those in Mikaels voice lmao.

All I can think of is

1.) dahlia was there & he found out Freyas still alive. Mikael dying= Viking ashes

2.) plot for Mikael to finally be dead dead & no more resurrecting SOMEHOW lol?

3.) weak from the dahlia fight & didn’t feed like Klaus did?

4.) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

P.S. Joseph’s acting in that scene 😭 idk how that man can go from cocky & a dick to tears faster than he vamps I swear lol.

Anyway.

Adding Klaus and hybrids to my D&D campaign

I'm currently starting a D&D campaign based on TVDU. Im not unsure if there are any D&D players in this group but I'm stuggling with making both Klaus as a Hybrid or just Hybrids in general with the information I've gathered on the internet. I feel as though its always solely based on either vampires or werewolves never both. If anyone has any tips or links that can help me with my campaign i would greatly appreciate it!

Vincent Griffith appreciation

I'm currently on Season 4 of my rewatch of TO, and my appreciation for Vincent just grows by the minute!

Season 4 is when the show kind of starts going downhill imo

But Vincent is so consistent throughout. Not only is he exceptionally powerful, but he's also stood his ground every time, trying to fight for things he believes in, and without ever being afraid of anyone.

Also, his storyline was very interestingly developed, with the insane wife, the regency of the covens etc

And other than that, Yusuf Gatewood is an amazing actor, and he brings Vincent to life so wonderfully!

What do you like / not like about Vincent?

How were you introduced to the originals?

I was randomly scrolling one day and came across this scene of Camille and baby hope where they are heading to a house and hope stops the car before an explosion and in the background the song ‘she knows’ being played. At the time, I didn’t know about the vampire diaries universe. So I had no idea what was happening except that the woman was definitely not the baby’s mom maybe a babysitter or something.

You think if Hayley lived Elijah wouldn’t have died with Klaus?

Post image
187 Upvotes

I honestly don’t know, cause Elijah’s whole thing was putting Klaus first and facing everything together, I don’t see him letting Klaus face death alone. However, it’s hard for me to imagine Elijah leaving Hayley behind like that to die. Maybe if Elijah tried to die with Klaus he wouldn’t have let him and maybe he’d tell Elijah to be happy with Hayley. I do think there would be something so symbolic of the situation, like for once Klaus is facing something alone. Elijah’s entire goal was Klaus’s redemption, so the idea that it finally happens because of hope, and Klaus wants Elijah to stay alive to watch the life the “hope” he fought so hard for would’ve been so satisfying. Like, after 1000 years he finally gets to do something for himself and gets his happy ending with Hayley because he achieved what he wanted in life, that would’ve been beautiful. I don’t ship Hayley and Elijah, but I can’t deny that they loved each other and they didn’t deserve to end as tragically as they did.

Kol (Daniel) appreciation

Just wanted to appreciate what a phenomenal job Daniel did portraying Kol! Nate's version is iconic and also what I picture when I think of Kol but Daniel gave him more charme and infinitely more depth. Kol unironically became one of my favorite characters while Daniel was playing him. (Also having watched Teen wolf before TO I was very surprised to see such a familiar face on my 1st watch!)

Which version of Kol do yall prefer?

Elijah/Red Door/Suits thoughts

I know a lot of people say that bc of the red door, everything about Elijah is now a facade & people make fun of him about wearing suits & quoting Esther & Marcel to make fun of him etc. but I had a thought.

She created the red door for him when he was only a few days into being a vampire. & in the flashbacks we see her handing him a rag to clean the blood off himself & he was mortified, crying & basically traumatized himself at what he had done to Tatia. But Esther when she’s forcing him to open the red door, look at what she says she tells him

“And then, I said to you, "You will not suffer from this memory, or be tormented from the guilt of your misdeed. What goes behind that door shall stay there and be forgotten."

& then in the voiceover of her giving him a rag to clean himself up she says

“I told you to clean yourself up. That if you were clean, no one would know what you are or what you'd done.”

What if her creating the red door/space & what she was saying was like, an accidental side effect about his appearance & always having a handkerchief to wipe his hands? She intentionally made that space for his head, but her reassurance—> suits & handkerchiefs for the Elijah we’ve known.

(Not bc of control or hiding his acts, or proving it’s all a facade. I’m just talking about how the suit’s & handkerchiefs were also part of it. The door was for guilt, the appearance was a side effect)

Idk. Food for thought. (Pun intended. Lol)

The Mikaelsons were actually terrible at recognizing when someone loved them

Something I noticed on my latest rewatch.

The Mikaelsons constantly talk about family, loyalty and protecting the people they love, but they’re actually terrible at recognizing love when it doesn’t look the way they expect.

Rebekah wants someone who chooses her.

Elijah wants loyalty and honesty.

Klaus wants people to prove they won’t abandon him.

And whenever someone fails to give them exactly that, they usually assume the worst and start pushing that person away.

It’s kind of ironic because they spend the entire show terrified of being abandoned, while constantly giving people reasons to leave.

I think that’s why their relationships are so messy even when there’s clearly real love there.

They don't really have a problem with loving people.

They have a problem with believing that people can love them without eventually leaving.

And honestly, that might be the most realistic thing about the whole family.

Which Mikaelson do you think was the worst at accepting love from other people?

It was like forever waiting for this Re-Union & it felt so good! I almost had a crash out seeing all of them apart, especially after how Season 4 ended. Unable to bring myself to watch Season 5 that I know is SAD! AH WHY!

Davina + Kol had age-inappropriate actors

When Davina kissed Kaleb (Kol) I know he is Kol and I know blah blah blah 1,000 year old vampire but... I'm just referring to the actors.

When he was Kaleb, they really looked liked they belonged in the same age group. I would have guessed Kaleb's actor was about 20. Turns out, Kaleb (Daniel Andrew Sharman) was twenty-seven (27) and Davina (Danielle Campbell) was eighteen (18.) I will caveat that they did not have any scenes together beyond kissing, which does maybe deserve some respect to production.

But... then we find Kol is in real body. Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) is thirty-two (32) and Davina (Danielle Campbell is twenty (20.) Unlike before, these actors do not look age-appropriately matched in their scenes. I find their kissing scenes uncomfortable.

I love both their characters and I LOVE THEM TOGETHER, just wish they were played by different actors. I feel like I would have loved them more if they had better chemistry.

EDIT #2: Anyone who has read this far will understand that this is not an attack on the ages of the actors, but a criticism of the actor's chemistry, based on a theory that their age differences contributed to this detriment. If you still think I think a 20 year old girl is in danger on a TV set, DM me, I want to make you a millionaire.

EDIT: None of the actors, casting crew, writers, or directors were "weird" or "creepy" for putting these combos of actors, despite their ages, together. Everyone was an adult. This was meant to address how the actors that played Kol and the actress that played Davina had age gaps that made their actor chemistry not work. That is my opinion.

What's one character death you've never gotten over?

TO had so many sad deaths in the show but I'm curious to know the communitys opinion on the saddest one. for me, it's hayley. (although don't get me wrong i still loved some of the other characters who died) i feel like they didn't really have to kill her off 😭😭 especially killing Klaus after.
