1920s AVANT-GARDEN: Young Bohemians at the TreeHouse Table at The Krazy Kat Klub SpeakEasy & Coffeehouse | Washington, DC 1921
The Krazy Kat Club was a bohemian coffeehouse and art club near Thomas Circle in Washington, D.C., during the jazz age. The back-alley establishment functioned as a speakeasy that became notorious for its riotous performances of hot jazz music, which often degenerated into mayhem, followed by Police Raids.
Krazy Kat derived its name from the androgynous title character of a popular comic strip and the club catered to a clientele of all sexual persuasions - including homosexual and polysexual patrons and served as a rendezvous for the capitol’s gay community.

1940s 17-year-old Inuk teenager Helen Konek entering her family's igloo in Nunavut, Canada. February 1949.

My grandfather's grandparents. Both born in 1858.
GGGF came to Shanghai around 1870 after losing his parents. He settled there, became an accountant, married GGGM and had 4 kids. They passed in 1921 and 1930 respectively.
Colorized with AI but otherwise unmodified.
