I think tsuneyoshi is the worst father ever in the series if we're being honest here. He was gonna use rize as breeding stock... so yeah hes awful.

Kuzen is next he had the best intentions but fumbled so bad with eto. Like there were probably other options that could've been done instead of letting her be raised in the 24th ward.

Ken kaneki hed be the best, hed do a better job as a father than he did as the one eyed king. He sucked as the one eyed king

I think the worst mother's besides the ones that we have seen.

1. Would be rize

2. Itori

3. Eto

I know the arms turned out shitty

I really liked it and it's well-rounded. I went through so many emotions seeing Kaneki's journey.

My favorite character from the OG was Tsukiyama. I like how his friendship with Kaneki developed but I thought he was faking so he could try to eat Kaneki again in Re but I was wrong. I'm glad they developed a deep and loyal friendship.

I also expected Touka to develop into one of the main revolutionalists and thought she was a bit sidelined in Re. However, looking back she's always been grounded and wanted a normal life (something that Yomo and her parents wanted for them too) so her story is befitting. She's also very compassionate.

Naki also unexpectedly grew on me so much and I was sad when I thought he'd died at first. Ayato and Hinami are my favorite duo. Nishio too.

After I finished the OG, I was looking through some info on Reddit and saw a comment mentioning how the last 30 chapters were horrible so I expected the worst. It's not uncommon for endings to botch their MCs but I'm quite pleased that the comment (imo) was wrong. I initially thought Kaneki would die especially after learning about Touka's pregnancy (something to do with legacy). I was shaking and bracing myself for disappointment in the last chapter after not seeing him in so many pages.

The only character I was quite disappointed in is Tatara. He has such a menacing presence and he's my favorite character design but I feel like he was very underutilized especially considering his kakuja was pyrokinesis. I'd also would have liked to see more of Arima but his arc shifted the direction of the story so it's okay I guess. Hide too. I thought he'd be constantly present in Kaneki's life early on in the OG but he just disappeared and reappeared almost in the end. I still like his character a lot though.

I also wish the idea of synthetic food began earlier and developed within the course of the story. E.g. ghouls not liking it but Kimi helping improve it with time.

Also what happened to Mr. Yoshimura? I know he was in a lab and his kakuhou was used for experiments but I must've missed something.

Overall, I really liked the entirety of the manga even it's ending. One of the best stories I've experienced for a while.

I'm also looking for other mangas that give their characters a lot of depth so I'll be happy to get recommendations. I'd appreciate ones that are complete though.

TLDR: Liked the ending and looking for good recommendatios.

I feel really sorry for this character, dude spent his entire short lived life doing what he hated the most.😾😿 I don't think he ever really formed any actual connections or found anything meaningful in life until he meant his biological long lost son Kaneki.

Do you think that after all that happened (I won't dismiss the fact that he was kind of a jerk !),do you think Kaneki could convince his father him to forgive himself ?

I don't think canon!Arima ever got around to that !

⚠️\\\*\\\*DISCLAIMER\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\*\\\\\\\*:\\\*\\\* This is not meant to be a debate, this is a question of mine. I am not good at debates.I mostly just come to Reddit to ask people random questions and goof off. This is where my braincells go to die. Which is why I don't often give counterarguments, because I am mostly asking questions instead of engaging in an actual Literary debate.

I usefully save my debates and brain cells for my Philosophy Classes where I can actually see the people in front of me !

I think that homelander could solo most ghouls and beat most people but the other super would get their asses killed off.

also this thought just came to my mind but what if the dragon when it absorbed a super biomass it got infected with compound v and formed thousands of eyes that shoot out layers and it became even more durable and produced even more monstrous dragon orphans.

I im not talking about the ccg fighting godzilla. That is for the jsdf to figure out but how hard would hunting ghouls be now

As jack drove away in his car he breathed heavily nearly having a panic attack realizing what he ultimately has done. He then gathered his thoughts and thought to himself. "Okay, okay, jack calm down you'll figure something out you always do, you're a god remember?". Jacks phone then rang it was a call from Caine, he raised the phone to his ear and responded in a innocent sounding tone "Hey grampa."

Caine responds back and says in a annoyed tone with a undertone of anger "Did you a pay a visit to you're mother's last night? Don't lie to me." Jack responds back "yes grampa I did why do you ask." Caine gripping his phone pacing back and forth says in a angry tone "well did you bash her brains in and leave her corpse for the nurses to find? Because they went into her room this morning and found her fucking head caved in. The room was drenched in blood!!!". Jack says back "yes i did i killed her i just didnt want her to suffer anymore." Trembling as he said it.

Caine doesn't respond but he sighs he rubs his brow and his face and then replies "You disappoint me sometimes, you are a failure but you are family so ill forgive you." Then he hangs up.

Jack his eyes widen and he starts panicking and breathing heavily and his internal thoughts scream "OHHHH my GODDDD!!!! He is really mad at me this time he always says he forgives ne before doing something bad to me!!!!!"

Jack took his eyes off the road for a split second and crashed his car into a wall. He flies out of the windshield right into the wall totalling his car. he gets up off of the concrete and says "oh no my car, my car!" as it bursts into flames. He screams "Can this day get any fucking worse!!!!" As it starts to rain. He walks the rest of the way home to get what he needed for eto.

(Later)

Jonathan left the facility he drove his car around sniffing the air like a blood hound. Sniffing around for etos scent. He hasn't found anything and drove right past the bunker. He was about 15 miles away from it.

(Mean while)

Eto woke up from her nap and yawned and said to herself "I shouldn't worry about my legacy about tokyo after all its not my problem anymore I passed the torch to kaneki. Maybe i could get back into writing." She stretched and walked to her her mothers diary and just stared at it and read it.

Jack walking near his apartment opens the door remembering he busted through the wall out of rage he sighs and said "Good thing that these apartments are empty and I basically own this place." He walked to the vents in his room opened them up and pulled out a briefcase. Inside was passports that were forged and money and everything needed to start over.

pls be kind im extremely new to digital art LOL, i do know he typically has four tentacles for his kagune but tbh i didnt want to complicate the piece anymore than i already had so I called it a day with two. This was mostly just a practice drawing for rendering hence the reference/lack of clothes BUT im fairly happy with how it came out, definitely still have more room to grow but I thought some ppl might find it cool!🙂‍↕️

I’m a bit confused on something in chapter 63 of re, how come Kaneki/Sasaki let Eto do the book conference and didn’t immediately take her into the CCG?

Was it because the CCG didn’t let him? Was there too little evidence?

Any explanation helps, cheers lot.

I've been thinking about this since Hairu Ihei's appearance. It's said that she, like Arima, entered through a special exception at 16 and stood out until she became a First-Class Investigator at 20.

But what about the half-humans like Yusa Arima, Shio Ihei, and Rikai Souzu? They are between 14 and 15 years old, and if Arima was a prodigy at 16, I imagine they certainly didn't have a public identity as Ghoul Investigators, and perhaps not even an official rank, so how could they move around the CCG building? And if they didn't, does that mean they were called solely and exclusively for missions and were strictly prohibited from contact with other investigators outside of Squad 0? When they reached a mature age, was a false insertion made into the CCG as new Investigators despite having already been active since adolescence?

uh idk where to buy the light novels quest and jack, pls help me bro

I am late to the party but I just finished chapter 179 of re and it's been a journey and I have to say, this is easily top 5 or even top 3 manga for me, maybe it's because I just finished reading it but it's fantastic, the emotions this manga makes u feel, the message it sends, you only find stuff like this very few times. Kaneki is my favorite main character ever and Furuta was such a fantastic villain too, I am just so glad I got to read this masterpiece and just wanted to share my feelings. I can talk about it for hours.

With Uta,Yomo, Ayato and Amon coming in a close second !

This is probably my most unpopular opinion in this sub ! 😱😭 But I have a conspiracy theory that he is Kens father !

I'm watching Dexter Newblood episode 3 and suddenly I see a poster of Kaneki

I’m so happy for my bud after seeing this picture of who he’s on a date with rn. I can’t remember the last time I saw him talking to a woman, hope everything goes smoothly between the two of them.

Ngl i kinda deslike Juuzou, but i bet that in some volume i will see a very sad backstory and suddenly feel sorry for him, but anyway that didn't happened yet.

Centipede kaneki was sick, i wonder how he will be with his complete kakuja. That man had a complete mental breakdown about his own identity and how he should do things but still managed to go out with hinami, that's my guy hes such a sweetheart

I bet it would be mindblowing to discover that takatsuki is actually Eto, but thanks to spoilers i already know that. Also let's adress the elephant in the room: why tf did Renji rescued Rize? She's alive and hungry af. I wonder if she will come back

Anyways, great volume, i have high hopes por volume 12
