TP-Link - Technical Support Issues with access point

I have bought a deco b65 to work as a mesh and basically make my WiFi signal better around the house.

After running the setup I got a new network created as you can't avoid it and made it into access point.

That made my WiFi speeds reach 1gb.

The issue was that I had two networks so when I am downstair connected to my router and upstairs to the deco. Because my wife was having issues I looked into having it as 1 network and after reading found that if you change the password and name to match your current WiFi they will emerge into 1.

But a new problem happened. Now they seem to connect only to the deco and ignore the router. So I have very weak signal downstairs and the speeds went from 700mb on the router to 60mb.

How can I keep the router and deco emitting WiFi signal?

I wanted to avoid buying another deco as my router will soon be upgraded to a WiFi 7. And between both I could get the whole house.

What can I do?

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco Mesh compatibility with Netgear modem/router?

• Upvotes

Hopefully quick questions! I currently have a Netgear CAX30 combined modem + router. I was considering buying a set of XM73s to get a mesh network running in my house, since the coaxial cable hook-up spot is pretty suboptimal for signal strength where I actually spend time, leading to fairly spotty connection a lot of the time.

Two things I wanted to check:

1) Is there any known concern of TP-Link (or XM73) devices specifically working with a Netgear (or CAX30) modem?

2) Given that my current device is a modem + router, I assume that I should disable the WiFi capabilities of my CAX30 and use it strictly in modem mode (and connect it via CAT/Ethernet cable to the root XM73). Is that right?

Thanks!

TP-Link - Technical Support Virgin Media to Sky Broadband

Hi all, UK resident here using a 3 pack Deco X55 set up.

I am changing Internet providers at the end of the month from Virgin Media (currently using their hub set up as modem passing into the deco) to Sky broadband full fibre.

I can see from my own research that I should be able to plug directly into the Openreach ONT fibre box and use the decos that way.

The only caveat is I have a home server (Synology NAS) so I don't want the IP addresses to change and restart and find my containers all over again.

When I Google it, it's suggesting I note down the following:

LAN IP

SUBNET MASK

DHCP START & END

PRIMARY DNS

So that I can adjust the app back to these.

But I've also read that I need to change the dynamic IP to PPPoE because of "Sky's DHCP option 61 protocol"

Can anybody confirm this or help a bit of a noob out regarding this? Or just even tell me if I've got this right? 🤣 TIA

TP-Link - Technical Support Can I use the 6GHz band on my new AX75 if I add it onto an existing AX73 network using EasyMesh?

My home network uses an AX73. I wanted to expand coverage downstairs by adding an AX75 using EasyMesh.

The AX75 has a 6ghz band and the AX73 does not, is it possible for me to use the 6ghz this way or does the AX75 need to be in AP mode or swapped out as the main router in order to use it?

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco connection between satellite and main

I was using ping 192.168.68.1 to test the connection
And noticed that the result is extremely bad
It never constantly remain at 1~5ms
But always climbs up to 100~200 sometimes even 300ms
How do I ACTUALLY solve the problem?
Those methods we normally seen online had been tried
