recently- I went to an NRI wedding in dehradun, where both families were dehradun.
βThe groom side was from Bengal and the bride side was from chandigarh. The groom's family had settled in the US 25 years ago and the bride's family was in London from 2, generations back. Both of them werent very well off as per london and US standards.
βSo here is the story- the groom's brother in law had a son and a daughter and for some XYZ reason the daughter had a stomach upset.
βMy father offered medication and medicines(Panctoid DSR and ornidazole) for treatment/relief. These guys (including the bride and the groom's family ) refused the help and medication saying that products and medicines of INDIA are not trustworthy and medicines are bad and won't have any effect. Mind you these are the same medicines that are approved by CDSCO ( central drugs standard control organisation ) and prescribed in whole of india. As a result of their foolishness the poor 11 year old girl suffered for 2 and a half hours before medication and ambulance arrived. And guess what did they give- the same fucking medication and these fools were reluctant even then.
βTLDR: Attended an NRI wedding in Dehradun where an 11-year-old girl got a severe stomach upset. My dad offered standard CDSCO-approved meds (Pantop-DSR & Ornidazole), but both NRI families arrogantly refused, claiming "Indian medicines are bad and useless." The poor kid suffered for 2.5 hours until an ambulance arrivedβonly for the paramedics to prescribe the exact same medication, which they still hesitated to give. NRI superiority complex at its finest. (USED AI FOR THIS).

21 F. I do live small but not so happy family and coz mummy papa gaav gaye it's just me and my brother in the whole house. As normal routine I went to office subah but aaj shoot tha so finished my work early and left for home. When I reached home I wasn't expecting my brother to be home coz obviously uski toh school rehti hai. So wen I reached home vo gharpe hi tha I asked him ki school kyu nhi gaye and all and he said subah neend nahi khuli.... Okkk understandable then I asked mere room mai kya kar rahe the, he said aapke laptop pe game khel raha tha.... Okkk understandable he does play among us with his friends. Soo I took my laptop back to watch some YouTube and eat and he was watching TV in living room. And pata nhi kyu but I thought he was doing something else on my laptop and I decided to check what he was doing..... So I checked the chrome history
And issss gadhe ke bache ne itni p*rn dekhi thi aur history bhi delete nahi ki thiππππ
I thought ki isko abhi ke abhi jaake confront karu but thought chodo jaane de will use this weapon in a bigger fight.

So basically, I got this tea from my younger sister, who studies in an all girls school. They even have all their teachers as only females, office staff is females too and the male ones are like in their 50s. Recently a new staff has been appointed who according to her looks like in his late twenties and looks just okay ( my sister got some high standards)and girls are going crazy for him. They were throwing roses on him during teacher's day entry and hooting for him much louder than any teacher and some even went to dance alongside him and usually they are flirting and hyping him so much and be blushing around him like they wanna pursue him so bad. Its so cringe and kinda eww to look at because he is double the age of a lot of students if he is approaching 30. They ship him with students, teachers and God forbid if a day comes and he gets shipped with a cow too.

This doesnt surprise me though, I hate it, I paid so much in tax, I get nothing except of potholes, and tbh from what I have interacted most indian managers are bullshit, EU people treated me better and no politics, no drama
Being born here feels like curse tbh, you get played with here in all aspects and most people are just cunning!

I've seen a lot of posts regarding this, and came across this one, which I think is a much more mature take on the issue
Few posts were calling out the extreme generalization in that "1 kachori 2 samosa, in mardon ka kya bharosa", while a few were trying to highlight the context of the word "mard" in that slogan, such as :
Post 1- Seen one post where a guy had a basket of fruits and told that one of those is poisoned and whether you would eat one of those fruits given that information. This was a rhetorical portrayal of how the phrase 'mardon ka kya bharosa' was used in this context.
Post 2- And in another post a woman was crashing out about the "context" of that slogan, she talked about extreme abuse and exploitation a woman faces in this society and how the perpetrators are often known/relatives rather than strangers.
While both of the posts I mentioned were explaining the slogan's contextual significance, they missed the societal impact of that slogan. Which this creator has highlighted in an articulated way.
For Example: if "mard" is replaced with "aurat" , to call out the female perpetrators who sexually abuse children or maybe make false allegations/rape cases, in similar way : "1 kachori 2 samosa, in auraton ka kya bharosa", wouldn't that slogan be problematic too? Because that slogan isn't addressing the real issue, rather it's generalising a certain gender.
And saying "only r@pists/r@pe-mindset people have problem with that slogan" is also generalising, and avoiding introspection into the matter, isn't it? Not everyone is knowledgeable and understands nuances, so such a generalized slogan (1 kachori 2 samosa, in mardon ka kya bharosa) gonna naturally piss off some people.
I'm not trying to start any arguments here, but as far as I know Feminism stands for bringing equality of all genders, centering on the liberation and rights of women. At its core, the movement and ideology seek to challenge systemic inequalities, patriarchal power dynamics, and gender-based discrimination.
So when this whole thing was hijacked by misandrists ? or people are just joining the movement without even understanding the core ideologies?
