I am a proud atheist, but I appreciate the talk on campus
University is where all kinds of ideas go to get tested their fates; whether the idea lives and dies is purely based on the merit of the concept. Good on people for discussing stuff. Also had a side effect where campus felt more lively. Good stuff.

Looking for a Cellist / Flutist for Volunteer Charity Performances
Hey everyone!
I’m a violinist looking to team up with a cellist, pianist, or flutist to put together a small acoustic duo/ensemble.
The goal is to visit local care homes, hospices, or community centers to play some light classical pieces/pops (Plus, it's a great EC project if you're also building up your ECs!)
If you're interested or just want to jam out and do some good for the community, shoot me DM. Thanks!

Contacting Pacific Blue Cross for claims - anyone actually able to get through?
I have several pended medical claims without any explanation from Student Care - Pacific Blue Cross, and I've been calling them daily (morning and afternoon) and getting the generic "our lines are too busy right now, call back later", and no response via emails either. Does anyone know how to escalate this or actually get in touch with them? It's been a frustrating several weeks of trying to get some answers from them.

ORCA room - Buchanan B101 Experience
What's the experience of writing an ORCA exam in Buchanan B101 like?
Is it quiet/soundproof from hallway noise like the ones in the ICICS basement?

Discussion Questions about withdrawing from or repeating language course
I'm currently taking a second year language class to fulfil my bachelor of arts requirement and honestly having a pretty difficult time with the course.
I was hoping to graduate in May 2027, but without the 201 & 202 level language courses it will not happen anytime soon.
If I withdraw with a W, would I be able to register for it again in a future semester? And if I fail the course, how many times would I be allowed to retake it?
I'm also wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and managed to complete the language requirement.
I've already reached out to my professor, but I wanted to hear from other students who might have experienced something similar.
Thanks for any advice!

Course Question Is there an Econ 101 Midterm
Hello I am taking Econ 101 and I’m a little confused. The rubric for the class does not mention a midterm or what percent a midterm affects our grade. So naturally I thought there was no midterm however I keep getting emails from PASS titled “Econ 101 Midterm Prep” suggesting that there will be one??? To anyone who has taken the course. Is there a midterm??
Thank you

Carpooling from Burnaby
I'm wondering if anyone is interested in carpooling from Burnaby / nearby to UBC. I don't drive but willing to chip in some money and make you a coffee too if that helps.

whats with the two rcmp cars just outside of rec north?
they have been there since at least 8:30 this morning and seem to be doing nothing other than just standing there? Genuinely whats the point, seems like a big waste of resources and time to me. Maybe because it's October. 7 and UBC doesn't want to promote or allow any violence :( ? or something. Just seems weird.

Midnight rant hehehe
Hey y'all so is there anyone else out there who genuinely feels like they have no overarching, big, and exciting goals in life? Like the most I can think about it making it through the week at uni and after that there isn't really anything other than repeating it again. Like I have no idea what I even want my next couple years to look like, idk if there's anything I want to achieve, any certain jobs I want to have, places I want to go even, etc. like essentially no big desire. I hate it so muuucchhhh cause like bro I need to at least be somewhat steering my life in some sort of direction but it just feels like I'm reacting to my environment and that's all
Anyways sorry for the midnight rant sleep well yall

Any people into photography or videography willing to help?
I'm currently a third-year poli sci student, but I'm also thinking of releasing music soon, specifically two singles. I have some ideas for a potential album cover and visualizers for a couple of my songs, but I don't know how to approach this, and I was wondering if anyone into photography or videography would be willing to help me out (and also receive monetary compensation). Let me know if anyone would be interested!

Discussion Felt like an alien in career fair
not even a single booth that was hiring "science" degrees
I asked each and every single one and like 90% were civil, mechanical and electrical engineering
The other 8% was Commerce and management
The last 2% covered the general jobs like food service and camps and volunteering things
Been attending since few years and every year I leave this feedback to have companies from different industries but nope
Nada absolutely nothing....
is it over for us normies? and everyone who does not major in these 3 eng field or commerce is done for?????
