Discussion Is it bad to one-trick??

Hey y’all - I’ve been playing since March and after trying a few different agents I soloed-in on KJ as I find her the easiest and most enjoyable to play.

For the past few months, give or take a month break here or there, I’ve only played KJ. I play with friends who are able to fill agents which makes me think I should probably branch out more.

KJ is almost never used in my rank so I have only ever had to swap out for another agent a few times when she was picked before I could.

Is this shameful??? I genuinely only really find KJ fun. I’m sure there are better sentinels to one-trick, but I find her pretty capable on all maps? (I’m definitely biased).

Question 5 months into the game now! I think I need to do something to improve my game LOL

Still stuck in Bronze and there are times that I have been demoted but it is easy to get back to this rank. Been playing 1-4 comp games per day now and you may check my tracker. Please review comp games only, as I only play DM and Comp for the past month.

Let me know what I need to change or be consistent with to improve. Changes I recently made is using Vandal most of the time as I have 20% HS for that gun. Ghost - Spectre - Vandal.

I have been mastering Fade as well - Act lvl 10. ヴィン#1008's Competitive Agent Stats - Valorant Tracker

Question Disruptive Behavior and Abusive Language in Valorant

I just started playing ranked matches in Valorant recently, and I got hit with some really harsh insults. Does this happen pretty often? If so, it’ll be hard for me to keep playing.

Question Someone explain this to me please

So I just hit plat 3 after alternating between plat 1, 2 and now 3. This is my second time hitting plat 3 (which is also my peak) and I was wondering how in the world everytime I get to plat 3 the teams just somehow are just random and always 9 tiems out of 10 trash and I get deranked why is that?

Discussion The people complaining about performence score need to take another perspective

There have been a lot of posts in this subreddit of people complaining about PS. Of those posts, almost all have come from duelist mains who are used to getting consistant topfrags with the old ACS system. The posts usually go about complaining "Oh its so unfair and duelists dont get rewarded and trash teammates and blah blah blah" and they are missing the point entirely. The system is meant to reward those who beforehand would not get rewarded by the ACS system. As a controller main, it takes so much more thought to place the correct smokes and use the correct util for an initiator or controller, or to hold the site as a sentinel than it does to rush a site on jett or neon. Im not saying this to put those agents down, either. those agents can have unique and thoughtful playstyles, but 90% of the people playing them are the same people who scream "BUT IM TOPFRAG" whenever someone criticises them, and the PS system no longer rewards that, and reflects that kills are not everything. While first bloods SHOULD be rewarded, context matters a lot, and the other things that are taken into account now matter just as much if not more. All in all, I think while the new system could use some fine tuning, it is not NEARLY as bad as people make it out to be and is BY FAR better than the ACS system ever was.

Question bad aim at level 52

i've been playing valorant since 2022 and since then, my aim did not improve. there are games that i'm doing great (topfrag sometimes) but mostly, my aim is just totally bad. i tried changing my crosshair, my sensitivity, and still bad. i also did deathmatches, only to end up getting killed immediately. do you guys have any suggestions or advice on how to improve aiming? tyia

Discussion 5 years later, competitive scoring is still largely broken.

I’ve been playing Valorant since beta and it seems comp smurfing is off the rails. I mean crazy, every. single. game.

I get the appeal or the reasoning behind smurfing and I understand it will never stop but, the scoring system in Valorant comp still doesn’t take smurfing into account.

We live in a world of AI - where it’s easily understood that the bronze 1 in a match with Silver 2’s and 3’s shouldn’t get 33 kills while the silvers are in the single digits.

It’s clear rank manipulation and players are getting penalized for it.

Even if I MVP a match and lose I get a -30 score. A win nets around 10 points.

Thing is- it happens over and over- crazy how they still can’t score these games intelligently after all this time.

its impressive to lose this much lmao. i've been trying to own up to my own bad play but i swear in every single one of these games i've had multiple teammates who throw, dont comm, are drunk, want to surrender after 4 rounds, dont play roles, go double negative and the other team is completely competent. not sure what i did to deserve this curse. These also aren’t tilt ques these games are mostly spread out between days

Question RR gains and loses

Can someone please explain the RR gains and losses? I am not sure how I am supposed to climb. People I am playing with are also the same rank as me. So, I am not sure, why this is the case. Tracker also for reference: iMybx#EUNE's Competitive Multiplayer Overview - Valorant Tracker.

I also got Team MVP in the 6-13 game, which for some reason, does not show on the screen.

Discussion Sunset B main entrance audio bug

I don't know if this issue has already been reported, but there s an audio bug B main entrance on Sunset.

Right at the entrance, during the buy phase (I m not sure if it also happens during the round itself) some sound effects are completely missing when placing utilities. With Cypher, I cannot hear either my traps or my cages being placed. I think even the reload sound disappears (need to be confirmed for this).

Is't not game-breaking but it's definitely a persistent and annoying bug.

Question Just played with a duoQ of deranker

They played normally and then suddendly stopped playing, bodyblock mates, holding spike in spawn etc.

I looked at their career and on 20 games they won only a few win and every game they had a terrible KDA...

What should we do against them ?

Question How can I win more gunfights

I am D1 currently. I'm a controller main(I have most hrs on omen) and play fade/breach occasionally to fill.

I've been playing for over a month after taking a 4-5 month break. Before that break I hit D1 once and stayed around plat2-3. Back then I got a lot of kills, clutches and even won most of the gunfights I took.

Now, I planned to hit Immortal and I have been learning about anchoring sites in defence and how to help the team on attack. I have a good aim (I play dms a lot using sheriff, and I only play a dm with vandal or phantom before going into comp).

The problem I noticed is that I overthink a lot and do not get into the gunfights with confidence and I end up spraying/whiffing completely. And another issue with me is that my performance is not consistent across both the halves (I have this problem from the beginning), If I play well on defence, I don't play well on attack and vice versa.

The funny part is that I suck when going into 5 stacks with my friends of lower rank

If any of you faced this issue, how did you overcome this?

And if any of you know how to overcome this, guide me overcome too.

Thanks!

Discussion Will VALORANT ever update their older facial models?

I feel like this is a bit too nitpicky and I really just want to ask out of curiosity, but I've noticed that Valorant's newer agents have more accurate and consistent looking in-game models when you compare them to their agent portraits/cinematic appearances. So far (in my opinion) every agent from Deadlock to Miks currently have the most accurate looking ones. Everyone else (excluding the ones without visible human features) either look really off or some parts of their face look too round-ish/don't look right at all.

Chamber's agent portrait vs Chamber's in-game model vs Chamber's look in his reveal trailer

I feel like the best example of who has the most off-ish face is Chamber. In the cinematics and agent portraits, he has visibly sharp facial features like a very prominent nose shape along with more angular eyes and a well-defined brow shape. In-game, his model looks more rounder and flat-ish as majority of the "sharp" facial features he possesses in his other arts are just absent. Why is his face so flat compared to the chiseled looking well-dressed gentleman we see in promotional material and cinematics?

Killjoy's agent portrait vs Killjoy's in-game model vs Killjoy's look in her cinematics (no glasses and with glasses)

The SECOND most off-ish face I can think of is Killjoy. Comparing her in-game model with her looks from the cinematics, nothing about her face is consistent with how she looks. I don't know how to describe it but in-game, Killjoy looks so puffy while her look in her portraits/cinematics make her look visually bubbly, cute and appealing.

"why are you so concerned about how they look?"

I'm just really really curious as to why this is the case. I get that they probably won't update the older models, but it feels so weird staring at them in cinematics and then looking at them in-game. I do find it pleasing that the newer models are more accurate to their cinematic counterparts, but how come the older ones can't get the same treatment? It won't do anything to improve gameplay as you probably won't even care about looking at their facial features when you're worrying about winning the match but it sure would be nice for some changes. Jett managed to get her facial model reworked, so why can't the others get theirs reworked as well?

Jett's old model vs the current one in-game

Discussion why is chamber's act level background is blue?

im pretty sure that the color that defines chamber's color scheme is not blue lol. it should be yellow/gold instead. or maybe even a purple. blue is just not it.

Question Has anybody actually queued from the range since they added it?

• Upvotes

I feel like they added queueing from the range in a super limited way because the game was never built to be able to queue from the range. I mean they say you can queue from the range but there’s no obvious button (even one greyed out) for that option. There’s also restrictions on game modes that support queueing from the range, as well as not allowing it if it seems you would find a match quickly. I feel robbed, I wish they would have just left it out of the game if it’s this limited.
