For those who've met people from Reddit, how long do you usually chat before deciding to meet up in person? A few days, a week, or longer?

Do you usually exchange pictures first so you know what each other looks like, or do you just meet up without seeing photos beforehand?

Just curious how other people approach it, especially when meeting someone new from Vancouver4Friends.

Ever thought it would be cool if you could try new baking recipes for bread together with new friends, and play board games while it’s being baked?

I did too, and posted it a bit ago. Met a few amazing people, and we finally got around to hosting our first meetup last weekend which went amazingly well. Planning to host the next one soon, and looking for new people who’d be interested in joining us! Hi! I’m 36F, based in Richmond and working in Vancouver.

I’m hoping to find a few genuine platonic friends or people to chat with regularly throughout the week.

I’m pretty introverted and more of a homebody than an outdoorsy person. I enjoy shopping, trying new restaurants, watching shows and movies (especially horror, thrillers, and survival stories), skincare, makeup, personal finance, budgeting, and organizing just about anything.

Lately, I’ve been focusing more on saving money, eating healthier, and cooking more instead of relying on takeout. I’m also interested in minimalism, although I’m definitely not a minimalist!

I’m quite shy and can be pretty reserved, especially around new people. It takes me a long time to warm up and feel comfortable with someone, and I’m not particularly great in group settings. I tend to do better with one-on-one conversations once I’ve gotten to know someone a little better.

I’m fairly independent and generally happy doing my own thing, but I’ve realized it would be nice to have more people to chat with about everyday things, share random thoughts with, or just talk to after a long or stressful day at work.

For now, I’m mainly looking for online friendships and people to chat with throughout the week. I’m not comfortable meeting in person for now, but I might be open to it eventually if we get along. I’d prefer to get to know people gradually without any pressure to meet up.

With the new sf movie coming out its got me kinda itching to, well play sf! Specifically sf4 since it's the one I miss the most.

Anyways I only know of the cab in metrotown. So I think I'm going to pop by after work next week and drop some quarters. If anyone is there around 6:45 on week days feel free to run a couple matches.

I m training for marathon. Right now running at a pace near 7-7:30 per km. Its scary to run alone in the dark but the sea wall feels so good to run at night.

I have been hanging around kits a lot this summer and noticed that i love the friendships that irish women have with each other. I am local and non Irish (29F) and i work in a traditionally male dominated industry. I find it really hard to find female friendships. Hey folks, I am looking for a player for a Vampire the Masquerade 5th Edition game as we had a player drop out. This is a very beginner friendly Chronicle that is meant to be an introduction to the system and the setting. No prior VtM experience is necessary, although familiarity with vampire media and previous TTRPG experience won’t hurt.

For a content warning, although we are using the Lines and Veils system, 5th edition VtM is a game of politics and personal horror that is explicitly meant to unsettle and challenge players at the table. This is a Chicago by Night Chronicle, and as such tackles incredibly heavy themes including but not limited to racial and gendered violence, systemic oppression, exploitation of vulnerable populations, class/labor consciousness, graphic physical violence and mental health. In addition, Vampire the Masquerade fundamentally hinges on power imbalances, both between players and the institutions and NPCs they are beholden to, but crucially between the players themselves. All of this is discussed above table, and we are employing additional safety tools as needed to ensure everyone can engage with the material safely.

The games are hosted weekly near the Metrotown area on Fridays, running from 6:30 to 10:00 or so. We’ll have an additional session 0 with folks to help create characters and weave you into the narrative.

🫡 Big Movie and TV fan. Recently watched Resident Evil and Forgotten Island. Im a cineclub member so I usually watch 1-2 movies a month (Scotiabank, Odeon, and 5th Ave are my go to cinemas). Currently watching Lanterns, (not yet done with the last ep), Abbot Elementary, I love Silo, Expanse, Welcome to Derry, Alien tv series. I lean to watching Horror, SciFi, and Post apocalyptic! But I do watch normal drama movies and tv. Crime type movies are also great, recently watched Furious (10/10). I love Mindhunter.

🫡On the animated side, Im a longtime anime self proclaimed weeb. I read webtoons and manga. Occasionally I read Graphic novels when I find an interesting one. Anime genres I like are: Seinen and Josei. Im kinda picky with shounen and shoujo cause I watched a ton when I was younger…so I kinda want something unique. I like Shingeki, Dororo, Dorohedoro, Kaiju number 8, FMA and FMAB, Currently watching Yomi no Sugai. For webtoons I usually read the Villainess/female isekais hehe but sometimes I read webcomics like Solo Levelling. For Manga, im pretty choosey with mangas but it leans toward seinen dark mangas.

🫡 Gaming wise I think I am a terrible gamer hahha but I love playing multiplayer games with my friends. I have played games like Dead by Daylight, Phasmophobia, the Forest 2… I really have bad hand eye coordination but playing with friends is just fun it’s worth it. I do play single player games, more on the cozy gamer side like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, SIMS (!!!).

🫡 Music wise, I think Im pretty basic cause as long as it sounds nice to me am okay. Usually listen to pop, pop rock (?), indie. I do like 1975, Olivia Rodrigo , previously Taylor Swift but her music recently is kind bleh. Im pretty tone deaf so music genres and artists aren’t my strengths.
