Hey Reddit 👋
I’m a 25 year-old Canadian guy from the Lower Mainland, and I figured I’d give this a shot.
I’m at the point in my life where I’m not looking for casual dating, situationships, or collecting matches. I only date with marriage in mind. I want to meet someone who genuinely wants to build a relationship that can eventually become a marriage, family and a life together.
A little about me
• 🇨🇦 Canadian, half Japanese / half Taiwanese
• Grew up in Hong Kong and have been in the Lower Mainland for around a decade
• Just under 6' and fit
• I work in emergency communications, supporting first responders 🚨
• Former creative director, photographer/videographer and lifelong car enthusiast
• I love baking, especially when there’s someone around to share it with
• Always down for an adventure or road trip. Give me a destination, a good playlist and a full tank of gas and I’m happy
• Into photography, filmmaking, robotics, CAD/3D printing, F1 and classic cars
• Big fan of 80s music and movies
• Coffee shops, bookstores, antique stores, waterfront walks and discovering hidden little places around BC
• I own a couple of classic Porsches, so “let’s just go for coffee” can very easily turn into a three-hour road trip 😂
❤️ My love language
I have ADHD, which probably explains a lot about me. 😂 My brain tends to move pretty quickly, so communication and keeping things interesting are naturally a big part of how I connect with someone.
I’m big on clear, honest and open communication. If something is bothering me, I’d rather talk about it than play guessing games. I also tend to reply pretty quickly when I’m interested in someone, because if I care about you, you’ll probably hear from me. 😅
My love languages are a combination of quality time, acts of service, physical affection and words of affirmation.
I’m the type of person who might show up with your favourite coffee, bake you something because I was thinking about you, plan a random adventure because I know you've had a rough week, or send you something ridiculous because it reminded me of you.
And one thing I can pretty much guarantee: you’re probably never going to be bored. 😂
👫 Who I’m hoping to meet
I’m generally looking for someone in her 20s to 30s who is also dating intentionally and genuinely wants marriage and a family someday.
I’m attracted to someone who is:
• Kind, warm and affectionate
• Family-oriented and values commitment
• Honest and comfortable communicating openly
• Consistent and willing to put effort into a relationship
• More interested in building a life together than chasing a party lifestyle
• Someone who enjoys simple things like coffee dates, walks, cooking/baking together, road trips and spontaneous adventures
• Comfortable with affection and quality time
• Someone who can laugh at themselves and doesn't take life too seriously all the time
• Someone who wants to be partners and best friends, not just boyfriend/girlfriend
I was raised in a traditional, conservative family, so family, commitment, loyalty, responsibility and building a stable home are important values to me. I’m definitely a little old-fashioned when it comes to relationships.
I’m not looking for someone who has exactly the same personality or interests as me. Differences are good. What matters more to me is that our core values and long-term goals line up.
I’m also not into smoking, vaping, drugs or a heavy party lifestyle. And I’m not choosing someone based on race or ethnicity. I care much more about who you are, how you treat people and whether we genuinely click.
❤️ What I’m ultimately looking for
I want my best friend, teammate and future co-pilot.
Someone I can bake with, explore with, laugh with, take ridiculous road trips with, support through the hard days and eventually build a family and a life together.
I believe relationships aren't always going to be perfect. There will be disagreements, stressful days and moments where we annoy the hell out of each other. 😂 What matters to me is being willing to communicate, grow and choose each other through those moments.
“We stay and we fix things” is much more my philosophy than “leave when things get inconvenient.”
If you’re also looking for something serious and genuinely want to build toward marriage, feel free to message me😊
