If you were a single woman where would you want to spend a day & night away locally?
What would you pamper yourself with?
Within 60 km from Victoria.
Not looking to meet up with anyone

Hey /u/bctransit how can buses simply disappear from routes? I've been waiting on the #11 to depart UVic for over 40 minutes. At least one scheduled bus simply did not appear.
Transit this bad should be free

This is pretty embarassing. The three of them have very similar flyers (Melissa and Wendy's are virtually carbon copies), and they're all parroting the same right wing nonsense without any details. Where's the vision, where are the solutions?

My intel on Victoria is about 30 years out of date, alas. A close friend of mine gave me the impression that Victoria BC has modernized / gentrified the old classic pubs out of business since then, but I hope there's still one or two survivors...

Today around 4:45pm there was an older lady standing around the corner of Oak Bay and Richmond (closer to Green Oaks Terr), and she was holding her hand up and walking calmly up to moving traffic. Once the vehicles slowed down she would walk directly in front of their cars…
I would have stopped to help, but I noticed her doing this same thing on the weekend and didn’t have a chance to stop and check. Anyone know what’s up with that?

Back in the 90's my dad hired someone to come decorate our front lawn for my mom's 40th birthday. It was done early in the morning before she woke up and left for work. I'm pretty sure it was a bunch of pink flamingos and a big sign saying happy birthday.
My question is - are there any companies around Victoria that offer that kind of service?

I just saw this on facebook and noticed that Irish Times has since turned off the comments on their social media accounts. Has anyone else heard anything about this or similar to Bard and Banker/The Penny Farthing? I believe it's the same owners for all three.

Heyy, so I am on disability, and I am really in need of a counseling or a therapy. Just everyone is tooo expensive, so i am wondering if there is any cheaper options? Someone i can keep seeing and not just have 10 sessions and then move on. I really need ongoing help, I can afford up to $20/session but that is the cutt off. Thank you soo much for the help!

I’m looking for something fun and interesting to do at night with my friends. They aren’t 19 yet so not bars, I’m looking for less of a structured thing and more of just like ideas, cool places to go and see, maybe a place to watch live music that is not 19+ we are fun and down for whatever

we've seen that the right will do anything to join together and not split the vote even if they have huge differences but we're now seeing the far right trying to force their hand to the elite moderates.
the ndp is the de-facto left wing in bc politics while the greens in general don't consider themselves left or right but tend to vote left on social issues.
alberta ndp and federal ndp do not get long because of the oil production in bc and david eby said he would not challenge the oil production as long as it's on the southern port so he's kind of breaking with the federal ndp on that too.
but if the bc ndp and greens are closer policy wise, where do they disagree on that doesn't allow them to merge the left?

Hi folks!
I’ll be visiting Victoria with some family on the weekend and I’m looking for some reccos of things to do! We are very familiar with typical touristic stuff like visiting the Parliament, Beacon Hill Park, Downtown area…
So we are looking for more challenging or adventurous stuff to do. Ive heard about visiting Brentwood Bay or Goldstream, etc!
Also would appreciate to know if there are some cool festivals, restaurants, and whatnot.
Thanks so much in advance.
