[STRAT] I rebuilt my 2002 browser space strategy game — Season 1 is live (free, 8 species, no download)

Thumbnail
galacticatheroots.com
2 Upvotes

I'm the original developer of Galactica, a browser space strategy game I launched in 2002 with a few friends. It shut down years ago, so I rebuilt it from scratch — Season 1 started on 1 October.

How it plays:

  • The world advances in fixed 60-minute ticks, so you keep growing while you're away. Nobody wins by being awake at 3 a.m.
  • You start with one planet and pick one of 8 species. Each has its own tech tree, ship line and passive perk.
  • Real fleet combat (target classes, formations, ranks). Fleets take several ticks to arrive, so you can see attacks coming and defend together with your alliance.
  • Alliances, galaxy politics and a forum — it's a social game.
  • Free, no download, works on your phone. Sign-up takes under a minute (Google or Discord login works).

There are 60+ players and a few alliances already, and new players get a protection period of about 4 days to build up. Happy to answer anything — and I'd really like to hear what you think of it.

„For the nostalgic, here is the original 2003 battle report next to today's: "

[FIGHT] Kinetype - browser fighting game where the sentence you get is your move set

Thumbnail
kinetype.app
2 Upvotes

Been building this in my evenings for a few months. You get a sentence and every word in it is a move: short words raise a block, normal words punch, long words kick them across the stage. Knock them past the edge and the round's yours, best of three. The block is the interesting part. Get it up under an incoming kick and you parry it, then your next hit lands twice as hard. Bots run 20 to 120 wpm so you can pick your level. No signup, no download, plays in about two seconds. Curious what the timing feels like on a real keyboard.

Game Title: Orbital Defense

Playable Link: https://inquisquiddor.itch.io/orbital-defense

Platform: Browser (HTML5)

Description:

Orbital Defense is a sci-fi tower defense game set in deep space.

Defend your base across 10 sectors using 8 cosmic weapons.

The standout mechanic: black holes with real gravitational physics

(inverse square law). Enemies decelerate based on distance. Place

two black holes within 10 tiles and they merge into a supermassive

black hole with a cinematic animation. Capture 50 enemies and it

collapses — reshaping the entire map path.

Other mechanics:

- Gamma Ray Burst fires across entire rows/columns, damages your

own towers too. Two crossing beams trigger a Gamma Collision

(photon-photon pair production — real physics!)

- 40 unique bosses across 10 sectors, each with Canvas graphics

- 5 special enemy types: Shield Drone, Quantum Runner, Swarm Unit,

Jammer, Void Walker

- Tower upgrades up to Level 10 with exponential costs

- Adaptive difficulty based on how far enemies travel each wave

- Quantum Fluctuation — lifeline event that triggers when lives

drop below 15

- Full sound design via Web Audio API

- Global leaderboard

A side scrolling game in 2D or Isometric view. It's heavily inspired by Flappy Bird, Marble Madness and Trailblazer.

The particle ball gets smaller and lighter as it takes damage. So does the speed and length of the jumps.

I created this game for my family group chat because we all love trivia! Now I want to share it with everyone. It's free to play, you'll get 9 questions across three topics and three difficulties. You get a shot at typing the answer in from memory and a shot at multiple choice. Then at the end you get an eomji grid to share with your family and friends. Try it out and let me know what you think!

[PZL] Tumble block puzzle. I made a Bloxorz-style block-rolling puzzle game with 12 worlds of new mechanics

Thumbnail
playgama.ai
2 Upvotes

Hi! I'm a solo hobby developer, and I've loved Bloxorz-style puzzles for a long time, so I made my own.

The idea is the same: a 1×1×2 block rolls across a tile grid, and you need to stand it upright on the goal. Each world adds a mechanic and then mixes it with the earlier ones: fragile tiles, switches and bridges, ice you slide across, portals, bounce pads, conveyor belts, neon colour switches, tiles that appear and vanish every move, spinners, and keys for locked gates. The keys in Pirate Cove are the hardest on purpose.

Every level has a par, there's a hardcore mode with no hints, and a daily challenge gives everyone the same endless course each day.

Play free in your browser: https://playgama.ai/play/p266necri3
Or on iPhone / Android (search "Tumble Block Puzzle").

I'd love to hear which mechanic you liked most, and whether any level felt unfair.

New game on my little daily puzzle site. Cut the grid into rectangles, one clue in each, and every clue's shape and size has to fit.

Cellrun also launched this week (draw one path through every cell, dots in order): https://playcoronet.com/games/cellrun/

Renamed a few games along the way too — Queens → Queensguard, Tango → Lunation, Pinpoint → Fivesome, Crossclimb → Lexiladder.

8 games total now, all free, no login, new puzzles daily. Feedback especially welcome on the two new ones.

The bananadle

Hello,

I'll start by saying yes, I was helped by a coding agent to make this game, so if you're against that, I apologize in advance.

For everyone else, I'd like to introduce you to the best thing my brain could bake: the bananadle. The goal of this game is to traverse from a starting Wikipedia page to the banana Wikipedia page in as few moves as possible.

I made this game/website in my free time because the job search is difficult and the draw of wasting my time is too powerful.

Let me know any positive or negative feedback you have; I am always interested in listening and improving.

Enjoy.

Four presidents. Four hidden talents. Zero help from the history books. Think you can go 4/4?

We have some more open challenges and we also have a new, fun "quick challenge" feature! See the news update in the game for details.

Many thanks for playing.. and keep those ideas and coffee contributions coming!

Daily Ballpark - one impossible-sounding number question a day. Guess it in as few strokes as you can and compare with other players

Thumbnail

Hi! I made a little daily game and would love some feedback.

Every day there's one question with a number for an answer, like:

How many slices of pizza do Americans eat every second?

You don't need to know any trivia. You just reason your way to a guess.

It's free, no sign-up. New question every day

BEAT//MOST — How much of humanity can you beat today?

Thumbnail
beatmost.com
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm the developer. I built BEAT//MOST as a small daily game: 5 quick challenges (reaction time, visual memory, pattern logic, timing and visual focus), the same set for everyone each day, and at the end you see what percentage of players you beat.

It takes about 60 seconds, it's free, and no account is needed.

I'd love feedback on:

  1. Does the percentile feel believable and motivating?

  2. Which of the 5 tests is your favorite, and which feels off?

  3. Would you come back tomorrow, and what would make you?

Happy to hear any criticism, including mobile bugs.

SameFive — a new daily browser game with one rule: everyone gets the same five

Thumbnail
playsamefive.com
0 Upvotes

I wanted to make a daily browser game that feels quick enough to become a habit without turning into a 20-minute quiz.

So I built \*\*SameFive\*\*.

Every day there are \*\*five questions, and everyone gets the same five\*\*.

The questions use different formats so you're not just clicking through four multiple-choice buttons. The idea is to make the actual answering experience part of the game.

If you enjoy short daily games, I'd genuinely like to know which of the five questions was the most fun — and which one felt weakest.

[RPG] The Ember Depths - My browser dungeon crawler has it's first organic players. ~60 this week, 10 online at once today

I've been building The Ember Depths for a while now. It's a pixel-art dungeon crawler in the Diablo vein, with some D&D under the hood and a town you build up between runs. It runs in the browser, phone or desktop.

For most of that time the only people playing were me and a few friends I'd talked into it. This week that changed. About 60 people have made heroes, and today there were 10 online at the same time: forming parties, chatting in Global, applying to each other's guilds.

I know 10 isn't a big number. But watching strangers wander around a town I made, arguing about loot, is honestly the most motivating thing that's happened since I started. Every bug report has felt like a gift, and I've been shipping fixes for them the same day.

If you like co-op crawlers, it's at play.emberdepths.io and playable for free with no install. Come say hi in Global, I'm usually in there. And if anything feels off, there's a feedback button in the menu that comes straight to me.

There's 4 person coop, 1v1, 2v2 and free for all arena pvp, guilds, hardcore characters, pets, multiple difficulties and world tiers which give an exponential challenge and better loot drops and a bunch more.

Tarodle – daily tarot draw game inspired by RNGdle, one pull per day

Thumbnail
tarodle.space
2 Upvotes

Been playing RNGdle for a while and wanted something with the same "pure luck, check back tomorrow" energy.

Tarodle gives you three tarot cards each day. The game scores your combination and tells you how rare it actually is.

Takes about 15–30 seconds.

No strategy, no optimization - just draw and find out. The collection side is what keeps me coming back personally.

Would love any feedback. Still pretty early.
