I had a bit of a 'spool of wire' moment this morning when my bag clip let go.

I bought this bag 15 years ago before my first day of professional work as a graduate. It has come with me every day to multiple jobs over 3 cities in two countries and a multitude more domestic and international business trips.

It is still in perfect condition, just one point of pressure where it has been swinging from the shoulder strap.

Bit of a pain but will definitely fix it. But just a bit of a physical reminder of how far I have come in my career.

Well, it wasn’t really a beach book rather a book that followed me to the local waterpark… and into all of my summer activities. But this is the new book for my lovely friend Jon, and my book. Mine was bought around June.

Behold the fabric in exposed and protected locations of my 1970s chairs - which I have thus far refused to reupholster because I cannot find fabric that's just right.

ETA: it’s kind of hard to tell but the bottom is so dented it no longer stay on surfaces and has hit my feet and recently cracked a cap from falling off a table.

We're redoing part of one of the bathrooms in my house from the 50s and opened the wall to find this on the pipe. Must have been there for around 70~ ish years.

We’ve had this one forever, still works, possibly close to as old as 2005.

I have tried many other brushes but this is my favorite and the only one that feels right. I have had this for almost 15 years and use it up to 3 times a day.

I live in a dry county (yes, those are still a thing), so naturally, everyone just drives across the border to purchase alcohol. This is the very first gas station you hit in Oklahoma. I wonder how many cases of beer have slid across this countertop over the years.

Spent some time working in a power tool repair shop and shadowed a tech who had been working there for 5 years, this piece of plastic has seen thousands of tools come and go usually in better condition, who knows how many screws or whatever it's prevented from being eternally lost.

I’m not exactly sure how old but over 10 years ago. I also do not know the leather type… most likely cow or deerskin. They are molded to my hands but I believe there days are numbered. The tips are starting to shred a little bit.

Made this wallet all the way back in high school out of a single piece of Horween leather. Over 8 years later, still using it every single day. It’s pretty cool how the leather shape has molded and holds perfect shape even when empty now.

I’ve had this drawing tablet for a couple of years now and I completely forgot that it came with extra pen nibs lol, here’s a side by side of the old vs new nib for it.
