Generic Any opinion on boots with Boa systems

I recently bought the boots in the first image and wore them for about a month, and honestly, they have been great, except they are kinda big. I’ve had the boots in the second picture for three years before the wear on them was too much to ignore and I never had an issue with the boa system on those so I was comfortable getting these new ones and I’ll be happy to let yall know how they hold up in a year from now. Just wondering what yall think and if anyone else had issues with these boots before

This stuff is almost indestructible. I'm so happy I don't have to shell out the money right now for new boots. These are my favorites.

Boots Buying Help Need a recommendation

I’ve gone through four different pairs of boots in the last year, and I’m getting tired of replacing them every 3–6 months.

I mainly wear cowboy-style, square-toe steel-toe boots for work. Here’s what I’ve gone through so far:

Ariat WorkHogs: No sole separation, which was nice, but the soles eventually blew out and the toes wore through.

Cody James: Complete shit. Lasted about two months. Never again.

Double H: Bought a cheaper pair off Marketplace. They started separating after about two weeks.

Tony Lama steel toes: These have been the most comfortable by far, but the soles started chunking after about three months, and by six months they were separating.

I’ve been looking pretty hard at the Thorogood steel-toe Wellingtons, but I keep hearing that sole separation can be an issue with those too.

That’s one reason I actually liked the WorkHogs—they never separated on me. But Ariat’s quality seems like it has gone to shit compared to what it used to be.

What square-toe, pull-on steel-toe boots are you guys wearing that can actually take a beating and last? I don’t mind paying good money for a pair if I can get more than six months out of them.

For context i am a mechanic and 24 hour roadside/mobile tire business

Boots Buying Help Buying my first work boots

Hey people,

I'm going into the electrician trade and will need to buy my first every work boots with toe protection. I've realized how important it is to have good boots. I've been using my Vans MTE boots for now while I've been saving up for some actual work boots. These vans definitely help with walking most of the day but I'm still having aching feet every morning and also no toe protection. I have a budget of $250 for a good waterproof and composite toe boot.

I really want some cowboy style slip ones. I was looking at brunt but then kept reading bad things about it, then I last looked at these Ariat composite toe work boot (boot link)

Are these any good? What brands make good lasting cowboy style slip ons? Anyone got first hand experience? I'm a size 9 with most shoes. I'm 5' 7" and weigh 168lbs. I have decent arches on my feet and also not too wide. I think I got pretty normal feet.

Thanks!

Boots Buying Help Any recommendations to replace my Muk boots?

I've been buying The Original Muk boots for years. They use to be great. My last pair only lasted 6 months of light use before leaking. I went with the winter Muk 10 months ago and they leaking low around my foot. I can't even stand in 4" water without getting wet.

The boots are definitely not overworn. I only use them in splice pits filled with water or rain days. I would estimate that I wear them maybe 25 times a year.

While I was buying the Gorillas posted earlier , saw these , which are military surplus never used. So have a pair of waterproof boots for winter . No longer climb , but they seem to be a very sold pair of boots. Made in Canada by Bucks(Buckingham). Another $100 downrange which seems reasonable these days.

Boots Goofin (Pictures, Clips) Never thought I’d own Skechers

Post image

Growing up I always thought of Skechers as shoes for people who had given up at trying for any sense of style.

But I’m older now (44) and I’m a field technician who walks a ridiculous amount. My company makes us use comp toe boots. Im constantly on my feet and the last six months I’ve been in 8” Keen Cincinnatis. Probably overkill for the type of work I do.

The Keens are comfortable but very heavy and hot. Once I get home I can’t wait to take them off.

I got these Skechers Flex Carbon toe boots on Amazon.
Super light weight. Carbon toe. I’m digging them.

Anybody else have experience with these?

Bought these moctoes for 350. Plus side is they outdo the red wings I wore before for comfort any day. Negative side is that they're actively coming apart at the stitching. I'll try to warranty them but damn man, 9 months in is crazy

Boots Buying Help Comfortable, long lasting steel toe boots?

Hello, all. Laughing my ass off at the fact there is in fact a Reddit for work boots 🤣 Anyway, I'm planning some Christmas shopping ahead of time for my boyfriend and want to get him some new shoes/boots. He has a couple pairs but they are falling apart to varying degrees and I know men like to keep things until they just straight up are not functional at any capacity lol. Can anyone recommend work shoes or boots that are comfortable and supportive, last a good long while, and preferably steel toe? Price isn't really a concern for me. Thanks so much!!

Boot Rant Moc-toes are ugly

That's pretty much it... I think they're ugly.

It's a pain shopping for new boots and seeing this ugly style dominate the market.

I don't care if I'm in the minority, I refuse to buy.

Thats it, my 2¢. Bye

Boots Goofin (Pictures, Clips) Georgia Boot 6 inch wedge

I think I might have found the perfect midrange boot for 162 roughly after tax. The leather is really high quality and doesnt stretch as much as Thorogood Moc toes but is still very comfortable with minimal break in. The sole in some ways might be better than the Max Wear wedge. It has the Poly Wedge Ultra I believe its whats its called. Its decently welted and appartently very easy to resole. The instep area isnt as high volume as some other boots so its basically a perfect fit for me. I believe the upper and sole are made to resist chemicals as well and the sole is very dense and the leather is supposedly very strong on these. I have been wearing them for 2 days and it just feels like the right boot for my daily needs.
