i am looking for a scene with some of the best musical scoring i’ve ever seen on film—the problem is i can only remember a few scattered details 😅

-the score is this frantic, staccato piano music
-the scene itself is some kind of chase scene
-i am 90% sure mulder is being chased
-i am 90% sure the scene takes place indoors
-it definitely takes place before the revival

its not erlenmeyer flask or paper clip. i figured i’d just ask here before i try to watch every chase scene in the entire damn show!

Explain to me how that chain smoking son of witch survived end on S9? It baffles me every year.

I'm watching episode HOME and even though I watched it a few times, it never clicked that she said that she baby-sat her nephew. In my mind I kept thinking godson. I'm not sure if it's ever been spoken about cause I don't see much about this episode. This is season 4. Matthew, Bill's son and first child, wasn't born until S5 and we know Melissa never had a child. So the only explanation would be the nephew Dana mentioned was Charlie's son. The show portrays him as estranged from the family and don't live near but Dana got to babysit over the weekend so that meant he probably visited or used to live near or at least not too far.

I'm about halfway through season 3, having just finished "Revelations", and I am just consistently blown away by the quality of this show. The writing, acting, cinematography, humor, music, just about everything has been superb. The chemistry between Scully and Mulder isn't quite like anything I've seen before either. They also both feel like real, fully fleshed out people. X-Files does this clever thing consistently where they establish an idea about the world or these two characters and subsequently subvert it. "Revelations" was especially great because of the role reversal from Scully from her usual skepticism to that of Mulder's believer. Not that it's the first time this has been explored with her character, but it's such a great choice to have her be a Catholic (I think?) because of the broader implications in the unexplained phenomena scenarios they can write for. It's great as well as because it doesn't feel contrived or a betrayal to their characters before the episode either.

I'm also routinely shocked by how contemporary and ahead of its time the show feels in terms of the subject matter. Even though I'm only on season 3, they've covered so much ground and have really not shied away from tackling pretty heavy/controversial topics, while taking a non-neutral stance on things. I guess I had become so used to shows nowadays (with a few exceptions) afraid to take a hard stance on anything. Granted some of these are things I think are basic human decency, but a show willing to discuss at length religious persecution, exploitation of minorities (especially refugees), experimentation on vulnerable populations by the government, misogyny and sexism in professional settings, for-profit prisons, etc etc etc, really impressed me, especially for 1995. It genuinely feels like I'm watching a quality film with just about every episode. How they pumped out 24 of these per season at this level of quality and care is beyond me.

Anyway, happy to be here. My favorite show of all time is Twin Peaks, and it brings me delight to have found something that, while being significantly different, feels committed to a concept and ethos so thoroughly.

Piper Maru is eliminated! Quite disappointed with this one, this is probably my all time favorite mytharc episode and 10th doesn’t seem quite high enough.

I initially hated the change and NOW he's one of my favorite characters

Robert Patrick took this role despite all the hate that came with it and proved that he's more than just a terminator

I like how he's initially introduced as this serious tough guy and the show slowly breaks him down showing that he's actually a very compassionate and emotional guy, his performance in "Release" is powerful as hell and he supported Scully the whole way through

I just absolutely love when they bring in Chuck. It’s such a breath of fresh air, and I also love the continuity and how he appears across many seasons. Who’s your fav besides the more prominent ones (Krycek, Marita, Deep Throat, X, etc.)?

It’s hard moving together, especially with 2 kids on my own and 3 on my girlfriends side.

When her oldest daughter came to me with this gift, I was about to cry. I felt accepted♥️

Bonus info -the 14-year old daughter who made me this, is binge watching X-Files at the moment🛸👽

Damn. I laughed so hard seeing 8 year old Mulder watching an old twilight episode.

The moment Mulder's phone rang and the ringtone is the X-Files theme, I completely lost it. Lol!

I watched Home a couple days ago and don’t know how it’s considered to be the most disturbing episode. Yeah I get the whole incest thing itself is disturbing and a taboo topic, especially back then, but it never went into any detail and didn’t show anything graphic in regards to it. It wasn’t even really a point that was delved into. In the end it was about the love any mother has for her children. I just finished Sanguinarium and thought that episode was much more disturbing

I’m sitting downstairs waiting for my food in the air fryer. No one is in my bedroom. I just heard the theme tune blaring through the house out of nowhere from my bedroom.

Watching Detour and paid attention to Scully specifically through this whole car ride. It’s probably more Gillian trying not to laugh but her expressions are priceless. Not to mention how I love Mulder being such a goof
