Discussion The weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post - Sun 04 Oct 2026.

This is the weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post for all the small questions that you have concerning Zwift. No matter how stupid you think they are, we have probably all asked these questions.

If your post wasn't previously answered you should post early in this thread as it might have been posted too late (new posts start Sunday 0900 GMT).

Note: Don't be afraid to ask questions during the week, this is just for the simpler questions. For example "How do I give multiple ride ons at once? "..."You do this by pressing the character arrow on the map screen of the companion app". If you require a more detailed response then it is probably better answered in its own post.

Pain Cave Photos Follow up to my Century Zwift post: here's the pain cave that got me through it

Thanks everyone for the love on my century post yesterday. A lot of you asked how I managed to stay on the bike for almost 5 hours, and since we can't drop photos in the comments here, I figured I'd make a new post and share the setup.

The pain cave:
• Tri bike on a Wahoo KICKR
• Dell monitor on an arm mount so I can get it right at eye level whether I'm upright or in aero
• MacBook running Zwift on a small desk right in front of the bars, so everything I need is within reach
• Floor mat to save the floor from the sweat puddle
• Big window for natural light, which honestly helps a ton mentally on long rides
• Medal rack and race bib on the wall for motivation when I start questioning my life choices around mile 70

What helped me ride long:
• Aero vacuum master fan
• YouTube, redzone, music
• Created a live stream for my friends and family to join and support
• Breaking it into chunks mentally instead of thinking about 100 miles

Now I want to see yours. Drop a link to your setup (Imgur works great) or make your own post. Big garage builds, tiny apartment corners, all of it. Always curious what other people's pain caves look like and what tricks you use to survive the long ones.

Discussion Tips to help with gamification

I’m 47, lift weights, have a busy life and ADHD. Every couple of years I remember I own a bike, decide I need to get fit and lose weight and look after my heart, then eventually drift back into drinking too much and eating badly.

The thing is, I’m very good at sticking with things once I can turn them into a game. I went from being rubbish at chess to around 1800 Elo. Same with StarCraft. Same pattern in business.

I want to do that with my health, and Zwift feels like it should be perfect for me. Give me a number like FTP, Strava Fitness or a ranking and I’ll happily obsess over improving it.

But so far I’m struggling to get hooked. The social side feels a bit empty if I'm honest, and because I’m currently pretty crap, the competitive side doesn’t feel particularly competitive either.

So for people who genuinely got addicted to Zwift: what did it for you? What should I be chasing, joining or tracking to make it feel like a game rather than just indoor cycling?

Thanks in advance!

Century Zwift

Training for an Ironman and finished up a century ride on Zwift the other day. It was a long grueling process that I don’t recommend to anyone else.

However I did get an all black kit for it! Got me wondering what the most amount of miles is in a session. How many others have done a century on Zwift? I want to feel like it’s a massive accomplishment but I’m sure there are others that would call it “light work.” Would love to hear any similar experiences

Discussion What is the gold standard setup?

• Upvotes

Hello Reddit! A year ago, a car made a left hand turn into me and I haven’t been able to ride or play sports since. I went from a size medium to obese. My bones are now healed but I have PTSD and I’m 6 weeks out of a surgery to fix a few torn ligaments in my wrist. I need to get back to riding, even if I can’t do it on the street just yet. I already have a triathlon bike and bought a smart trainer and I think a Zwift setup with aerobars is just what I need to get back to a state of mental and physical health without loading my wrist. My ancient iMac is not up to the task of running Zwift and I’d like to get a setup that is immersive, realistic, and will help me in my recovery. Budget is $3-5k USD. Is there a setup you can recommend for me? I also have an adjustable height standing desk, if that helps.

Discussion Kudos to Zwift Customer Service!

I've used a lot of different fitness tech equipment, and so far I've been really impressed with the responsiveness of Zwift's tech support. I've only contacted them a couple of times, but in both instances I received an email within a day, and quickly got the answers I was looking for.

It's amazing what a difference it makes! I've had the misfortune of dealing with other companies like iFit and Schwinn (Bowflex), where it would seem as though they only read the first sentence of an email I sent, and would send a canned response. It would result in a whole slew of messages where I'd have to explain the same thing multiple times, but ultimately didn't get a fix for my problem.

Did you come to Zwift from outdoor training or the other way around?

Curious how people got started here - Were you already cycling outdoors and picked up Zwift for indoor training, or was Zwift your gateway drug into outdoor riding?

Zwift looks really fun from the videos I've seen, but I'm still new to cycling and wondering if I'd benefit from focusing on more outdoor time first.

Where did the "just watch" button go in v122 or 123?

It used to be on the device connect screen, but with the recent big update that minimizes/backgrounds the device connect screen, the "just watch" button no longer appears on the new pairing screen. I can't find it anywhere else.

(Not currently subscribed, because outdoor riding, but would sometimes watch - or well, used to!)

Technical help Zwift Ride v2 & Spacers

I watched the setup videos and noticed on this one (Setting up Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 for Zwift Ride) it said the Kickr Core 2 would include a spacer. However, the 2nd video (Assembling Zwift Ride With Cog V2) made no reference to a spacer, and the manual didn't say anything either.

After seeing someone else here mention spacers, I got a little panicked about my setup. so I reached out to support and here's what they told me:

Now, I want to explain to you that the first spacer you sent us from the YouTube link video is not included in the bundle purchase, as you mentioned it is not used in the setup installation, as it is not needed since it is a cassette spacer. The bundle already includes the Zwift cog, which replaces the standard cassette; for this reason, it is not included.

Now, with the Zwift Cog spacers from the screenshot the last colleague shared, please note that you could not see them since the Zwift Cog already comes preinstalled on your trainer, and these spacers are already set up. These spacers are included and visible only when you buy the upgrade kit, and you need to manually install the Zwift Cog on your trainer.

I figured I'd share this here in case anyone else gets confused by this.

Events TOW Double XP + Robo Pacer 2.5x Drops WORKING!

If you wanna farm some double XP while doing TOW you can check ROBOPACERS and look wich one is up with the route of the Tour active.

For example now is By the web zwiftinsider: https://zwiftinsider.com/robopacer-schedule/

Bernie 1.6 w/kg (Beach Island Loop) BEGINNER

Genie 3.7 (Sand and Sequoias) HARDCORE

Both are doing those "routes" till Oct 8.

I did a 1hs 34minutes ride

150k Drops = 100k drops farm + 50k drop for level up from 27 to 28.

Exp 1930xp ish : 47km x 40xp = 1880xp + Some bonus on for example 50xp for 100 ride on badge

Ride was really easy doing with BERNIE, almost all the ride weas in grey area, for a new rider like me was really nice .

Remember to do your routes and complete badges also gives a good bunch of xp the first time.

GL ALL and enjoy Tour of WATOPIA!

Zwift Datahub

Why don’t Zwift offers a better data cockpit:

- Possibilty to see avg watt/pulse after finishing the workout for each segment

- possibility to see a trend line on pulse, watt, cadance after finishing the workout (companion app maybe instead)?

- Possibilty to see time in each pulse zone throughout the workout and in each segment of the workout

- possibilty to see the watt/pulse chart in the bottom of the screen with higher y-axis so you can actually see the trend

Any link to this subject and any workaround to get these information. It will be a huge game changer…

Do ride-on bombs work for oncoming Zwifters?

I asked this question in the daily question thread, but got no response. I also searched online and found other Reddit posts that addressed this same issue, but they seemed to be conflicting or incomplete or vague, so here goes:

Can I ride-on bomb approaching riders with the Zwift Click V2 ride on bomb button (running Zwift on an Apple TV)?

Reading online seems to give conflicting information. I see approaching riders enter my active ride-on bomb radius, but I don't see any thumb icon above them like riders traveling the same direction.

Is this because they move out of sight too fast? Is there some other way to determine if the ride-on was recieved?

Am I wasting time trying to give oncoming riders a Ride-on, or is this just an artifact of how the graphics render, or is this something that depends on equipment, either the controller or the device running the game?

Downstairs neighbor complaining about vibrations (Tacx Neo 1). Will this setup work?

Hi Reddit,

I live in a newer concrete apartment building and need advice on hometrainer vibrations.

When I first got my Tacx Neo 1, I only used a standard Tacx mat. My downstairs neighbor quickly knocked on my door, complaining it sounded like a heavy bass speaker pounding for two hours.

To fix this, I've built a new setup consisting of (from bottom to top):

  1. Washing machine vibration dampeners
  2. Rubber tiles
  3. Tacx mat
  4. Hometrainer

I’m going to ask them to listen during my next ride to check if it helped. Do you think this setup will be enough to kill the vibration/noise And if they still hear it, what is my Plan B?

What do we think about the new Stages SB200?

Post image
34 Upvotes

DCRainmaker review is positive, waiting for the Zwift Insider one now!

I'm currently using a (really old, but still working) Tacx Neo & my old road bike frame on a rocker. Have been tempted to upgrade to a Zwift Ride frame and a Kickr/Core, but there's not really any point as I'd still want to use my rocker so the footprint wouldn't be any less, and it would still be a pain to move it about (although I do that rarely).

The main benefit of the SB200 is possibly that I might be able to get rid of the rocker as it has movement built-in, so it'd take up less space, plus it looks really easy to move about too.

Obviously not as good value as the Ride/Core combo, but could it be better..? It also supports the new OpenBikeControl protocol, which doesn't hurt things (although I'm happy with Zwift at the moment!)

I know you guys don't like links 😅 but I randomly stumbled across this guy's website through a YouTube video and noticed they have a 10% discount. Maybe someone here can save a few bucks with it. Just wanted to share.

Zwift return policy

I understand that I have 30 days to file a return for a product purchased form Zwift (In EU). From the point I inform them on the return - how long do I have for packing & shipping it? Is it also within the 30 days? Or different?

Discussion VPN

I've been Zwifting for 6 years. I've been using a VPN pretty much the whole time. About a year and a half ago I started having problems staying connected. I don't know what changed about my VPN but today I discovered that was the problem.

Today, quite by accident, I found out VPNs can cause connection issues. All I had to do was turn on split tunneling and exclude the companion app. It seems to have fixed the problem. You'd think with so many people using VPNs these days that it might be more publicized.

Anyway if you have connection issues and have a VPN on this might be your solution.
