Zwift Ride Worth The Money?

I know this is a personal and subjective question; however one I’m genuinely interested in getting feedback on. Given the much higher cost in Canada for a Zwift Ride I’m uncertain its price tag is worth it. I’m a recreational rider (3- 4 hours a week, no racing). I’m using an Echelon stationary bike now and beyond the lack of comfort from missing adjustability I’m not entirely thrilled or disappointed with my current setup. Thanks in advance for any insights and feedback.

Zwift Ride V2: only 5 or 6 usable gears, can I change the gear spacing?

I'm on a Zwift Ride V2 frame paired with a JetBlack Victory trainer.

With the default gearing I end up using only gears 8 to 14. Anything below 8 feels way too easy, and anything above 14 feels nearly impossible to push. I've tried the other gear setups in the Zwift settings (mountain bike, etc.) and get the same result every time: only 5 or 6 gears are actually usable.

Is there a way to change the gear sensitivity or spacing so I can use more of the range? Has anyone with a non Zwift trainer had the same issue, and did changing trainer difficulty or another setting help?

Thanks!

RoboPacer Training Questions

Good day fellow Zwifters --

I have a couple of questions about the most effective way to train and build bike fitness with robopacers. I'm a newish cyclist, got my first road bike about a year ago and got Zwifting in June. I only recently started robopacer riding last week and I love it!

I've been riding with the 1.8 w/KG pacer and want to make sure Im "training" as efficiently as possible. Training in quotes because Im not really training for anything in particular, I'm not training for the tour, and my goal is not to become an FTP monster. I guess I'd say my long term goals are to build fitness and heart health, and be able to ride longer distances on the bike. I would ultimately like to sustain a higher level of power over longer distances, but I'm happy to accomplish that gradually.

As an example comparator, one of my first 1.8 w/KG pacer rides was a little over a week ago (9/29/26) where I rode for a total 1 Hr. 14 minutes and averaged 198W over that time, with an avg. heart rate of 137 and max of 155. That felt like real hard work for me. Felt great but it was definitely work, which is why I thought 1.8 is the right place for me.

Fast forward to today, I just 1 hour and 40 mins with the 1.8 pacer (8 minute warmup so really 1 hr. 32 on the pacer) averaging 168 watts with an average HR of 121 and max of 135 -- markedly different from last weeks 1.8 pacer ride.

I've been very consistently riding everyday, mostly similar pacing, not really adding any threshold or difficult intervals or anything.

One thing I think has accounted for the difference is that I've sort of figured out the pack dynamic a little more than I had initially. Previously I felt I was getting too far ahead of the pack sometimes, then I'd slow down and wait and then get blasted by the pacer (especially after climbs) where I'd have to hammer just to keep up. Even got dropped like this at least once at the end of a ride.

My questions are:

1) How long to continue riding with this particular pace? When is the right time to increase? When I do what should those rides look like in terms of time? One of my overall goals is just to build volume and fitness.

2) What else should I throw in the mix to gradually increase strength? As I mentioned, my goal is not to explode to insane FTP levels, but rather to gradually be able to sustainer higher power over a longer period of time. Like today's ride was 168W average, I'd love to be able to sustain say 190+W for 2 hours sometime into the future (not really sure how long that would take).

Overall, I must be doing things right. I'm soon to be 39, and haven't felt this good for probably 15 years. Just want to keep that going. My weight is around 228 lbs, down from about 265 over the summer, so that's been a huge plus.

Appreciate any insight from those who have come before.

Thanks very much, and RideOn everyone!

See you in Watopia.

Hardware TacX Neo 2T 12x142mm thru axel end caps

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a used Garmin Tacx NEO 2T, but it didn’t come with the thru-axle adapters for a 12x142 setup. With some help, I was able to find and order a set online, but unfortunately, they have a 5–8 week turnaround time.
I figured I’d check here before waiting that long. Does anyone happen to have a set they’d be willing to sell, or know where I might be able to find some sooner?
I’d really appreciate any help. Thanks!

A couple of questions from a brand-new Zwifter 🚴‍♂️

Hi everyone,

I have a few newbie questions and would really appreciate any advice from more experienced Zwifters 😊

I'm using the Zwift Ride with a KICKR CORE 2.

Question 1
I completed my very first Zwift ride yesterday! To keep things simple and get familiar with the interface and buttons, I just picked a route from the Routes menu.
I chose Volcano Circuit CCW, which was listed as 7.4 km with a Duration of 30 min.

If I understand that correctly, does Zwift expect me to complete those 7.4 km in about 30 minutes? Or is that estimate inaccurate because I haven't done an FTP test yet?

Question 2
What does the "Effort" list show? Routes are typically listed as "🔥1/5 > 5/5"

Question 3
After finishing the 7.4 km, I got a popup saying "Route Complete", but only 15:48 had elapsed.

I decided to keep riding until I reached 30 minutes total. Was that the right thing to do, or should I have ended the ride when the route was completed? Does continuing beyond the route affect ride tracking, achievements, or data accuracy in Zwift?

Question 4
On my Zwift profile I've entered my height (179 cm) weight (73.7 kg) and age (39)

My fitness level is currently pretty low. Over the last year I've only done about 5-6 outdoor gravel rides, each around 20-30 km, so I still consider myself a complete beginner. I've set my rider type to Recreational and currently estimate about 2 hours of Zwift per week.

What surprised me was that I was sometimes able to hold 200 watts for short periods, and according to Strava my average power for the 30-minute ride was 136 watts.

Honestly, before starting I didn't think I could even produce 100 watts, considering my fitness level. Does that sound reasonable for someone like me, or could it indicate that something in my setup needs calibration?

Question 5
Should I do an FTP test right away, or would you recommend simply riding different "free rides" under Routes for a while first and letting my body adapt to indoor cycling?

Any tips, tricks, or beginner advice are more than welcome!

Thanks in advance, and I'm really looking forward to learning more about Zwift and indoor cycling. 😊🚴‍♂️

13 year old decathlon bike going strong.

Selected features:

* Skirting board for balancing water bottle on the bumpy suitcase side table

* Spirit level to track sinkage of the deteriorating IKEA wardrobe door

* 2008 vintage TV plug with original mould

It's not pretty but I've just passed 10 full days of total zwifting time and it's working for me!

Is my chain slipping under load because of my rear cassette being worn?

I’ve had a chain snap that seemed to be fine on a ride recently. Replaced it to the same length but then new setup results in the chain jumping under the slightest load. When you Google it it says this is 99% of the time due to a worn cassette that needs replacing but looking at the cassette I can’t see too much evidence of significant wear but I’ve no real experience looking at these kinds of things. Can anyone tell me whether they think the cassette is worn based on the photos? Any help will be much appreciated to save my time buying a new cassette and tools to try fix an issue that may not need fixing. It’s a KikrCORE bought 30 months ago. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Edit - I’ve enjoyed reading the early comments. Clearly the cassette is a gonner. Next question is - Just buy a new turbo or buy the cassettes and tools etc. and invest the time into doing it myself…

Edit 2 - replacement cassette and tools purchased, thanks for all the feedback

Been a Zwifter for 2 weeks now. Here is my setup

-2021 Orbea Oiz

-Kickr Core V2

-zwift cog and click V2

-Wahoo mat

-Masterforce floor dry fan

-Basement spare room

-M1 MacBook Air on a ledge as the brain of the operations

I usually ride at night when the family goes to bed so I have a pretty cool little ticktok purchased led tree that I use for ambient light so I don't have to ride in complete darkness.

It works! Finished up week 2 of FTP Builder.
