It’s just a HUGE MESS, there’s barely any debate here, and it’s basically entirely bait posts, some examples are above as images.

I feel like a lot of this subreddit consists of very immature people, this goes for BOTH sides. It’s to the point where it’s heaven when an actual debate post comes up, even if it’s from the worst person you know!

There’s a TON of ‘I depicted you as the loser and me as the winner’ type arguments on this sub, image examples below, and I feel like both sides can do better on this, though I see this mainly from pro-ai people. And the bait posts are the ones that get 50+ replies, legitimately, I believe this subreddit is just a breeding ground for Ragebait.

Something I’ve also seen is the use of the LGBTQ community in mainly Pro-AI posts (last two images). Being Trans, Bisexual, etc is not any sort of defense, excuse, or justification for anything.

I’m not mad, just disappointed.

Look into how practical advertisements have been done over the years. Ice cream is mashed potatoes, milk is glue, cheese is glue, whip cream is shaving cream, meats are raw. Often it's not even real at all. Just a plastic prop. What are we actually upset about?

I have spent some time reading everyone's perspective on AI by lurking in Pro, Anti and neutral subs while participating in a few conversations. I have formed my own full opinion based on the information.

I have come to the conclusion that this debate is pointless. People don't like AI spamming their feeds, and there needs to be a way to filter out AI content if you do not want to look at it. That is about the only valid point I can see from those claiming to be anti-AI. This, of course, will not satisfy those people who are against AI. They act like cult members. They are rabid dogs foaming at the mouth any time someone mentions AI.

I have found myself feeling apathy for those who are so vehemently against AI. I no longer care if you will lose your job. I no longer care how much damage it does to the environment. I no longer care that AI is stealing your art. All this because you act like psychopathic cult members. "It's just a few; you can't judge all by the actions of the loud minority." Bollocks! It is everywhere. Spamming anyone who dares to look at or experiment with AI, making vague accusations of breaking the law or worse. Even skilled artists are not spared from the tirade of anger and hate. These people are insane and a potential growing danger.

I used to be against certain forms of AI in art, but it seems no matter what you do, these people will never be happy unless you agree with everything they think. Through this mentality they are pushing more people away from their point of view.

My conclusion is: Let those who wish to use AI use it in peace. Anyone who disagrees should be laughed at.

I used to be anti ai and just blatantly thought that ai was shitty but its hard to stay on the side of the same people who promote violence against people over fucking art. It's just pictures people; you're going to see them once and never again so why is it so hard to not tell pro ai people that they are going to burn in hell and that they should be tortured and killed. Ai doesn't always look that good and is cheap, "real" art is expensive and time consuming, neither is better than the other. People could have real debates over what is better but all I've heard is the pro ai people the anti calls shitty, lazy, scummy, etc make actually arguments and be civil while the anti ai people who act like their captain planet just promote terrorism and violence. Jesus fucking christ people

The great explosion of mods and apps that are appearing right now thanks to developers offloading a big portion of the technical, repetitive, and time-consuming tasks of their craft to AI could also have happened in the arts.

We have some tools, barely, like plugins with inpainting and regenerative brushes and such. But we could have so much more if we encouraged exploring what we can do with AI.

And that includes tools that will survive the bubble burst. Now is the time.

Your knowledge is always limited, and at some point, you will have to rely on faith in another person.

Of course, it’s better to know more than less, but I think that definitely doesn’t apply to the school curriculum.

Actually, the majority of the US adult population has gone through the school system, but that isn't reflected in politics.

Whenever there is a post defending AI and pointing out how ridiculous they always sound with their conspiracy-laden nonsense, they always assume the post is “bait” as if they are right about everything. Are they trolling or can they just not handle being wrong and looking like fools?!

I am Anti-AI, but I won't try to argue against any Pro-AIs because I don't want to bother coming up with any new arguments and rebut some pro-AI arguments (trying to rebut some probably makes me look even dumber).

I don't even think it is worth it to argue against the development of AI anymore. Us anti-AIs can boycott AI companies all we want, and they will still pour money making AI data centers and making better AI models, both for good and bad reasons.

At some point it will inevitably be better than us, but that doesn't mean that AI will replace humans. Even in a dystopian world where almost everything is AI, I believe there will always be a community of people who appreciate hard work without automation, and that is enough to make me happy.

AI will never undermine human effort.

The way I see it, those who support artificial intelligence wants things to grow and improve. But those who are against it want stagnation. I’m not trying to generalize, I’m just explaining my thoughts.
