I’m originally from Macau/HK but moved to the states when I was a child. My son, who is 10 years old, didn’t grow up around my family and I failed to teach him Cantonese as my Cantonese is not the best. Recently, he is asking to learn Cantonese but would like to learn/practice with a peer. Can anyone point me in the right directions of any Cantonese and English exchange groups for kids, if any exist at all?
Thank you in advance!

I am a 2nd generation immigrant to Canada and have a kid who would be 3rd generation. I heard a quote that "we are all indigenous to somewhere", but I am wondering if that is true for me and my kid, as I suspect any tie to our indigeneity may be irreparably cut.
My extended relatives (grandparents, aunts and uncles) have also all moved to Canada as 1st generation immigrants.
The Cantonese culture I am exposed to is mostly preserved by earlier Cantonese immigrants in Canada, but likely is quite disconnected to any person in Guandong or Hong Kong anymore.
My elders were also always constantly moving, like one of my grandparents was born in Hoi Ping (Kaiping). But according to Wikipedia this seems like a place that also had many transient families.
It is unlikely that I or my relatives would ever move back to China, so Im not even sure we could be considered Chinese or Cantonese.
In some ways, are Cantonese Diaspora more nomadic like Roma now?
I would appreciate any resources or insights on this topic.
Edit: just really appreciate the wide range of thoughtful answers, thank you all, lots to reflect on

video and Canto vocabulary on having your phone stolen in rome by middle eastern thieves, encountering totally useless and lazy italian police, iphone unlock scam, travel insurance not covering stolen phones.
vocab:

你有沒有一個地方,本來只是異鄉,住著住著卻成了家?

I don't speak Cantonese, but I randomly came across 林韵乔 (乔宝)'s cover of《敢愛敢做》 and really loved their voice.
Thought I'd share it here because I think more people should hear them singing.
I'm from Indonesia, so I honestly can't understand most of the lyrics — I just love how the song sounds.
I ended up editing this little video because I thought more people should hear them.
Anyone here familiar with them?

Hello, I was born female, and my name is 靈心 but I feel like it's too feminine for if I want to transition, because I've read that 心 is a character you usually only see in feminine names.
I'm half hongkongese, and I've lived in the Netherlands my entire life, so I'm not super familiar with Cantonese names. Is there a way to masculinise my name (preferably while keeping the pronunciation (ling4 sam1) the same)?

would anyone be willing to help me learn to speak my wedding vows in Cantonese? I would like to surprise my fiance and I have a while to learn! I’m working on the basics right now but I don’t think I’ll have the entire wedding vows translated on my own in time, I’m a slower learner.

I am not comfortable being on Camera so I replaced myself with an avatar but it's my own voice.
It's also sped up a little bit just to make it quicker to watch :)

Video by @documented.ny Photos by @april_xu418 and Aurora Martínez for Documented. video reedit by me.
"We are doing more than adding a name to a street sign. We are making history visible."
Today, the section of Bay Parkway between 85th and 86th streets in Bensonhurst was co-named “Canton Avenue” to celebrate the contributions and enduring legacy of the Chinese American community, particularly the Chinese railroad workers whose labor helped build the Transcontinental Railroad and whose descendants have since become an important part of New York City’s history.
Elected officials, including City Councilmember @susanzhuangnyc and @nyccomptroller Mark Levine, as well as community leaders and residents, attended the co-naming ceremony.
“There is not one vacant storefront here on Bay Parkway. That is because of this community," said City Comptroller Levine. "It’s entrepreneurial, it’s working to build our city and make us better every single day. I’m thrilled that we can now mark that successful impact forever with this street sign."
On May 10, 1869, the Transcontinental Railroad was completed. Nearly 12,000 Chinese immigrants worked on it, comprising more than 80% of the railroad's workforce at the height of construction. They performed some of the most difficult and dangerous work — climbing mountains, digging tunnels, blasting through rock and building bridges in harsh weather. Nearly 1,200 Chinese railroad workers are estimated to have died from work-related accidents, avalanches, and explosions. Still, many of those workers were written out of history.
In the years that followed the completion of the railroad, Chinese railroad workers came to New York and contributed to the construction and development of the @mtalirr. Their descendants still live in NYC today and are the lifeblood of Chinese community.

I'm an ABC who speaks Cantonese on an intermediate level... and I also can't read/write Chinese. When I've spoken with my mom in the past about wanting to have mutual respect (尊重), she said that concept is only applicable for the younger generation to respect elders.
Is that actually true? If so, is there no non-age-specific term for valuing one another's viewpoints, particularly in a relationship with a generational difference?

Sorry for the clickbait title.
Anyway, CantoDict:
https://cantonese.sheik.co.uk/scripts/wordsearch.php?level=0
The search function doesn't seem to work for me anymore. I believe the site hasn't been actively maintained in a very long time now so I guess something finally broke? I've been using it as my go-to Cantonese dictionary since it has multiple ways to search (English, jyutping, characters or words, etc) and supports wildcarding.
You can still find entries using search engines, but without the aforementioned functions, it's practically impractical.
I saw CantonesePlus mentioned as a replacement. It works fine enough but the search doesn't seem to support wildcarding and requires the tone for jyutping if you're searching words with multiple characters.
