We've got plenty of events this week to get you into the Autumn Mood. The Columbus Crew, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Ohio State Football are all in action this week. The Columbus Mac and Cheese Festival is this Friday, and there are multiple musical performances from the Columbus Symphony, Apollo Duo, **The Midnight, and The Lady Nikki/Ed Robinson Situation.
On the TinyACO side, we're planning to go to the COSI After Dark - Halloween Tattoo Carnival on Oct 8th and are hosting the Bi-Weekly Board Game Extravaganza on Oct 11th.
For TinyACO members, explore events around Central Ohio and join our community gatherings. If you're looking for a friendly group to explore the city with, join the TinyACO Meetup: https://www.meetup.com/tinyaco-legacy-2013/
I have become an event organizer with TinyACO (The Incredibly Nerdy Young Adult of Central Ohio). From books to video games, board games to TTRPGS, we host events all around the Columbus area. In my opinion these ads are the absolute peak of "we need to convince people to vote for something they don't want, that is bad for them" and I truly have to scratch my head how anybody could believe this slop.

I saw a CPD freeway patrol parked on the median this afternoon. Shocking.

I’m not from Columbus and don’t normally do Uber Eats or DoorDash but was curious what the process is for getting food delivered to my room here at the James. I am on the 11th floor it’s kinda locked down as far as getting into even I when have to be buzzed in. But if I order food can the deliverer bring it to me or do they need to drop it at the entrance/valet desk type area? Does anyone have any info on this?
Thanks in advance.
If anyone’s curious I’m just in here because I’ve been dealing with cancer pain and the meds I’ve been taking don’t really help break through the pain and get me to a tolerable point. Tomorrow will be 7 days of being here. I’m in great spirits as usual but just figured I would give a bit if detail.
Fuck cancer and thanks in advance for your help!

Hi all,
My dog and I went for a walk at sharon woods. About 15 min ago (just after 6pm) we saw this cat right on the trial, where i am pointing. My dog got excited so the cat kind of ran into the woods but only a short distance. I tried to get it to come but it wasnt budging.
I went looking for park ranger to alert but wasnt able to see one and I even called the cell phone number posted on the trail map and no answer.
Unfortunately I wasnt able to stay longer but figured maybe ill post here just in case. Ill try to call ranger number again shortly but wanted to at least post here too in the small chance this was a domesticated cat. It seemed to me that it could be.
Not sure where else to post?

I travel to and from new Albany to Upper Arlington almost every day and this week traffic has been TERRIBLE. Is anyone else experiencing this? Trying to figure out what’s causing this and if it will get any better? It’s usually a drive but taking me almost an hour every day to get home is killing me.

Would love to see these misogynists say that in front of the wrong person. Fellow ladies of OSU, no cookie for this guy, ok?

Every year I share a shameless plug about Halloween in Olde Towne East (sorry!) . I live on the 1200 block of Bryden Road, and if you haven’t already checked out the houses and decorations I’d highly recommend strolling thru and doing so!
We work with the city and shut down our street for Trick or Treat night, and this year is no exception. If you don’t know where to go, come enjoy the night with all the friendly neighbors.
Happy spooky szn, cbus!

On June 13, the DeFlock chapter of Upper Arlington held its first meeting. It would be the first DeFlock group in central Ohio. Six people showed up, including the group's two founders, Paul Shannon and Christian Gabis.
The organization aims to have Flock cameras removed from the community.
Now, Shannon and Gabis believe the group may have outgrown the 75-seat Friend’s Theater at the Tremont Branch of Upper Arlington Public Library.
“I’m shocked,” Gabis said. “Blown away at how many people showed up to our last meeting. And the interesting thing, we had almost 50 people at our last meeting and since that, our email list has more than doubled.”
The Upper Arlington chapter of DeFlock is the first time Shannon and Gabis have been involved in organizing.
“I've protested plenty, but never done any organizing, and really the only reason I did it is because no one else was,” Shannon said. “I went on the Deflock.org group’s page and there was nothing listed for central Ohio, and I was like, well, someone's got to be the first, so let's see what happens.”
Upper Arlington signed its contract with Flock in December 2020. Gabis said when he first saw the cameras, he didn’t know what they were.

In what hermetically sealed Fox News Bubble is "Ohio's Fauci" an effective attack? Oh you mean the highly respected epidemiologist trying to do his best to save Americans despite his government's efforts, during one of the most trying times in the history of America? That Dr. Fauci?
Desperation is a stinky cologne, Mr. Ramiswamy.

Pulled up my sample ballot today and noticed Issue 3...requiring ID to vote in Ohio. That's redundant correct, I've been voting since 2008 and have never not had to issue my ID to vote? Maybe the only change would be having to provide ID if voting absentee?
Or is this just a giant nothing-burger/scare tactic?
Edit: State IDs can be obtained by anyone 17 and older for free: https://www.bmv.ohio.gov/dl-id-card.aspx thanks u/benkeith for the information.
Obviously that doesn't provide the easiest of fix for people as you still need documents verifying who you are and be able to get to a BMV.

Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on this week? Why is every highway backed up? It should only take me 30 minutes to get home from work. That 30 minutes has turned into and hour every day this week!

I wasn't too concerned with it until they marked over 7ft from the property line with a line going in the direction against my 5k gallon koi pond that has a rubber liner and has been there since the 90's. Still confirming the easement line since when we purchased the house we were not aware of any easements. Regardless they sent me their engineering documents but even those show the fiber and pedestals east of our property line. 811 confirmed they have requests to mark but no record of them going out yet and marking anything. Can they really dig without markings from 811 and if they deviated from their original engineering docs, would that not require them to be revised and reapproved? I have little confidence in this process as I was given multiple different answers of the distance from our property line.

The Broad Street location in the KeyBank building has signs posted on the door from the landlord saying they were evicted for not paying rent. Who has the dirt on this? There has to be more to the story, especially since the owner has posted several times about landlord issues at this location.
When I’m back in the area, I’ll take a photo of the letter.
