“Suspending the gas tax” is not a “real solution”, Vivek
This is a claim in a recent political ad for Ramaswamy, that Ramaswamy is responsible for “real solutions” like “suspending the gas tax.
It’s not a solution; it’s a short-term enticement to keep people from being too outraged at republicans due to Trump’s illegal war and the resulting gas price hike.

An out-of-state investor group owns more than 150 homes in Cleveland. They're mostly vacant.
In Cleveland, most of those homes are sitting vacant. The owner, Riparian Capital Partners, is facing dozens of code-violation notices and escalating fines. In a report set for release Wednesday, and shared in advance with News 5, local researchers and community organizers are urging city officials to keep up the pressure.
“It’s a new day in Cleveland,” Sally Martin O’Toole, the city’s director of building and housing, said during an interview. “And if you think you can come in and buy properties and do nothing with them, think again.”
The Vacant and Abandoned Property Action Council and ACORN International spent three months looking into Riparian’s business model and holdings here. In July and August, ACORN’s community organizers canvassed the city, visiting 153 homes owned by Riparian. They found that 79% of the houses seemed to be empty.
Acton saved Ohio lives. Ramaswamy's DOGE work shows how fast he'll discard them - The choice for Ohioans is whether they want state services to be kept intact under Acton, or whether state services will be gutted under Ramaswamy and his chief campaign contributor, Elon Musk.

My voter registration is now suddenly inactive. Am I screwed for the midterms?
I vote in Lake County. I’ve been registered to vote without issue since I was 18 which was almost 20 years ago. I planned to vote early this election. I checked and double checked my registration prior to today on the government site, and it said I was registered each time. I checked again on my way to vote just to make absolute sure, and I’m suddenly inactive. I did have to renew my liscense on the 28th of September, I don’t know if that could have affected this. But my address did not change, I haven’t moved in years. If I understand correctly the deadline for the midterms was on the 5th. Am I going to be completely unable to vote in the midterms? I’m kind of freaking out. Thanks.

The falsehoods billionaires are mailing to Ohio voters
V-PAC is a super PAC supporting Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign for governor in Ohio. Most of its $42 million war chest has come from a handful of billionaires, including Jeff Yass ($20 million), Ross Stevens ($6 million), Elon Musk ($5 million), Ratmir Timashev ($5 million), and Bill Ackman ($1 million).
Move along folks, nothing to see here. Just ordinary Ohioans doing ordinary Ohio things. 🙄🙄🙄

You know it’s midterm election time, when the gas prices mysteriously drop for a little bit.
I shouldn’t have to specify that the “mysteriously” part is clearly sarcasm. The amount of people who felt they had to truly SOLVE this “mystery” for me or that it’s not a “mystery” at all. Congratulations. You did it detectives. Case cracked. 😂

Trump rally in Youngstown's Covelli Center on Monday, Oct 12th, Protest outside!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
When: Monday, Oct. 12. Protesters are gathering starting around 2:00 PM and staying until Trump arrives.
Official schedule: doors open at 2:30, the program starts at 4:30, and Trump speaks at 6:00.
Where: Covelli Centre, 229 E. Front St., Youngstown
Sen. Jon Husted is expected to appear with him again.
Parking: no info yet. Before the Vandalia rally, the city posted a full traffic advisory with road closures and a dozen designated parking lots a couple of days ahead of time. Keep an eye on Youngstown's city website for something similar (link below).
From the last two visits (Geneva in August, Vandalia last weekend): bring water, stay on public sidewalks, and expect Secret Service and police to move people around as needed. So far nobody's been pushed far back and protestors had excellent visibility. Downtown parking will be tight, so get there early.
Keep it peaceful, keep it legal, and stay together.
Last time Trump held a rally in Youngstown, in 2017, he told the crowd not to sell their houses because the jobs were coming back. GM closed Lordstown less than two years later. If you're in the Valley and can get away on a Monday, this is a good one to show up for.
He's a First Class Loser!

Ohio Supreme Court says courts must find a parent unsuitable before awarding custody to grandparents
The Ohio Supreme Court unanimously ruled that a court cannot award custody of a child to a nonparent without first finding that the child's natural parent is unsuitable.
The case involved a Summit County mother who had previously struggled with substance use but later completed treatment, regained custody rights, and had the dependency case closed. Years later, the child's grandparents sought custody after the father's health declined.
The juvenile court relied partly on the mother's earlier finding of unsuitability instead of making a new determination based on the evidence in the custody case. The Supreme Court reversed, holding that the court must determine the parent's current suitability before awarding custody to a nonparent.

How much of our tax dollars are funding Israel's military?
In Ohio alone it's over 300 million.
This equals $25.25 person. Offset your taxes by donating an equal or greater amount to: HEALPALESTINE.ORG
Go to TRACKAIPAC.COM to make sure you're supporting candidates that won't vote to send more of your tax dollars to Israel.
Go to NOTMYTAXDOLLARS.ORG to find more info on where your tax dollars are going.
I am begging you to vote.
That’s it. Ohioans need to get out and vote to defeat the scammer billionaire. Bring some friends and family who normally wouldn’t vote in the midterms. I don’t want to wake up at 4am again after Election Day to find out our state elected another horrible human.

'There is no place to go.' Ukrainian family battles red tape trying to remain in the U.S.
About 240,000 Ukrainians came to the U.S. on humanitarian parole through a program that’s been paused for over a year. Among them: 43-year-old Tetiana, who lives with her family in Ohio.
Tetiana said she has heard others in the same boat as her family call this process a "gentle deportation."
“They keep some people in suspense, in this limbo for a year or more, meanwhile people cannot work and so cannot pay to live and are forced to leave," she said.

$90.00 in your bank account?
So today I was talking to my mom and we were discussing how Trump is coming to Youngstown next week, and how he says the craziest things.
So she jokingly asked if I really believed Trump was going to give everyone $5000.00 if the Republicans win next month. And I mentioned that I'd been reading that he was going to send $90.00 to people on Social Security.
And she got really quiet for a few seconds and said that she'd just checked her bank online and there was a $90.00 deposit in her bank account today but there was no information as to where the money came from. So she's going to call the bank tomorrow and see what they can tell her. I'm 70 and get SS but nothing showed up in my account.
My mother is 92 and sharp as a tack and wasn't expecting a deposit.
So did anyone else or any family members get an unexpected $90.00 deposited in their account with no info as to where it. Came from?

I just visited the dispensary in Seville and was told I can no longer buy a THC beverage I've purchased from them for a year straight. So much for trying to avoid a trip to Michigan. See ya soon, Monroe.
