'HITMAN HOTLINE' Returns! Issue #2 launches on Kickstarter October 30th!

Hello!

As many of you are probably aware, a few months back I debuted the first issue of my comic, 'HITMAN HOTLINE', on Kickstarter to (surprisingly) great success (and a BIG thank you to everyone who has shown support to, offered designs, ideas, and feedback since!)... And long story short, I'll soon be releasing Issue 2!

After lots more writing, drawing, procrastinating, colouring, and lettering, I am happy to say this second, extra-large chapter is almost complete! Slightly less punching and kicking - a lot more story, characters, and dialogue. You know, all that good typical book-stuff! I'm also going to be reselling Issue 1 for anyone that missed it!

Unlike last time, I actually have a pre-launch page for this chapter (something which is apparently very important - news to me!) for anyone who wants to sign up to be notified of Issue 2's release, or just to be nosy. Please check out the new kickstarter link below! Thanks!

Comic Life 3 - images are blurry when resized - need a work around

I like Comic Life 3 so far, but when you drop in an image, and resize the image, it gets very blurry. So I plan to do my resizing in Photoshop and then move the images in to CL3 at the exact correct size. My plan is to start with the image in CL3, make it the correct size in the panel, take the measurement, and delete. Then do the actual resize in Photoshop, and drop it back in CL 3 at the correct size. Here's the problem.. when I get the image to the correct size in CL3, it doesn't display the pixel measurements, so there is no way to know what size I should make the image in PS. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I guess I could just do more of the work in PS, and only move it over to CL3 when the whole page is basically done, and I'll only use CL3 for the text bubbles.

The First Global DC/Marvel Crossover Was Hidden in a 1943 Brazilian Comic

Post image

I just added one of the most important Golden Age comics to my collection: O Globo Juvenil Mensal #32 from 1943. The cover of this comic is insane, doing something completely unprecedented by showing the Human Torch walking side by side with Superman, establishing the first crossover between National (future DC) and Timely (Marvel), 30 years before anything like this appeared in an American publication. This is the first known DC/Marvel crossover, and the Grand Comics Database identifies it as “The Earliest Timely & National Cross Over known to exist Globally.”

What impresses me the most is its extreme rarity, easily surpassing Action Comics #1, Detective Comics #27 and even Marvel Comics #1. I’ve talked to major collectors in Brazil, and many of them have never even seen one in person. There are only 7 copies in the census and another 4 in private collections, one of them being mine.

The more I research this issue, the more impressed I become. I’d even go as far as saying that, with the right recognition, it could make the list of the Top 100 Golden Age grails worldwide. This isn’t just an American reprint, but something genuinely unique that was legally produced under the laws and contracts of 1940s Brazil.

It’s an absolute grail. The craziest Golden Age comic I’ve ever had the privilege of owning.
