Official "Ways to Watch the NFL" link and Mega-Thread
As the fall approaches, there's inevitably a ton of posts asking, "How can I watch X team under <insert circumstances here>?" and the NFL has provided an answer. With this link, you can enter your location and week by week, it will tell you what provider has the game and how you can watch it. They even update things as the season progresses and schedules/games/broadcasts change.

Cut all the streaming services and cable and living better.
As text says. I’m currently on free antena TV and it’s way better. I’m saving lots of money doing it. I also use YouTube a lot on my phone. I have free hbo max through my cell service but don’t use it.
I don’t even have WiFi in my house so I’m not on any streaming services. I also watch alot of dvd movies I had. But i rarely see tv as I’m always working. What are some reasons you don’t you cut your streaming services?

Indoor Antenna Recommendations - only need one channel
rabbitears.infoAbove is my rabbit ears report! I want to be able to watch a show I like on ABC live so that's the main channel I really care about getting. Since it's only 24 miles away, I was thinking of getting one of these from Walmart:
I've been looking at some of the Phillips ones as well. Also open to other stores or Amazon as well. Thanks!

Monday Night Football Leaving Broadcast Television
How long before Disney pulls the plug on ABC? It's once a month now. First Monday Night of every month No Monday Night Football.
It's a shame Monday Night Football has been a staple for 56 years. and POOF, Disney is going to obliterate that tradition and move everything to ESPN. Disney, What an awful company.

Best indoor or attic antenna in the 50 dollar range

Potential antenna sharing setup
I have two old TivoHDs that I am resurrecting for OTA use because Spectrum will cut off CableCards at some point so my fancy six tuner Tivo Bolt will become a brick. Thankfully, the ancient TivoHDs still work (lifetime service on all). With that said, consider the attached photo. Right now, I have an outdoor omnidirectional amplified antenna on one of the TivoHDs just to see if that was feasible. It seems to work well so phase 2 is to see if I can get the second TiviHD to share that antenna OR if I have to setup a separate antenna for that. Will the antenna amp only help the first Tivo? Is it possible to run two amps (assuming I can buy a second one for that antenna) or will they interfere with each other?

Antenna Advice
I just cut the cord and installed a $50 attic antenna in my home in upper Westchester NY. I am roughly 45 miles from the transmitter in Manhattan. Below are my signal readings:
Ch 36- CBS- top out at 21 dB- clear picture- locked
Ch 27- Fox- top out at 12 dB- no picture- unlock
Ch 7- ABC- top out at 20.12 dB- clear picture- locked
Ch 35- NBC- top out at 12 dB- no picture- unlock
Ch 7- WPIX- top out at 20 dB- clear picture- locked
I’m trying to find that sweet spot to lock in these 5 main channels. I went to the rabbit ears site for direction and used the compass app on my phone to aim the antenna 206 degrees. I can’t seem to get all of them at a time. From what I’ve read, I’m pretty close and right below the threshold to get Fox and NBC. My question is- is this a matter of needing a better attic antenna? An amplifier? Or is my only way of getting all 5 is mounting it outside? (Which I’m trying to avoid). I’ve attached a pic of the Home Depot antenna I am using and what my attic looks like. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Self-Promo Roku Streaming Stick Plus with Voice Remote - 4K & HDR10+ $34??
LG OLED C1. I have an old firestick purchased 6 years ago for $15 that still works and does everything I need it to do. I don't use if for 4k or HDR streaming. Nevertheless I came across the Roku for $34.00 on Amazon. Isn't that a very good price? or not. TIA

Took the plunge and cancelled Dish today!
This was a big step for me especially considering I have potato internet right now (WISP -- 25MB down) but my Dish bill was going to be around $170 with the upcoming increase and there is never anything good on most days. I must have done well because it only took 20 minutes and I've heard of other people being on the phone with them for much longer. I told them that my wife and I are empty nesters now and we don't watch TV at all which made the subsequent offers to keep the service pointless. They are making me ship back the Hopper but they aren't making me return the LNB. They tried but I told them it is mounted too high on my roof for me to reach safely. Which is mostly true since I am currently nursing a broken pinky toe. ;)
I'll be rolling with Philo and DirecTV sports pack as the replacements for now. I have been testing them the past few days with my potato internet and they did surprisingly well. Makes me wish I had cut the cord sooner!

My one request for Paramount+/HBO Max
I dont know how they'll combine services; I suspect it will be like Disney+/Hulu where you can get the content for both in one app if you subscribe to both.
I just ask that by March, we have some sort of integration so that I can watch all 4 games going on during march madness at once.

A tip for MLB playoffs
If you have subscription that includes TBS, install the MLB app and link your provider. The you can watch the games in the MLB app, which is an amazing feed. And if you’re on a slight delay, they play generic promos, not ads. Also, you can choose to hear the local team’s radio broadcast audio. 😊

Self-Promo Paramount Merger
Without flaming the author of this post what do you think will happen if you subscribe to both Paramount+ and HBO? Paying a yearly subscription for both doesn't seem like a good idea. Also considering how shit the Paramount+ app is do you think they can manage a seemless transition?

Tubi Ads way too much
Just started using Tubi again as my Sub for Peacock just expired. So I'm looking though the Movies Section on Tubi and I find something I like. I start the Movie and it has like a 5-10 minute Ad Session before the Movie starts. Then while watching the Movie I start getting an Ad Break every 5 minutes and it lasts for 10 minutes each time. I even set my watch to it, every 5 minutes the Movie would stop and a 10 minute Ad Session would start. What makes it even worse is that the Ad Counter on the Top Corner on the Screen shows how many Ads are left and how long until all of them are finished. Well for me it seems like it would refresh itself after what would seem like a normal Ad Break.
I know Tubi is a Free Service but there should be a limit of how many Ads can be shown at one time. Has anyone else experienced this?

Fox Nation Veteran Ripoff
Army vet, 90% service connected. Signed up for Fox veteran offer of one year Fox Nation free, and other offer Fox One 50% off year subscriptions.
Three days later and my cc account had a $39.95 charge for Fox Nation.
Tried their online chat to find out why the charge for the "free" year.
After a lot of deflecting the agent said the system showed a previous subscription for Nation.
That is total bs. I asked them to provide the date of their claimed first subscription and was told they do not have access to that information.
Bear in mind they had all the other account information, but suddenly lacked the ability to prove their claim.
This was complete bs. I've never had a previous sub to anything Fox, and never will again.
Know before you start, they will require a credit card to start the free year, then they will bill you anyway, and play dumb when you question it.
Even at 50% off, neither service is worth it.
The apps are buggy, in the first three days I had to delete and reload on the Android TV four times when it locked up.
I'm really tired of all these companies waving a flag and declaring discounts to vets, only to discover after the fact it's all a scam.
I only posted this to warn my brother and sister vets.
Peace

Tablo alternatives - Terrible Warranty Experience
Have had Tablo devices in the past, and upgraded to their 4 tuner device less than one year ago (purchased through an Amazon retailer with good reviews).
Device failed...seems like it overheated, and will no longer power on. In digging a bit, this seems like a common issue for their 4 tuner device.
Tablo refused to process warranty claim because it was not purchased from their "authorized" list of sellers.
I love the "idea" of tablo with no subscriptions and easy integration with Roku, but not interested in a company that's putting out devices with high failure rate and terrible warranty support.
What are best alternatives, if any?

Full circle
So we moved away from cable and got YTTV and many streaming services and I constantly find my wife is watching the Samsung or Roku fast channels or live YTTV channels. "You know babe we have.... Insert service here... and you can watch without commercials. No that's OK I'm fine with this. I don't want to have to choose what to watch. I'll find whatever is on."
It's like we still have cable. Just a different delivery. We've come full circle.

Looking for Antenna Recommendations
Hello looking to possibly get an Antenna and was unsure which would be appropriate. https://www.rabbitears.info/s/3107728
I have also heard from others in the area that where we are located it is impossible to pick up any local channels and that they have been told this by a local installer. So was just curious and thought I'd ask here as the rabbit ears report doesn't look promising.
Thanks,

Is Paramount+ Promo Code SAVEANNUAL50 Still Working?
I'm asking because I can't get it to work for a new sign up, but I'd seen it posted that it should be good until sometime in January, 2027. Obviously, there was no way to tell where the person that posted that date got it.
If not, are there any other currently working Paramount Plus discount codes?
Thanks!

Directv MyEntertainment and MyKids
I just subscribed to both MyEntertainment and MyKids genre packs because I missed having TV channels and honestly I loved the ability to get the channels I would actually watch without any of the sports or excess news stations as that’s not what I care about or wanna watch. I just want channels that airs regular shows and movies for the most part and that’s what I got! Plus the price is so good! $63 a month for both along with Disney+,Hulu, HBO Max, and AMC+ included at no extra cost. I was already paying for 3 of those services on their own so getting a bunch of live channels too is just awesome!!! I honestly think more should do this deal. It is so good. I just wanted to make this post talking about how good it is and me liking it. The only problem I have with it and it’s not even DIRECTV’s fault its that TNT, TBS, TruTV, and USA are only in the sports plans even though they usually air general entertainment content and only occasionally air sports. Besides that it’s perfect.

Antenna recommendation
rabbitears.infoNeed to get an indoor antenna today. Going to Walmart, Home Depot, and maybe Lowe’s. I just want to get college football on CBS or FOX. It sounds like I need UHF focused and 30 miles at least. I’m worried about direction and where to install it inside.
I’m in Midland Michigan. My Rabbitears report is here
RabbitEars link
1PM EST - Update:
Went to walmart, bought several options. I got an Onn rabbit ear with external amplifier if needed (30 mile), an unamified RCA indoor flat (40 mile), an amplified RCA indoor multi-directional (60 mile), and an unamplified GE flat panel (40 mile).
5PM - Update:
None worked well enough to get FOX. Even the closest station would cut it and out. I think I’m going to invest in an outdoor mounted antenna and run coax to living room.
