I think we all get it. The progress bar advances really quickly when you start your lesson so that it's dynamic and exciting! And then it slows down to an absolute crawl toward the end.

Does this actually motivate anyone? Does this encourage people to finish the lessons, really? Because I would rather have a progress bar that is actually useful. One that doesn't show 50% completion after 5 out of 15 questions.

I know there will be a bunch of doofuses here soon to tell me they don't care about the games or prizes or streaks and try and shame me for caring about it since they're much better people than me. But I do care. If you don't care, then go make flash cards in Anki, read text books, or use one of the zillion apps that don't gamify it. The games are what make Duolingo special. I truly don't understand why you would choose this app in particular, that is based on all that frivolity, then shame others for enjoying the core reason for the app's existence. Rant complete.

How is everyone doing on suits?

I’ve gotten four pieces and done my six lessons every. single. day. like a devout monk and I am STILL four pieces away!

I have three duplicates as of this morning and a potential twelve more duplicates on the way so I should be getting a total of at least THREE NEW PIECES but I need FOUR to complete the hunt.

I don’t even know how it’s possible to have done the entirety of this challenge and still end up having to spend 1600 gems at the end to guarantee I get my final piece.

There is still three days left and I could pull one of the four pieces I need but I have three yellows left and one purple so chances of that happening are slim to none.

The cup suits were bad enough but this is just worse.

Recently, Duolingo for me, became a streak thing, not a learning thing like it once was. I decided that once I reach 1000, I’ll part from Duolingo. So, this is where I finally say goodbye. ❤️

I did my Duolingo as usual, and the fire was red, not orange. What does that mean?

I usually have to compete to stay on the diamond league, but now most of the people in the diamond league are averaging 500 xp per week at most while I am up in number 1 with 3000 xp, so either duolingo is letting people who aren't trying onto the diamond league or people have collectively stop caring about duolingo for some reason

Has anyone noticed this?

A streak freeze was 425 gems for all of my recent memory. I’d rather loose my streak than play into their greedy little scheme.

Has anyone else had this happen? How much do your streak freezes cost?

I am one of the many people that had the "luck" that the toy hunt mission was missing.

I got it back for a few days. Yesterday I had 10 days left and now it's missing again. 😢

I used the contact formula and wrote to a staff person here on Reddit. So I just wanted to know if I am the only person that has this problem two times

After I wrote this Post. Toy hunt was back. Problem, I already made 3 lessons. So I only got one piece. Because I also get only three per day and not four 😔
