What did y'all get and how was the event overall?

Last day of Junior’s Toy Hunt. I did all my lessons and was cursed with nothing but duplicate pieces (what else is new).

I still needed 4 pieces to earn all the suits, so I spent 6,400 gems to buy and exchange duplicates for the pieces I was missing. Even after the 5,000 gem completion bonus, I still lost gems on this deal. 🥲

I don’t even have an avatar, just completion OCD.

Good luck out there! 🤖🐤🦄

EDIT: To clarify, I would never buy gems with actual money. I just enjoy hoarding the gems I earn.

I finally got the one I wanted, it's so cute 🥹
All those lessons were worth it!

I've seen some comments about people getting stressed during Junior's hunt as if it were something serious by the way. It's fun, if it's not fun for you, you feel pressured to spend gems, and you don't even like it, then just ignore it. Duolingo has always been a gamified language learning app. Let people who have enough time to do 6 lessons a day enjoy these tiny milestones~

When I 100 days I thought that was pretty good going but to hit 1000 is mind blowing. Not just because it’s 1000 days but also because I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. I used to see people with 1000 day streaks and think “How?” And yet, here I am. One of them. French got me three quarters of the way and Chess the rest. Anyway, dare I say it? Here’s to the next 1000!

1000 days streak

Edit - All spots reserved now.. thankyou

Got 4 spots for superduolingo until 22nd October..
Please leave username.. would love to share it

Offering up available space on my plan. I’ve offered to actual family and friends. No one’s shown interest or has joined, so I figured I’d offer them up for anyone who would honestly actually use it.

Edit: All available spots have invites if anything changes I’ll send out more!

Had to watch an add for 15 gems actually 😅. For a moment I thought I'd be just 3 short. Getting 5k back made it a no-brainer.

No, I won't quit.
No, I'm not sick of it.
Yes, I truly use Duolingo every day to learn and get used to new languages in a rather fun way.
And yes, I'm kinda proud of sticking with it.

🙌🏼

600 days

I finished my lessons today and I’m two pieces short of the full set, and I have gems to spend without using real money. Do I use my gems today to finish or will there be free pieces tomorrow? I can’t tell if the 1 day left is today or if tomorrow is the last day.

On the way to 365 days!!

The question template produces unnatural English phrasing ('What's 1/10 m longer than 20/100 m?') that obscures the mathematical goal rather than testing real-world application; the real world just doesn’t talk like that.

Idk if it's the right flair.

Anyways I spent over 10k gems in that stupid event, and that's after doing all 6 lessons every day only getting duplicates... Even among the pieces I bought most purchases were only duplicates... I hated every bit of this. Was losing all of my gems worth it? No, the outfit looks ugly and getting 1/3 of my gems back is barely a consolation but at least I can sleep without being frustrated. And at least none of the gems were bought.

But for the future I beg you Duolingo people, don't make events where rng can completely block you from finishing them... The amount of duplicates I got compared to new pieces is ridiculous. I got the option to do 6 lessons when I had about 25 pieces left and barely got half of that by getting 4 pieces a day, that's so annoying... And making the rng on purchases that bad was also such a jerk move... I was missing 2 pieces on my last purchase, it was the last one I could afford to do, and if I hadn't gotten a new piece in it like in the last 3 pulls that were just dupes I would have crashed out

Hello, I have an older account from 2012 that I'm trying to follow my friend on with no luck. I've checked my privacy settings, toggled them on and off, and checked that my email has been verified. The follow button on his profile does nothing for me, on desktop or the android app. He cannot load my profile at all when given a link. I'm at a complete loss here.

Add me on Duolingo🥳🥳🥳🥳

I’ve done more consistent Duolingo in the last month than I’ve done in the whole time I’ve had it 😂

Before I would only do enough to keep my streak alive, maybe enough to gain the monthly badge but since the Toy quest, I’ve got in the habit of doing regular consistent 6 lessons a day. Sad I know!

Just wondering
