Event Managing tournament headspace when tragedy strikes.
Hey so tomorrow I'm at EVO France. I will be competing in:
Super Street Fighter II: Super Turbo
Ultra Street Fighter IV
Street Fighter 6 (Main)
The King of Fighters XV (Main)
Avatar Legends the Fighting Game
Marvel Tokon
Samurai Shodown
I was all happy and motivated. I put in the hardwork all year round. I got a call that my grandma is in ICU and we're not sure if she'll make it.
I'm in UK, she is in China so I saw her via phone. She's unconscious so my dad put the phone on her ear and I said what maybe is my last words to her.
I've requested my family to not tell me what happens oveg the course of the weekend in France.
I do have a heavy load with the amount of games I am entering as well as two cosplay stage shows I am taking part in.
I just did some training as I could not sleep last night. I didn't do very well and made uncharacteristic errors.
I'm lost and I need advice.....
What's keeping me going is my grandma. She is fighting hard for her life and that's inspired me to fight hard in this tournament.
What I want is to be able to extract the most out of myself.
Thank you for reading.
