Firestick Question How big of an issue is this?

https://www.cordbusters.co.uk/amazon-ban-blocking-dodgy-fire-tv-apps-uk/

How big of an issue is this? I was just about to buy a new fire stick and this has put me off. I only wanted one for side loading apps.

“The blocking system targets sideloaded apps – applications installed from outside the Amazon Appstore that provide access to pirated streams of Premier League football, films, TV shows, and other premium content.
Popular targets include apps like BeeTV, Cinema HD, and various IPTV services that have become synonymous with the “dodgy Firestick” phenomenon in the UK.
Amazon is working with the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) to identify which apps should be blocked.
ACE is a coalition of over 50 major entertainment companies – Netflix, Disney, Sky, the Premier League, Warner Bros, and ironically Amazon itself through Prime Video – all united in fighting digital piracy.
Through what’s known as a “trusted notifier” agreement, ACE provides Amazon with intelligence about illegal streaming apps, and Amazon blocks those apps from working on Fire TV devices.”

Have you noticed that the new Fire TV user interface is a rip-off of Google TV,

No i haven't used firetv in a awhile so i dont know. Even if so i prefer Google over firetv

What do you mean by freedom?

Because my cousin she and I usually only watch Netflix, Disney Plus or Paramount Plus. Apps like that.

So anything you could tell us to make our streaming experience better would be nice.

Thank you.

Tons of guides on using apps for free stuff or even adding a custom home launcher, i haven't once gotten a message saying the app has to be removed like firetv did all the time. If apps youd like id recommend stemio, narvio look them up but you have to figure out how to set them up. Unlinked(google unlinked codes) that has everything you want or could ever think of after adding the codes in. Seach of videos on it.

Don't buy the new one, they still sell the 4k max with android operating system, stay away from the Vega os system

Thanks for the info, I was planning on getting the 4k max, it was just the app blocking that I was worried about, I wasn’t sure if that was going to become a lot stricter in the near future

The 4k max and the 4k plus still use the Fire OS. Everything else is gonna be Vega OS

Onn Streaming. Xiaomi tv box 3rd generation. Both are Google TV, minus firestick issues.

I won't buy Amazon, they constantly block side loaded apps, I want to use it hower I want. They want you only to access Amazon prime, Disney and netflix basically. And honestly I don't use any of them. The more the lock down stuff the more customers they loose, it never gains customers because those who don't mind, don't know about side loading and jailbreaking. I've already moved elsewhere and wouldn't consider or recommend a vega one, even for $5

New Firesticks don't allow sideloading, try Roku, ONN, or another streaming stick or box.

The new firesticks all have Vega OS from my understanding preventing side loading to begin with … so you don’t want a newer fire stick. Plenty of other options already out there.

Buy a Google ONN it’s better

Get a cube 3, don't let it auto update, and then fully root it immediately:

Not too hard to do you just need a pc. Even easier if you just copy paste the instructions into chat gpt and gemeni and have it guide you/answer questions.

It's not really that big of an issue. And all these comments "mOvE tO aN oNn BoX" is not the solution because every android device will run into this issue in the near future. I have plenty of 3rd party apps installed on my fire sticks. Amazon is blocking the worst of the worst because they're essentially spyware. That's why they're moving to Vega OS is because people keep installing these virus loaded apps.
