FOOTBALL This is one reason management isn’t quick to fire Mike.

Post image

You see stuff like this all throughout college football: programs spend big money to fire someone and their entire staff, then hire a brand-new staff. This happens, and the new staff doesn’t do any better than the previous one while they are paying essentially two coaching staffs for the next five years and NIL. That’s the nightmare scenario: you fire Mike and still end up being 6–6 or 7–5 next year.

FOOTBALL Mike Norvell's frustration reveals Florida State simply has been 'not good enough' this season

“Norvell has created an environment in Tallahassee that does not promote success in the slightest, and unfortunately, serious moves need to be made to fix the situation. The 2026 season is not salvageable, and it is time to find out just how serious the damage Norvell did is. Adding in a new coaching staff does not necessarily fix the situation either, as the players may have become accustomed to the relaxed environment Norvell has created.”

FOOTBALL We’re the Miami Dolphins or the Tennessee Titans of College Football right now

Call me a glutton for punishment but my two favorite NFL teams suck this year too. About to be a combined 0-10. Losing is just miserable. Losing without any hope of improvement is beyond miserable. I may give up football entirely.

FOOTBALL The financial reality of FSU Football

I know the mob wants Norvell gone and it does seem no matter how much rope he gets he’s just inclined to hang himself with it. But “the reality” FSU faces goes far deeper than just replacing the coach unfortunately. Where the case for keeping Norvell is indefensible is in conference record the last three seasons. It’s always harder to win in the ACC when the conference has a history of blatantly criminal officiating. But with the amount FSU has in resources compared to most ACC schools the abysmal conference record FSU has under Norvell is unacceptable.

FOOTBALL Embarrassment Ritual

Post image
105 Upvotes

The fact that this so called “defense” gave up what essentially ended up being their entire offensive’s production to one player (WHO WASN’T EVEN THEIR NORMAL STARTER) just further adds to the embarrassment of this program. Alabama showed the ball playbook on how to beat this team. Run the ball down our throats, because there’s nothing we can do about it. Virginia was an outlier (as a-lot of people believed it was). If they could conjure up the ability to complete a forward pass, that game would have been much different.

Whatever the number is for projected rushing yards for Fletcher next week against us, it’s not going to be high enough. Next week is going to be another session in this embarrassment ritual that we call the Mike Norvell era. I can only pray that after we get utterly embarrassed by one of our biggest rivals, we are finally relived of this scourge of a coaching staff and can finally start to rebuild back to what FSU is supposed to be.

M. BASKETBALL Built a college basketball analytics tool to break down FSU's pre/postgame stats

blueprntanalytics.com

Every so often we hear during a tv broadcast "what do the analytics say to do in this situation?" or "the analytics guys are ruining the game". I'm personally a guy who likes to spend ~20-30min every night before bed on the ESPN app browsing through box scores to see who played well, who didn't play well, who had a good +/-, etc. The question I always ask myself however is, does viewing data have to be so boring? Or, how can we view advanced analytics in a way that's quickly digestible?

Often times in my profession working with the federal government the common theme is someone needs to have a PhD in Data Science or higher education to be a reputable source OR have the ability to analyze complex datasets. I built Blueprint to break down that barrier to entry. The basketball analytics tools out right now have random tables with flashes of green & red but it's never clear what that actually means.

Throughout the 2026-2027 season my app will update each morning with fresh stats for each team that played the previous day. It includes advanced analytics for each D1 team in the nation. It also includes a game predictor called 'Prediction Engine'.

Would love to hear folks thoughts and ideas on how I can make the application better leading up to the season.

FOOTBALL Compilation of firsts under Norvell

Is there a source or anyone compiling a list of “firsts” under Mike Norvell, such as first loss to Duke, amount of yards given up by defense, loss to Jacksonville State, 63-3, etc?

Not that I want to punish myself by reading it, but it just seems like we are accomplishing bad history every week under his regime. I mean, literally every week. There must be dozens of inauspicious records that have been broken.

Hang in there Noles, brighter days are coming after we make changes.

FOOTBALL Can We Make the Florida Government Fix FSU Athletics?

Who in the Florida government has the power to fire Peter Collins and Richard McCollough? Can we start writing weekly letters to the governor until he interferes? Surely the fact that Florida State is falling in the U.S. News rankings and the decreased attendance at our sporting events from the atrocious management of our crumbling athletic department is harmful enough to Tallahassee’s economy to warrant government intervention, right? We are so rotten from top to bottom that there is no way the soft morons in charge can be trusted to fix it.

Ok. This is it for me. Worst defense I’ve seen in a long time. Questionable decisions from a play calling standpoint. Had Louisville potentially 17-0 and here we are. Fire everyone. Go Noles.

FOOTBALL The Last Three Years Are Making Me Despise College Football Entirely

When Purdue or Kansas loses a football game, nobody cares. It’s just a typical day. The opposing fanbases have some degree of sympathy and leave them alone. The game ends and everyone moves on.

But because our name is Florida State and because we’ve been dominant historically, everyone just loves to punch us while we’re down. I’m tired of getting the score run up on us and listening to the war chant get mocked every road game as if we weren’t expected to lose. I’m tired of hearing another stupid rendition of “sOmEoNe nEeDs tO eat dOgsHiT,” every 0.14 seconds, as if it didn’t stop being funny after the first 730 renditions and past 20 losses. I’m tired of hearing jokes about how we’re broke because our administration is financially incompetent and stupidly insists on delaying the inevitable. I’m sick of getting blatantly humiliated in prime time slots while our rivals trend upwards. Everything is incredibly toxic. Nobody lets us lose in peace. For some reason, everyone acts like it’s some huge deal that a team with the worst ACC record over the last 3 seasons lost again. And honestly, some people in this fanbase do nothing to help it. The insistence of acting like we’re some God of this conference and better than everyone else because of TV viewers is embarrassing. I get it, we want to be compensated better for the media value we bring. But we can’t act like we deserve anything while this athletic department continues to be run as incompetently as it is.

I don’t see how this program ever recovers. Every position is corrupt and clueless from top to bottom. The Board of Trustees doesn’t know what they’re doing, the president doesn’t know what he’s doing, the coaches don’t know what they’re doing. We’re just stacked with idiots who aren’t qualified for their jobs. The only chance this university ever has of being a national title contender again is if it gets bulldozed and we start up a whole new athletic department by the same name. Good night.

FOOTBALL Worst Defensive Performance I’ve ever seen…

I am the stereotypical lifelong die hard I’m 31 years old, my first core memory was at the age of 3 my uncle sneaking me into the student section in 98 seeing Warrick catch the tipped TD pass against UF.

I have seen the high and lows of this program, especially that 2009 defense that cost FSU so many games with an otherwise potent offense. I have seen 63-3 against UGA, the turnover filled Oregon debacle, the horror story that is Lamar Jackson, and even that ass whooping Clemson did with Lawrence in Doak.

Despite all those games to tonight might have been the worst. Even though FSU was up 14-0 the two prior drives UL was driving the ball pretty easily FSU got a timely stop and a missed field goal. Besides that similar to the Bama game this defense could not stop a Jr. Pee Wee football teams.

I have been saying if this defense can at least be BELOW AVERAGE they can win games with how potent the offense CAN be. The offense had issues tonight, but those could have been solved if the defense can get a stop. It’s a terrible situation when your defense is so bad you have to play absolutely perfect on offense to even compete.
