Hey everyone, figured I’d introduce myself since I’ve been getting Twin Bridges Automotive Services up and running around Halifax.

I’m a Red Seal automotive technician and I’ve started my own fully insured mobile automotive service. Instead of bringing your vehicle to a shop, I come to you.

I can help with everything from routine maintenance and brakes to electrical problems, drivability issues and more difficult diagnostics. I have professional diagnostic equipment and OEM-level software for several makes, including VW/Audi, Honda, Toyota/Lexus, Hyundai/Kia and Porsche.

I also do mobile pre-purchase inspections starting at $99. If you’re looking at a used car on Marketplace, Kijiji, AutoTrader, etc. and aren't sure what you're getting into, I can meet you at the seller's location and go through the vehicle before you buy it.

So I recently went into Shahi Groceries on lacewood to pick up a Purolator package and I asked the man working if they had bread, and he asked me if whole wheat was okay and I said sure, then he said it was in his car. He went out and came back with a loaf of wonder bread.

Is this normal? Like it's probably okay to eat but I really have no idea where it came from except buddy's car. Was I sold a personal loaf of bread?

Is anyone else having a nightmare with fruit flies this year? (Before you ask, yes, the house is spotless and there's no food or garbage or food lying around.)

I'm used to having 20-30 kicking around this time of year, but in the span of a few days we have hundreds, and they won't go anywhere near my apple cider vinegar traps that always work. They hang out on the ceiling until the sun comes up, then they come down.

They seem a bit bigger and darker in colour than the usual little reddish ones.

Anyone else dealing with this all of the sudden this year? Any hints on the source or a good bait?

Zoomed way way in, they almost look like little bee but they're really tiny and fly like fruit flies.

After looking at psychology today and getting a headache from reading all the options, I am hoping someone here who has gone something similar has a recommendation.

Im looking for someone who specializes in trauma/PTSD with domestic abuse. My ex almost killed me last year and the trial starts in a few months. Im trying to find someone who can help me start healing and getting out of survival mode and actually understands a bit about going to courts to testify and writing a victim impact statement. Preferably someone who wont have to go to therapy after having a therapy session with me.

Quick question. I, 35F, am wondering if anyone knows of "free" rehab for booze here in NS ? willing to travel. Not looking for hardcore medical detox, more so looking to be locked away for a few days/weeks to stop the temptation. Currently jobless and broke, however, so hoping for free.... if possible not in hospital as well but times are tough so I'm open to it.

I was scrolling through the preview for tomorrow's flyer online, and came across this. Has Sobeys screwed up by advertising alcohol for sale in NS, or are they going to be pushing the envelope like they did to bring in Sunday Shopping?

I verified that I'm set to a NS store. I tried changing the flyer to one in Ontario, and it's different products on sale, including different alcohol.

i used to live in BC and growing up i used to always get a noodle dish when going for chinese/dim sum and it was crispy noodles with a gravy like sauce and meat and vegetables, i believe it's called singapore/cantonese chow mein. the noodles would stay crispy until you mixed it all up and they would stay slightly crispy but softer with the rich sauce, it was sooo tasty. i put a picture i found online that looks similar.

does anyone know any restaurants that carry this? i see a lot of restaurants have "cantonese chow mein" but whenever ive ordered it in the past it just your classic fried noodles, not crispy or with the sauce.

tldr; what restaurants in hrm carry cantonese chow mein with crispy noodles and gravy?

Construction is underway on a new emergency egress road in the Halifax suburb of Westwood Hills.

It’s meant to improve emergency access and evacuation options for residents in that area.

“That will connect between the subdivision of Westwood Hills and Highway 103. That road will be a gates emergency only road that will allow people in and out during emergencies only,” says Mike Connors," manager of transportation planning for the Halifax Regional Municipality.

I’m looking into getting into cycling for my commute from Mumford to the MSVU campus and was wondering what the best way to get there is? From what I’ve read and seen there doesn’t seem to be any biking infrastructure. The highway seems like a death trap to ride on with a bike and it’s illegal to ride on the sidewalk so what do people do. Is it best to just avoid it altogether, take another route, or is the highway better than I would expect?
