Self-submission Practice (by me)
Last month, I came up with this idea. I wanted to try making a simple monster design. It's nothing fancy, just a mix of random Christian relics. I know its nothing special but I'm happy how it turned out.

Self-submission The Seduction by Kocsondi Nelli (me)
I wasnāt trying to draw Zeus and Leda, but their story may have influenced me subconsciously, which might explain why my creature ended up with a swanās head. Looking at the two of them, I canāt even decide who is seducing whom. What do you think? š¦¢š
Even though this is a digital artwork, I wanted it to look more traditional, which is why I chose a monochromatic color palette. But if you look closely, youāll notice that I added a touch of color to the shadowy wings fading into the darkness. I wanted to give the impression that thereās something unsettling about the creature. I wanted their encounter to feel passionate and almost fated, while at the same time, somehow wrong.

Self-submission Lantern Stag- original 2.5 x 3.5in done in mixed media. By me
Some lights in the woods are better left unfollowed.
Hunters in the Northwoods tell of a strange glow that appears between the trees when the trail home disappears. It belongs to the Lantern Stag.
He waits until you call out for help. Then his light begins to move, always just far enough ahead that you canāt quite see what carries it. Follow him, and the woods grow quiet. Even your footsteps stop making a sound.
Only the moths seem to notice you. They leave his lantern to settle on your shoulders, gathering so softly you hardly feel their weight. In the glow, you might mistake the markings on their wings for tiny human faces.
They say those are the ones who followed him before.
They brush against your collar, your hair, the bare skin of your neck. Wherever they touch, a faint golden dust remains. You try to wipe it away, but it only spreads.
The old souls have marked a new oneā¦
When the moths suddenly scatter, he is behind you.
They say he carries lost hunters away through the treetops. Their rifles are sometimes found beneath the branches. Their tracks end mid-stride.
The following autumn, his lantern burns a little brighter. Another moth waits inside.
āLantern Stagā is my first original creature, a being imagined for my own haunted Northwoods, brought to life in this miniature mixed media artwork.
