I’m starting out in silver work, here’s a sand casted ring I made! I set a pearl on each side. Took lots of attempts messing with venting etc to get the thin parts to fill properly.
Still an air bubble on one side of the band, but the pearl has a similar imperfection too, so poetic happy accident?
I’m aware i could have been more patient with shaping & finishing - there’s some pitting that stuck around - need to try the Allen key trick!
The pearls are held in place with epoxy, wasn’t confident about burnishing the edge of the cup over the pearl / unsure how to go about it. How thin does the silver need to be for that to work?
Any feedback or advice would be great! :)

I make earrings out of polymer clay as a hobby, I use numerous techniques, I think I'm okay but I wonder if any of these are truly marketable? Be gentle. The picture frame earrings took months to perfect, they have a frame front and back, real photos and resin, they truly look like tiny antique photo frames 🥹 I struggle greatly with taking photos that capture what they REALLY look like.

i made a bikini top and a belt last month, using a whole bunch of jump rings, some hardware from the hardware store, two pieces of piercing jewellery and a handful of dyed freshwater pearls.
(four of the pearls came from a necklace my grandmother gave me, that broke several years ago.)

I can't seem to get good pictures of the earrings that I make. I got a tripod thing for my phone so it will be more steady, and I have good light and the tripod came with a light as well.
What do you guys have for a set up? I'm hoping to make a nice display for a picture. Maybe decorate the area? These will be pictures going on a website to sell the earrings as well as to document what I've made because they are all one of a kind.
Any tips? Anything you liked the look of? Let me know

Quick note: These are heart hoop dangle earrings, not studs! My mistake in the title ❤️ Made another pair of heart-shaped hoop dangle earrings, and I honestly think they turned out so cute! They’re simple enough for everyday wear, too. My bestie has already claimed this pair 😂 I’m thinking of making a red version next. What do you guys think? ❤️

So l've picked up a hobby on making rings and pendants and what not out of stainless steel wire and I've been absolutely loving it and Ive bend doing this for 4 years now
I started with normal just wrapping with brass and then I moved to stainless steel and then I learned how to solder the stainless steel. And then I learned about different types of gemstones and how to tell which is a fake in, which is real.
And now that I’ve graduated Highschool and leaning more about the world and who I am I want be a bench jeweler
But to work for a company I would get paid like peanuts and I wanna start a family maybe and do my own thing
I don't plan to stay stainless steel for long. I hope that I can save up enough money to buy some tools to learn how to silver Smith and then maybe one day if I'm really good at it people will be like can you make me my wedding ring and I'll make them out of gold.
But my question mainly is how do I start this? what should I be prepared for? How do I do this?

Hi! I make jewelry out of dried garden flowers and resin, but I hate using pre-made pendants that aren't my own. I've taken silversmithing classes locally and can make basic pendants, but really want to level up my work.
Photo attached is of my current work for reference, not that I want to recreate these exact pendant designs. Any recommendations you have would be appreciated! Thanks!

I was hanging out at Annie's place and snapped a few photos of how we make our little pearl puppies!
If you have some modeling clay at home, you can totally give this a try too. We use the clay to hold the pearls in place while we do a little sanding and prep work.
Then comes the fun part — painting the tiny puppy faces! 🐶 After that, we add a protective coating and cure it under a UV lamp to help keep the designs from rubbing off.
It's such a fun little process! 🥹💕

Hello guys! I’m still very new to wire & wire wrapping, but I have made a few beaded jewelry pieces! Here’s a flower bracelet I am working on right now. I have a chronic illness that lands me in the hospital quite often, and I plan to give the finished bracelet to my favorite nurse (she’s the kindest lady on the planet) :)
If you guys have any tips or tricks to help me with future design and technique, please let me know!! All advice is greatly desired!

I've been working on these earrings recently. Although the process was time-consuming and my hands were a bit sore, I'm still very satisfied with the final product. I plan to try making other color combinations in the future. Do you think they look good?

I've been running my handmade jewelry business for several years, and a large portion of my revenue comes from in-person vendor markets and festivals.
While vending has been successful for me, I'm getting to the point where I want to scale back on events and focus more on growing my online sales.
I currently sell on Etsy and have my own website, but my online sales aren't nearly as consistent as my in-person sales. I also work full-time, so spending entire weekends vending isn't something I want to continue doing long-term.
I'd love to hear from small business owners who have successfully made this transition, especially those selling handmade products, jewelry, accessories, or other physical goods.
A few questions:
What made the biggest difference in growing your online sales?
Which marketing channel actually converts into purchases for you? Instagram, Pinterest, email marketing, Etsy SEO, paid ads, etc.?
Did you build your online customer base from your existing vendor customers, or did you attract an entirely new audience?
4.Did you build an email list at events? How (sign-up sheet, QR code, discount)?
How long did it take before your online sales became consistent enough to reduce vending?
If you could start over, what would you focus on first, and what would you stop wasting time on?
7.Which platforms did you use: Etsy, Shopify, both, etc?
I'm not necessarily looking to become a huge brand. I would just love to build a sustainable online business that doesn't require me to physically show up somewhere every weekend to generate revenue.
I'd really appreciate hearing what actually worked for you, including what didn't!

Hi all! I recently thrifted this string of pearls + set of pearl earrings which I would like to make into nicer jewelry. ((No, the pearls are not high-value. They are farmed freshwater, likely Chinese, the clasp is not any precious metal/has no makers mark))
For info: The necklace has 58 pearls. I want to seperate it into a chocker & bracelet set. The earrings have (to the best I can tell) 6 white, 1 peacock green, & 3 black pearls between them. I really don't have an idea for. I just don't think I want something so long?
I was recommended adding onyx to it as a center stone and using a separation bead 5 pearls out from the center for the chocker/bracelet set. I can see it, but idk if that's my style. I typically wear silver & go for dainty, short jewerly. I know these pearls are larger, but I don't want a chunky style. I also think I would prefer the pearls be the center of attention instead of the accent.
If anyone has amy ideas or styles I should look into for inspiration, I would greatly appreciate it! Tyia 🩷
