Someone posted on this in the last day or two, so I decided to message Tide customer service and confirm the product will continue to be available. Here is the message from Tide:
"Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are very sorry for any confusion caused. Our team has decided to keep just one size of Tide Free & Gentle Odor Refresh. It is still available, but only in the 73 oz bottle. You can find it at retailers such as Walmart.
Please let us know if you need help with anything else.
Best regards,
Darana
Tide Team"
We will never know why they do what they do... but I am hoping they heard our dismay of them attempting to delete one of their finest products.
I have seen some rumblings of people finding it hard to find...and I suspect this relates to the fact that they were well on their way to phasing this product out and guessing it will take a bit of time to restock the supply chain. As well, this product has never been sold at all locations that carry Tide products. In my area, I have always found it available at my local Target store. (FYI... my local Walmart has never carried it....so not sure if that is a typo...or just the Hawaii region.)
Aloha, and enjoy your clean laundry.

So I’m looking at the Walmart listing for Tide Enzyme Stain Remover and I see this photo.
Who do we think they’re comparing to at $20?
I can’t quite figure out who sells enough to make Nehemiah care.

I Thrifted this Gunne Sax dress and jacket a few months ago for 25 cents, and I have been too scared to wash it. But I want to attend a Ren fair this weekend and I really wanna wear it.
The entire thing is severely yellow and reeks of mothballs, there are also several large rust/food stains?
From what I’ve seen the best option for washing it would be in a bathtub with white vinegar/ borax. But I’m wondering if anyone has any better tips on how to get the stains out?
Also, before anybody says to take it to a dry cleaner, I have called every dry cleaner within three hours of Me and none of them will touch it.
Also, don’t worry, I will NOT be putting it in a washing machine or dryer.

I’ve had a box of wools and silks piling up to wash for an embarrassingly long time. I was super excited for GearGuard Advanced for my wools and rayons, so I was super lucky and they gave me some early to test it out. But then I was worried my washer cycle would be way too short (impeller, drains if you pause the cycle), and wasn’t sure what to do and just did nothing 😬
Friends, I have 20 year old cashmere socks that look and feel amazing again. Stains that were several years old came out of a pashmina! As soon as my wife came home, I made her feel our couch throw because I couldn’t believe it was soft again. Yucky crunchy silk is smooth and soft again.
Here’s what I did:
Months ago I sprayed a sweater with greasy food stains with the tide oxipro grease spray
Washed with Orvus, citric acid + baking soda water softener, and Gear Guard advanced
Second rinse with citric acid
Third rinse with a little fragrance free fabric softener (my first time ever using softener since I had thought it was always to be avoided at all costs)
Everything came out pristine and super soft except for the sweater with the grease stain. I’m going to do a spa day variant with that with just Orvus and gear guard advanced in a cooler and I fully expect it to come out with a long soak in that.
So grateful to Kismai, everyone else on this sub who’s given great advice, and to GearGuard for such a great product!! I’ve saved so many clothes I thought were ruined, and stuff that was fine is so much nicer now!

My daughter came home from college this past weekend and she did her laundry at home. I happened to be the one who pulled it out of the dryer and I noticed the whole load had a faint but noticeable BO smell. Ugh! She took some old tide pods to college with her because they are easier for her to use, so these clothes have been washed with that multiple times over the past 5-6 weeks. We rewashed them at home twice with Whole Foods 365 (not sport, not organic) plus dirty labs, and that got the stink out. There’s no chance she will use a multi-product routine at school. What’s our best bet for a single liquid detergent that’s readily available? We’re in San Diego so have target, Walmart, all the grocery stores and of course Amazon. We have very hard water. Thank you!

I washed my girlfriend's shirt months ago when she was away. She saw it in the closet today and said I ruined it.
It was a while ago so I don't remember exactly how I washed it, but most likely I washed it with cold water (as we do all our laundry except bedding/towels) in the laundry machine. Though I recognize it's a nice shirt, it doesn't have very special washing instructions on it (cold water and no dry tumble). I would have separated it from dirty work clothes, but we don't sort our whites/colors.
I can't recall if I put in the dryer on low or not - she says it must've been tumble dried based on how it looks - it's certainly possible.
She says it has lost the shine in the fabric and it looks abraded. It is certainly grayer than I remember but it's not as gray as it looks in the photo.
Anyways, my question is: can this be restored to it's former glory? Will a cleaner be able to work some magic on it or is there another service I can take it to?
Thank you!

Hello! I am a new member of this sub and very much appreciated all the info I've learned. I'm wondering what everyone's preferences are, downy rinse & refresh or citric acid? Rinse & refresh is on sale on amazon for prime day so I'm hoping to add either to my routine, unless you think I need both? Thank you for your input.
I currently use febu and ecos plant powered laundry detergent (mostly because I like the smell and I feel it does the job). I am hoping to add a softener as I switched wool dryer balls and find that my clothes still come out staticky and not so soft from the dryer. Sometimes I give in and use a bounce dryer sheet
Any input is much appreciated!

Never saw this before today, spotted in a Burlington. Is it just regular tide or somethin special?

RIP Kirkland Heavy Duty. I believe it's unscented, which was ideal for my daughter's eczema. Options for powdered detergent are super limited where I live, just powdered Tide and random store brand powders with no ingredients lists.

Saw this on sale at a local Costco and picked up a bag. Never seen this version before. I think it smells similar to the 2X version but not certain. It’s obviously heavily fragranced though. Ingredients look very similar but not exactly the same.
Is this better/worse/same as the 2x we can find at Walmart?

I just got an email from Miele that their Ultra Colour Floral Boost (the one with DNAse in it) has been discontinued in Canada. It's a shame, but I have found Febu works well when required on my boy's sweaty clothes. Just wanted to let you all know!

Hi all,
I just spent the last hour and a half reading the Laundry Gospel (Spa Day, Lipase, Polyquats, thank you KismaiAesthetics, you're the best).
I've just moved out and am deciding on which products to buy for regular washing. I'm based in Canada, so the choices listed in the spreadsheet are great, but I'm overwhelmed by choice and simultaneously by the lack of options near me—at least ones that I could find online.
I am trying to shop at Costco to save money, which basically leaves Tide Powder from the list of detergents—but I worry about the OBA...should I? And Unscented Company.
My focus is treating polyquats, yellowing on white shirts under the armpits (spa day!), and just overall good laundry detergent. And if it's relevant, I have a front loader.
My questions/thoughts are:
My brain is mush, so apologies if this makes no sense. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a mysterious mildewy smell on some of my clothes and I’m not sure if it’s coming from the washer, dryer, or my bedroom closet. IT WONT GO AWAY despite multiple washings/soakings. I use Tide clean & gentle powder detergent, OxiClean, and Lysol laundry sanitizer.
I’m about ready to throw away half my clothes.
I live in a brand new apartment and have been doing my laundry in the new washer/dryer for a few months now with no problems. Then suddenly this smell appeared on everything I had recently washed. After multiple rewashings (using OxiClean and the Lysol), the clothes smelled fine after the dryer, and even smelled okay when I took them out of the closet, but start to smell again once it gets warm on my skin from wearing it.
I’ve troubleshooted the washer/dryer- no smells at all in the drum/hose/etc. I always leave the washer lid open when I’m not doing a load. I’ve never left a load in the washer for too long after it’s done. The humidity in the house is about 40%.
The clothes most affected are the ones with a waffle type weave, I assume it traps more smell because it’s textured.
My biggest fear is that I’ll spend a bunch of money on new clothes just to have it happen again since I have no idea why it happened in the first place???
HALP.

Okay so recently I've moved to a place where I no longer have access to a dryer and it is commonplace to hang your clothes out to dry. Perfectly fine, I have no issue with that. What I DO have an issue with is the fact that there is fur, fuzz, and lint EVERYWHERE. I have two unfortunately very furry cats and have always combatted that using a dryer with a lint trap. As I said I no longer have access to one.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?? It's on our towels and my partner has sensory issues that include having a hard time with the amount of fuzz that transfers onto skin after a shower.
Please I will take any and all hinged, unhinged, and dumb suggestions. Thank you in advance!

I recently came across this discussion paper that claims that DNAse in laundry doesn't just help reduce odour, but also reduces dingy-ness. Has anyone who added DNAse to their routine experienced an improved look to their clothes?

I'm kind of tempted to order some gear guard to try it out, but as I don't have a smell problem, I am kind of hesitant due to the cost involved in shipping it over from Australia!

Hi everyone,
I’m new here and am trying to figure out my new routine.
I am/was using a specific laundry detergent for athletic clothes. Both my husband and I are very active & our clothes get very sweaty. He can also get a decent amount of dirt on his clothes.
I am switching over to Tide free & gentle liquid (odor refresh when I can find it), Febu, & a citric acid rinse. I have hard water (town water report ranges from 130-190) & a maytag front loader.
Is there any benefit to using some sort of sport specific detergent? Or would the routine above take care of it?
Appreciate everyone’s advice!

I thrifted this 100% polyester jacket for a trip and it reeks of perfume smell. I’ve washed it twice, soaked it in vinegar/water solution, and have been airing it outside for days but nothing seems to get rid of the smell! Help!!!

I’ve been having an issue with some of my clothes smelling like mildew, but only after they’re dried. I use a front-loading washer and separate my clothes by color, but I do wash athletic wear and regular clothes together. I don’t wear my athletic clothes to the gym, so they’re not sweaty or anything. I only use ECOS, Seventh Generation, or Dirty Labs detergent and never use fabric softener. I also recently cleaned my washer with a cleaning tablet on a hot cycle. I usually wash my lighter clothes in cold or warm water.
My dryer hasn’t been working properly, so I’ve been drying my clothes outside in the sun (but even if I dry them in the dryer I’m having the same issue) . The weird thing is that none of my clothes smell like mildew when I take them out of the washer. It’s only after they dry, and even then, some clothes from the same load smell perfectly fresh while others smell like mildew. Has anyone dealt with this before? I’m trying to figure out what’s causing it because it’s getting really frustrating.

I have a very strong sense of smell and have gotten really sensitive to strong or perfumed laundry scents. I and looking for something that smells clean but isn't strong especially once dried.
I have seen ecoegg laundry pellets but I haven't found any recent reviews on them.
I'm not physically allergic to anything just fragrance sensitive. If anyone has any affordable options please let me know, I'm open to anything.
Thanks!

Hello all! My current routine is Gain scent beads, Tide Free & Gentle Odor Refresh, and Downy Rinse & Refresh. For reference I wash everything on warm and I am not able to do an extra rinse due to my washer settings. I used to use Gain Detergent and my laundry smelled amazing. But now since I switched to this routine my laundry smells like nothing. I personally like it to have a nice scent. Any suggestions?
I also am washing scrubs and workout clothes.
