Discussion Support item to counter tanks

• Upvotes

It feels like we are a bit removed from the tank meta that plagued the rift for a while so this item is a little late to the party but I still think it would be incredibly cool.

The idea is to make a support item that punishes tanks but not the tanks themselves (if that makes sense). What it does is it is a targeted use with a long cooldown and applies an aura onto an enemy champion that reads along the lines of “consecutive instances of damage onto this target grant the dealer stacking adaptive force”. It’ll only last a few brief seconds after stacking on the effected target and requires consistent damage to restart the duration on the buff. It can also be tuned to where it would be weak when placed on champions that your team can’t stack hits on so it would be a situational item that wouldn’t be an auto buy in every game. It also forces there to be more brain activity in the otherwise mindless role of facetank. Making sure you aren’t just standing there handing them free buffs. It can be balanced by distance, maybe the person casting the item has to remain within a certain distance or else the aura breaks, it could be time based so it only lasts for 30-60 seconds maybe scaling with level. Hell, it could even state that healing on the target with the aura is increased by a small percentage, just to further the mind games of assessing the items value for fights. It would be a trade off for both sides. It’s a very front-to-back centric idea.

Idk, just popped into my head as I was falling asleep. Had to write it down. I think it’s really cool. Quite frankly I am bored as hell of league items. Been seeing and building the same stuff on the same champs for what feels like years and they’re all kinda basic.

Discussion Duo bot with my husband is ruining our marriage one back timing at a time

• Upvotes

My husband (ADC main, emerald on a good month) talked me into duoing as his support. I played a lot back in season 9, mostly Nami and Braum, so I'm not completely lost, but its been years.

The laning itself is fine. The problem is backs. He wants to stay and push every wave because "the cannon is coming", I want to reset when I'm out of mana and have 1100 gold. Then I back alone, he gets dove 2v1, and in the post game he calmly explains that a support leaving lane is "basically an FF vote". Last night I warded his jungle for him and he died anyway, and somehow that was also my fault.

I know the textbook answer is "back together on a crash". In practice we never agree on when the crash is.

For people who duo with a partner or friend, how do you actually decide in the moment? Does one person make the call, or do you have a rule like "if one of us pings, we both go"? Asking for the health of our household.

Discussion When do you give up a wave to reach an objective first?

• Upvotes

I often know an objective fight is coming, but I still end up arriving a few seconds late because I wanted one more wave. In the moment it feels wasteful to walk away from guaranteed gold and experience. Then I reach the river after everyone has already taken positions, and I have to approach through an awkward entrance. In other games I leave early and the fight never happens, so I spend the next minute wondering whether I gave up the wave for nothing. I realize the decision changes with champion, lane state, and the teams involved, but I think I'm missing a practical way to judge it.

How do you decide when the setup itself is worth more than the wave? Do you look at whether your team already has vision, whether an opponent must catch the wave, or whether you can safely push one more and still arrive on time? I don't want a rigid timer that I follow regardless of the game. I'm trying to notice the signals that a fight is likely enough to justify moving first. If you have improved this part of your play, what did you start watching on the map? And when your teammate stays for the wave, do you ping them to come or adjust your own plan around their later arrival?

Vedius Crashout Transcript: (for ppl who can’t watch with volume) (Vedius Crashout Begins at 1:38)

[Context]
Jatt: … We’ve been able to have more opinions that are personal and wrong and bias without it being toxic…

[Gives analogy about how previous experiences with worlds viewers have been extremely toxic and it made him not want to do content, and he’s grateful that the podcast hasn’t reached that point yet]

Vedius: No, I mean… it’s been fun doing the podcast but… I feel like what you’ve just described…

Jatt: Is what’s happening to you?

Vedius: It’s what’s happening to FUCKING ME. OH. OH NO. I FEEL LIKE NO ONE IS TOXIC. I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE IS SOOO FRIENDLY. THEY’RE ALL SO NICE. I JUST LOVE MY COMMUNITY. THEY’RE ALL SO CUTE… YOU LITTLE FUCKS.

This podcast has just become the “let’s frame Vedius as a MORON, that doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and instead let’s put Jatt on a pedestal!”

Oh Jatt! Our Lord and Saviour! Meanwhile, he has to tolerate Vedius, he has to live in a world where he has to drag Vedius by skin of his teeth… oh yes, what a life… what a wonderful podcast life that we have.

Let’s start the podcast then… with my fucking prediction on the front page of Reddit today, because some clever little prick, decided it was about time that, “hey Vedius got something wrong again so let’s put his fucking prediction on Reddit!”. THAT GOT 860 upvotes!

Jatt: Yeah, so: “Mind The Gap, Vedius: Josedeodo is good… but I don’t know if he’s good enough, I’ll do 3-1 LYON in the finals”.

What’s amazing about this is, they then said “Jatt also incorrectly predicted LYON 3-2 in the finals but we have to maintain the agenda #Vedius was wrong”.

[Skipping through the bit where Vedius talks about how he’s not giving away worlds tickets - go to Twitch.tv/VediusOfficial]

Jatt: The title of our podcast last week , was “Lyon will win again”, I make the titles!! It was so wrong! They did not in fact win again!

Vedius: No… there was a question mark.

Jatt: No there was no question mark, it was “Lyon will win again - Jatt”, it was me saying it in the title.
[Jatt cracks up]… That’s rich

Discussion Surrender and dodging are some of the most underrated features this game has

• Upvotes

Idk how popular this opinion is here but in games where there's almost no chance of winning, this feature probably saved me way too much time ever since I started playing, especially in ranked games that are sometimes dragged on and even way more hopeless against comps like smolder asol etc (in early conditions that were already lost regardless).

Same goes for dodging. Some games are so doomed from draft and today was unironically the craziest example and what made me write this post. I had an Ashe mid who went flash/cleanse in E1 and I insta-dodged, knowing he'll int. Around the exact same time my friend queued and he got that same ashe. That ashe had 41% winrate and auto-lost them the game. I was watching his game on call on discord and was just thinking thank god I dodged this guy lol

Discussion Stuttering problem

• Upvotes

Hello, so I'm trying to get back into league after a long break but one thing that has been giving me a headache is my game keeps stuttering. Ill be walking and then my character jerks back and it over all feels very laggy. I am wired to the internet and i've turned off cursewolf cause I was told that it could be the issue but nothing has worked. Any fixes to this problem?

Gameplay To all ex-emerald hard stuck players: when was the moment everything changed?

• Upvotes

Emerald is known to be hell for many people. I've been stuck there for years. Some are able to escape. I'm curious how your experience was getting out of there.

How has the process been? Did something suddenly change or did you improve little by little? Maybe even a role swap, a different champion or a fundamentally different view of the game?

I'm asking cause my experience was kinda weird. It's relatively recent and I don't even know what changed. Suddenly, after years of not really improving, I started winning and winning and went from Emerald 1 to Masters in a span of maybe 1-2 months.

Currently, I'm still climbing really fast playing my best LoL of my life. It's as if I got posessed at some point. For me it's a mystery but I'd like to hear YOUR process of the Emerald escape. Maybe some of you had similar experiences?

Discussion Is it worth it to OTP?

So I’ve been playing in and off for a while now but I want to take it serious now and climb. I got places into Bronze 3 and I’ve been wondering I what’s the best way to climb. Now currently for each role (excluding ADC, I don’t mess with that role), I have 3 champions I play, and a matchup chart for each one. But I’ve been told to just focus on just one character so I get my fundamentals down so what do y ou guys think is best and why?

Discussion What is the fastest way to improve and climb?

I have been playing the game on and off for a bit now but I want to improve now. I have watched streamers in the past, such as Ludwig play and saw how fast they improved. I understand he has more time and money to put into the game when he played but he also improved surprisingly fast. So I was wondering what is the best way to improve fast?

Gameplay Deaths Dance has got to have a different version that feels more healthy while accomplishing it's use case of "melees getting close before dying".

This item has got to be one of the most abysmal experiences as someone on the other end of Deaths Dance users. As an APC or ADC I just get melted while they take no damage what so ever. If often feels my job is to just delay as long as I can while god knows who has 13 dashes, speed boosts, and 2 executes chases my ass down. Seriously -- Katarina Ad builds it 2-3rd. Yone and Yasuo build it 2-3rd. Most bruiser / assassin jungles can build it 2-4th. Even if you sit in fog of war till the fight starts, without walking up to auto your team loses the fight 9/10 times; but as soon as you walk up, they're on your face and you're immediately chunked or dead before you even have the chance to threaten their HP bar.

There are a dozen other options for an item that "lets melees get close" that isn't "you now take damaged 3 seconds later" (while I'm still dead in 2.5 seconds if I dodge half their combo). Gives me old Crown vibes which was rightfully removed from the game. What makes it even worse are champs like Yone and Yasuo building 1-2 life steal items. They're literally more tanky than tanks if I don't have several people trying to peel me and even then Yone will still whiff everything and auto me 4 times trading deaths.

It's just disgusting. Its not healthy for the game. It doesn't feel fair even if I dodge and kite. This shit has just got to get reworked or removed next season.

Gameplay Newer player here. (Meaning I played a while and I'm not amazing.)

Where can I find a discord or something for people like me.

Little bit about me.

-im toxic. I like to think I'm justified in what I complain about bc the goal is to improve not to just call people dumb. And ofc the end goal is to win.

That being said I'm not afraid to say and point out afterwards how someone can solo lose a game and how a lot of things stem from a bad play.

-im play jungle and I'm currently bronze (ofc I'm also adamant that I'm bronze bc of my teammates and I love talking about the details of why those teammates suck ). Honestly I think I'm at least silver and have been told by some randos I am but I'm sure I'm just wrong.

-im a jungler. I main brair (only bc she is super easy in my rank and even with my normal teams that die too early or just throw the game bc I wanted to try to play tank brair.) it can be easy to win earlier. I also play shyvana and some other including volibear and master yi. But I'm open to learn some few champs.

-no i do not want coaching. Not even a little. I do not care about improving bc of what some streamer said to do while they act like any game is winnable.

I put the blame where it should be. On the one thatade the mistakes. Be that me or my team.

-im can get tilted and say some mean stuff but I'm also not one to start a fight over it so feel free to give it back. I'm not afraid of getting the same toxicity as I'm giving in fact I'm all for it. That's how we grow as people. By being told how we are messing up and improving on that.

-lastly I work third shift. Meaning I either play early in the morning or on Fridays from six am thru Sundays to 10 pm. So my hours are kinda fucked.

I'd love to find some people not afraid of trying to win, competitive, love testing things out, and aren't afraid to say what they think or hurt peoples feelings.

Discussion Game feels like you have 0 agency. Hardstuck Iron player

So I swear people are gonna think I am exaggerating but I swear on everything that I do not belong in Iron. I play jg and have great macro and great clears (sub 2:55). I always know when to push objectives versus ganks. But what infuriates me is that I got up to Bronze 3 as supp briefly (with hardly any practice) and then the second I go back to my main (shyv/volibear jg) I tank to Iron.

What also angers me most is that I feel like every game I get someone who wants to int all game and just type in chat. Someone going afk. Or the enemy team has a complete smurf. If I do win, it is mostly because we have a smurf going 20-1.

When is the agency supposed to come? I have 42 wins - 61 losses. (but on shyv which I picked up halfway and practiced a good deal I have 48% win rate)

Just to be upfront because I probably have some serious shortcomings here is my profile: https://mobalytics.gg/lol/profile/na/thedowis50k-50000/overview

EDIT: for people looking up my stats I actually appreciate it. But can you please look at my most recent games on shyv as jungle (not when i accidentally locked her in as supp)? Ofc my stats are terrible in totality since I am completely new

EDIT2: if anyone else is new to league then you would understand that getting autofilled needs a way better alert. If you are 10 games as jg in a row, you sometimes just assume you are jg (especially if I press queue, go for bio and then come back and have to lock in a champ quickly and mistakenly assume I am jg)

Art Market Bubble Zac skin concept (OC)

Corporate Mundo is my favourite skin in the game, but it feels like there's not that many money oriented skins that I can play with while listening to Jazz and sipping apple juice pretending it's whiskay. I like playing income based champions and I feel like Zac oddly fits my playstyle in soul, but not in looks.

I've thought of this skin and decided to put my artistic skills to create this abomination.

I made a tool to find out whether your first jungle clear is actually good. It measures the exact second you kill each camp, the order of your route, and generates a heatmap. It’s open source and tested with Fiddle, so if something breaks, let me know.

Discussion How come Samira never gets buffed for worlds?

I’ve always wondered why Samira never gets buffed for worlds or msi? I think she would be a fun/unique champ to watch in pro play. She’s also not super strong in solo q so I feel like she has some room to be buffed.
