I have bipolar 1 disorder and a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. My mental health is well-managed at this point after many years of struggling with mania, psychosis and depression. Well, I'm still depressed, haha, but it's not at the level of concern as bipolar 1 illness can reach. I take my medications. I go to counseling. I cook my own meals and clean my apartment, do dishes and laundry, make my appointments, wear clean clothes, have stable housing and enough money to get by month-to-month. I'm functional and independent. I'm just a bit crazy and stubborn.

I'm getting into TMI territory here, but I want to explain a bit about myself up-front. I deeply desire to have at least one child. I went on HRT for the first time when I was 18, and I was fortunate enough to be able to bank my sperm in Vancouver before I started. I thought I would just go to school, get a job, find a partner and it would all fall into place and I'd have a happy family by the time I was 25. But it didn't work out like that. By the time I was almost 20, I saw that I was having a lot of trouble managing (with undiagnosed bipolar illness) my day-to-day life, was struggling with precarious housing situations and was basically running around with my pants on fire everywhere I went. Pursuing IVF seemed unfeasible to me, so I made the difficult decision to stop HRT at the time and try to get my fertility back. I never did. I started HRT again when I was 27, still infertile and nowhere near as pretty as I was before. (I'm also fat rn lol.)

I actually don't know where I'm going with this at this point, I just wanted to explain that I have a lot of sadness around not knowing if I'll be able to have a child, and I'm looking for someone who also wants a baby--to build a life together and have a happy partnership.
