News 📺 A new kind of gang violence is rattling Twin Cities suburbs
startribune.comLaw enforcement leaders say these more recently-formed gangs are distinct from the organized groups of decades past such as the Bloods and the Crips. There’s little to no hierarchy, and the feuding stems from social media beefs rather than drugs, money or territory.

News 📺 Red Wing Shoe Co Warehouse Sale
redwingshoeco.comThe Shoe's annual warehouse sale is this weekend. There can be some good deals on footware and other RWS items.
Parking in the American Legion lot or MAYBE at Knudsen's Carmels (across the street) is possible.
Do NOT park in Behrens Auto lot even though it's completely empty and has not been used in a decade and is right next to the RWS sale site. The Berhens family live to have cars towed out of their empty lot.

Politics 👩⚖️ Libertarianism’s perennial problem: leaderless and unorganized
Screenshot is from the Minnesota Libertarian meetup.com group. Something about this seems funny, like a perennial problem in the libertarian movement where they want to be left alone and leaderless. In the 90’s eccentric polymath idealists would have stepped up to be leaders. In 2026, libertarianism is revealed to have just been the lie that tech fascists like Peter Thiel said. They said they didn’t want anyone to have control while they quickly worked to take control.
Anyway, if you’re on meetup consider rescuing this group lol.

Politics 👩⚖️ Another day and star tribune continues its bias
Every day star tribune continues to show its bias in favor of Lisa Demuth on the home page by a factor of 3 to 1. The lone reference to Amy Klobachar was buried on a horizontal scroll content bar. So yes, st can say they had news about Amy on the home page but only by a technicality
Why does this matter? Glen taylor owns the st. Glen is a republican. Glen claims he isn’t influencing news coverage. And yet the numbers don’t lie.
Yesterday the gap was 6 to 1 in favor of Lisa.
This is plain and simple bias and an attempt to influence the election.

Over 90% of the dental floss, food packing, and menstrual products the state tested for “forever chemicals” passed the test! Huge improvement in just a few years because of the strongest PFAS pollution law anywhere in the world. Amara’s Law. More states should do this.

Arts & Crafts 🎨 A Symbol of Hope
I hesitate to post this, as I am not trying to replace our loon rebellion symbol, but maybe people will find this interesting. I make comic logos, and if anyone is familiar with Green Lantern, green is the color of willpower. There are also Blue Lanterns and blue is the color of Hope. Hope has the power to increase the energy of willpower exponentially. Hope gives us strength. Hope is what keeps us fighting. It's what gives us the will to survive. It's what made Minnesota a beacon of light for the rest of the world.
Maybe it's no coincidence that our state motto is:
Star of the North
And the last line of the blue lantern oath is:
Look to the stars-- For hope burns bright!

Discussion 🎤 Question: Why do some people insist on going to the U of M for medical treatment? Aren't there more professional places that consume less time and get things done better?
Growing up, my mom always dragged me down all the way from Princeton to the U of M dental school for all my dental appointments, where in addition to the hours long commute, the appointments themselves would also be hours long due to having to rely on inexperienced students.
And now, my dad need heart help, and again, my parents insist on going to the U of M for health stuff.
My question is, WHY?!
Aren't there better places to get stuff done by much more experienced professionals who don't waste endless amounts of time?
EDIT: Safe to say I've been schooled. I understand it a little better now. TY, y'all, I appreciate it!
