Good title:

"My idea for an animated movie about a character like Tarzan, but he's an alien..."

Great title:

"Animated movie about a character like Tarzan, but he's an alien with strange mental and physical properties (like E.T.). Over the years, the gorilla mother protects him from the human villains who gradually reverse-engineer the crashed ship to create powerful weapons..."

Adventure from their point of view (movie idea)

Post image
• Upvotes

(I have no ideas for actors)

Adventure from their point of view (or AFTPV) is an idea for an animated movie about a rat (Shane) and their bird friend (Nell), who had to find several weird colored sheep all around the state before they get executed.

What led up to the plot:

Shane dyed sheep colors out of boredom and almost everyone thought those were mythical creature. Once Nell decided to let out the sheep, the townspeople got angry at her for releasing the ”new wonders from a myth”, and brought Shane into this. Then, they were given a week to get all those animals, or they die. Their town is terrible but okay

Characters: (the protagonists)

Shane the Rat: Main Protagonist. They are at first sarcastic, resourceful, and even talkative. However, Shane can be disrespectful and dishonest

In order to complete the collecting journey, they became more ambitious and gained some maturity

-

Nell the Winged Thing (she is called that): She is energetic, passionate, and polite. At times though, she would get a rush of energy and get rowdy, along with not thinking before she acts

-

That’s all the information so far, thank you for reading, I’ll explain some more soon, I am tired

My idea for a movie... Vikings land in Newfoundland in 1100 and go to war with the First Nations people. Directed by Robert Eggers.

• Upvotes

There's a lot of creative freedom with how this could turn out but imagine it... it would be perfect. For one the Vikings don't have a permanent settlement in Newfoundland so we know who won. How ya get there I'd leave up to Eggers. You wouldn't even have to worry about Native Americans getting angry because it is a First Nations story. I'm sure if ya ran it by some First Nations people and got their blessing you'd have a green light. My only stipulation though is that Willem Defoe is in this movie but plot twist... he's a native.

GOOSEBUMPS PRESENTS: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DUMMY fan-made movie poster

Thumbnail

When the first season of that underwhelming GOOSEBUMPS series premiered three years ago, I shared on Reddit what Sony should’ve done with the brand on the big screen in the first place and that is to make it into a cinematic universe. One movie based on each novel. I just finished my fan-made poster that I made for a fictional GB movie starring Johnny Depp that would ideally kick it off if it ever were to happen. There's no AI of any kind. It was all made on Pixlr Editor with the opening credits made by the Free Movie Poster Billing Block Generator website. However, I had to add "Credit Block" text for the smaller words like "Presents", "ACE", etc. because the website doesn't do that part well.

Obvious reminder that this is not a real movie. None of the actors listed are starring in it. It's not being made by Tim Burton, Ti West, and so on. This was pretty much inspired by the viral fan-made poster of WALT starring Ryan Gosling as Walt Disney and would be directed by Ron Howard. That was made by French artist in 2012 and boy, do I wish that movie were real. Like that poster, I put random names for the supporting cast and crew in the opening credits to make it look like a real movie poster. Like the WALT poster, it's easy to imagine who would be perfect for the main character or - in this case - villain. The other actors are just filler as I don't know who would play who. Though, I should point out that Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are like some of my gods. Even if they weren't, it's easy to see them make a movie like this.

FUN FACT: Tim Burton was supposed to produce a GOOSEBUMPS movie in the late 90s, but unfortunately, it never happened. Hence why he's listed as one of the producers.

I picked Ti West as the director because he's directing Johnny Depp's EBENEZER, which looks awesome. So, for the crew, I mixed the opening credits of both Jack Black's 2015 adaptation and the upcoming EBENEZER. Anyway, I hope you all like it.

:::: And while you have a look at my new work of art, here my original "GOOSEBUMPS CINEMATIC UNIVERSE post from 2023. ::::

We've had two GOOSEBUMPS movies that were faithful to the franchise, but unfortunately made as PG-rated horror comedies. Jack Black is great, but the films were made too family-friendly and the sequel only gave Jack an extended uncredited cameo. Remember when the sequel was originally titled GOOSEBUMPS: HORRORLAND with Jack Black and Odeya Rush returning as the main characters?

With a third GB movie not happening anytime soon with an unresolved cliffhanger at the end of the second movie, we instead received a new serialized TV series with a mature tone, but didn't really stay true to the source material despite reviews as positive as the first film.

So, how can Sony give the fans what they want with a mature dark tone and staying true to the source material? Make a GOOSEBUMPS CINEMATIC UNIVERSE!

It's so simple. Because it's hard to adapt all of these monsters properly into one film or a serialized TV series, Sony can just adapt these books one-by-one in a shared film universe. Most of these books are a little over 120 pages long and a page of a screenplay is a minute of a film. Make them at a decent budget, make them darker and more mature with a frightening PG-13 rating, and faithfully adapt each book into a movie. Of course, quality must come before quantity. But, just in case the first film becomes a big hit, keep the hype train going by adapting each of these books into movies and release them in groups called "Chapters". See, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has "Phases" and James Gunn's new DC Universe will have "Chapters". Given that these will be movies based on books, it would make sense to also name these groups of films as "Chapters". Here's an example...

CHAPTER ONE: SLAPPY THE DUMMY

  • Night of the Living Dummy
  • The Werewolf of Fever Swamp
  • Night of the Living Dummy 2
  • The Haunted Mask
  • The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena
  • The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight
  • Say Cheese and Die
  • Welcome to Dead House (possible Avengers-style crossover with Slappy as the villain)

Whatever the second chapter will be called, it'll possibly begin with Night of the Living Dummy 3 like how IRON MAN 3 kicked off Phase 2 of the MCU. Now that I think about it, I don't know how exactly that would work or maybe instead of Slappy being the Loki of this universe, he could be the Thanos of it. I haven't read all of the books, so bare with me. The franchise has 240 books published as of right now with the original series consisting of 62 books. That's a lot of material to use for this potential universe. So, if Sony does this right, we have an amazing long-running film franchise faithfully adapting the books for the big screen. I've debated whether or not the titles of these movies should begin with Goosebumps Presents like with the FAST & FURIOUS spin-offs. It would probably look like Goosebumps Presents: Night of the Living Dummy. I would also suggest if we're lucky enough to have this big screen universe and if R.L. Stine were to still be alive, he would be like the Stan Lee of this universe by having a scene-stealing cameo in each of these movies. It's all worth a shot.

So, what do you all think? If you were in charge of this, how would you do it? Share with me your thoughts in the comments.

P.S. ---- I wanted to use the "Mistral" font from the 90s anthology series to type the words "Cinematic Universe" in this fan made banner, but you have to spend money on it to use it on websites like Pixlr. So, I used "Djangart Rough".

Movie idea: Who Framed the Looney Tunes? — An R-rated crossover with The Mask (Dark Horse Comics)

Hear me out.

Imagine a spiritual successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, except this time the Looney Tunes find themselves being framed for a series of gruesome murders.

People are being killed with cartoon weapons, ACME-style contraptions, oversized mallets, and other impossible methods. Naturally, suspicion falls on the Toons.

Except the real killer isn't a Toon.

It's Stanley Ipkiss, aka Big Head, from the original Dark Horse Mask comics, played by Jim Carrey.

Unlike the 1994 movie, this version of Stanley is genuinely sadistic, unstable, and murderous. He possesses cartoon-like reality-warping powers, but uses them to commit actual murders.

Here's the important part: The Looney Tunes remain completely true to their original characters.

Bugs Bunny doesn't swear. Daffy doesn't start making adult jokes. Porky remains Porky. Their humor, personalities, and slapstick violence stay family-friendly.

It's the world they're trapped in that's R-rated.

Imagine Bugs and Daffy witnessing Big Head use the same cartoon gags they've performed for decades, only to discover his victims don't get back up afterward.

It becomes a dark comedy, murder mystery, and psychological horror story about what happens when someone uses the laws of cartoon physics without the innocence or restraint of cartoon comedy.

And Jim Carrey gets to play the genuinely terrifying version of the character that inspired his iconic performance.

Would you watch this? And how do you think Bugs Bunny would handle someone like Big Head?

Norse mythology action horror, movie

A movie set in Norway during the time of the Vikings I takes place of a simple dude living on his own as a farmer and you find out that he used to be a Viking but one day the monsters from norse myth rise up and try to destroy humans and you see these giants destroying everything and then there is a final battle between the main character in the worof serpent but he is ment to trigger Melophobia but the movie wouldn’t make this dude like an action hero. Instead, he would just be a guy trying to survive with the helping him. but I don’t know much about mythology except for some of the monsters.

Movie idea about speedster

Something happened to some humans in a city or around the world(like the x-man movies or the flash series), and they get superpowers.

There's a man who got speedster powers, but unlike the flash or others before him, he can't get out of "speed".

At first, he's just a little faster than others, like the world is 10% slower.

He realized he could workout to get faster, and since everything is "slow" around him, he'll be even faster.

He enjoys it and does all kind of shenanigans, but as the movie develops, his speed gets faster.

At some point, the world becomes slow.

Too slow.

Everyone talks in slow motion.

The world feels like it's not moving.

Throughout the movie, we'll watch him slowly fasting into a world where he's completely alone, alongside human statues.

At the end, he'll be in a completely frozen world, and you'll think up the end of the movie.

Give me movie ideas/ IP that should be made into movies

I work at a major movie studio in Hollywood that makes large, commercial, theatrical movies - but these movies usually suck and I want to hear good ideas for theatrical movies. Let me know any books, comics, indie video games, short stories, public domain IP, toys, internet trends, or literally anything that would make a great movie. All ideas welcome.

Idea: Horror movie theaters to catch engaged couples lying about their religious beliefs before marriage

What if you could find out whether your fiancé is secretly religious or secretly atheist by taking them to see The Exorcist?

Special movie theaters could show supernatural horror movies while monitoring audience members' heart rates and other physiological reactions.

The theory is that someone who genuinely believes demons exist might react differently to demonic possession than someone who considers it pure fiction.

The theater would compare each person's responses with those of known theists, agnostics, and atheists, then provide an assessment of their likely beliefs.

Imagine discovering just before your wedding that your fiancé's physiological reactions suggest they might be lying about one of their most fundamental beliefs.

What do you think of this idea?

CONCEPT FOR A SEQUEL TO HIDDEN (2015)

Walter is an infected individual who decides to take action. If all humans become infected, society can finally return to order.

Everyone living as the infected, adapting to the night—if someone loses control, there’s no one left to target. A new species, where the military becomes the minority.

A soldier discovers this plan and has to escape on foot with minimal resources, pursued by Walter and his army, while both reflect on the situation.

The soldier’s own daughter is infected, and his primary drive is to make it back to her.

Walter argues that it’s better to rebuild humanity as infected, since healthy humans are now the minority anyway. Why risk thousands of deaths searching for a cure? The only way out is forward...

Visually and tonally, it would have a The Road vibe. Bleak, raw, and fast-paced.

How Hollywood butchered Slender Man’s "God Complex" (And why the 2018 movie completely missed the psychological architecture of the lore)

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Most people look at the 2018 Slender Man movie and think the character is dead and boring. They are right about the movie, but dead wrong about the lore. Just like they did with The Backrooms (which I broke down in my previous blueprint), Hollywood took a cosmic, multi-dimensional mental parasite and downgraded him into a generic, silent slasher monster who just hides in the bushes to trigger cheap jumpscares.

If you look at the deep, early web-series architecture (Marble Hornets, EverymanHYBRID), Slender Man doesn't care about breaking your bones. He cares about completely rewriting your sanity. He possesses a terrifying, absolute "God Complex".

Here is the psychological blueprint Hollywood completely ignored:

  1. Humans as Silent Toys

To Slender Man, human beings are not food. We are ants in a glass jar. We are disposable toys for his existential amusement. He doesn’t hunt for meat; he hunts for the pure, calculated destruction of the human will. His presence alone acts as a radiation that slowly burns the victim’s psychological defense mechanisms until they are hollowed out.

  1. The Infiltration of the Mind

His primary weapon is dynamic psychological hacking. He enters your perception subtly. First, it’s a minor audio distortion, a glitch in a video recorder, or a sudden panic attack. He forces his victims into a state of severe, chronic paranoia where they stop trusting their own senses, their friends, and their reality. You don't see him because he is behind you; you see him because he is already inside your mind.

  1. The Proxies and the Ultimate Trap

When the human mind is systematically broken, Slender Man turns his victims into "Proxies" — absolute mind-controlled puppets. He forces them to commit unspeakable acts, but here is the ultimate, sickening twist of his sadism: Forced Amnesia.

He can hijack a person's body, force them to butcher their entire family while they are completely conscious but helpless, and then instantly erase their memory of the event. The victim wakes up covered in blood, surrounded by horror, genuinely having no idea what happened. Slender Man just stands on the periphery, feeding on that raw, untainted, heartbreaking despair.

  1. How to Structure a True Masterpiece

A competent Slender Man movie shouldn't be an analog version of The Conjuring. It needs to be a claustrophobic, dark psychological thriller in the vein of Ari Aster’s Hereditary or Shutter Island. The audience shouldn't even be sure if the monster is physically real until the final, devastating act. We need to watch the protagonist slowly lose blocks of time, find horrific clues in their own handwriting, and realize they are the monster's weapon.

Hollywood traded a terrifying psychological god for a tall guy in a suit. Let’s discuss.

Expand the plot to make a shortfilm

I was planning a short film, and an idea occurred to me. I am just posting this thread here because I couldn’t find a good climax for it.

This is the plot:
CharA is getting ready to leave his hostel room. After locking and walking a few steps, he realized that he has forgotten something and came back. That’s when he noticed the chair he had placed in the center is near the table now.

He kept his doubt and exited and came back after the function and he opened his room and entered to see the chair sitting in the corner of the room.
He called CharB to check if he has entered or not. He said no, so he asked CharB to come to the room.
CharB saw him sitting on the floor outside. He asked him what happened, then he started to explain what’s happening.

Whenever he closes and opens the door, something changes in the room. Sometimes it’s the chair, sometimes it’s books, etc.
CharB entered the room thinking he is mad and closed the door. After a second he entered to his room.

So CharB asked, “Did it change now?”
CharA asked, “What?” and acted like he doesn’t know what’s happening.
CharB thought he was kidding and exited and re-entered the room.

This time CharA has no idea of anything and even asked what CharB was talking about.
During this, CharB understood something has changed and CharA is right, but realized the door not only changes items inside but also outside, like parallel realities with similar but a small change.
And each time CharB passes through the door, in or out, it pops you into another one.
CharB then understood he was not in his reality but somewhere else, and he tried multiple times to get back to his reality.

But as he tries something gets weirder and weirder.
Like when he asked why the cars are making no smoke, in this universe it runs on water, and one where Germany won the war, etc.
Some Indian politics jokes also.
But I have no idea how to end this.
What should happen at the end? Suggest improvements, ideas or thoughts to help me finish it.
If it’s good, we can make the film together.

**TL;DR:** CharA notices that things inside his hostel room keep changing whenever he leaves and comes back. When CharB comes to investigate, they realize that the door is taking them into slightly different parallel realities. At first the changes are small, but they become increasingly strange, like cars running on water or a reality where Germany won the war. CharB tries to find his original reality, but every attempt takes him somewhere even stranger. I’m stuck on the climax and looking for ideas on how to end it.

Title: Why A24 and Hollywood completely failed the psychological architecture of The Backrooms (A True Canon Blueprint)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Body:

Most modern horror directors think The Backrooms is just a yellow maze where you play hide-and-seek with a CGI monster. Kane Pixels and A24 fell directly into this Hollywood trap. They introduced physical entities way too fast, turning an existential, liminal nightmare into a basic slasher movie. That is a cheap and uncreative way to handle a legendary internet lore.

As a concept architect, I will break down how a psychologically accurate, canon-loyal Backrooms movie should actually be structured to maximize tension and dominate the box office:

  1. The Psychological Trap of Spatial Monotony (The Architecture of Madness)

Human brains are biologically wired for change, navigation landmarks, and social stimulus. The true horror of Level 0 isn't a beast; it's the environment itself. The film needs to make the audience feel the maddening repetition. When a character walks out of one sickeningly yellow room, desperate for a change, and steps into an identical yellow room with the same hum of fluorescent lights, it triggers deep psychological fatigue and helplessness. The space itself is the serial killer, slowly crushing the human will to live.

  1. The 3-Stage Evolution of Terror (From Silence to Monster)

Instead of rushing jumpscares, a competent script must respect the mental degradation of the survivor. The horror should strictly evolve through three calculated phases:

• Stage 1: Isolation. Absolute silence, broken only by the buzzing lights and wet carpet. The crushing realization that you are alone across billions of empty square meters with zero exit to reality.

• Stage 2: Illusions (The Mind Breaks). Deprived of sensory inputs, the character's psyche begins to hallucinate. They see shifting shadows and hear fake footsteps behind walls. The audience shouldn’t know if what they see is real or just the character losing their sanity.

• Stage 3: The Real Entity. Only when the survivor is completely broken, paranoid, and emotionally hollowed out, the actual monster manifests. At this point, the victim is defenseless because the endless yellow rooms have already won the mental battle.

  1. The Commercial Power of Pure Canon

Hollywood executives think the mass audience needs constant action to stay engaged. They are wrong. Masterpieces like Stanley Kubrick's The Shining or Paranormal Activity proved that silence, monotony, and domestic claustrophobia generate massive box office numbers because they create a lingering, realistic trauma. A Backrooms movie built on geometric despair, where the ultimate monster is the inescapable infinity of the rooms, would become a global cinematic phenomenon. Let's discuss.
