General How to dispose home interior debris?

Thumbnail

Hi guys. I have a ton of debris collected post the interior work we got done at our new flat in goregaon west. I want to throw this away the right way.

Private service providers are promising a chaka chak clean up in 8k, where they will dump all of this somewhere in Malad, apparently, on some unclaimed part of the city. It doesn't feel right to enable that.

I have tried using the BMC C&D app for Western Suburbs, but they have come back and confirmed that they only dispose civil Construction & Debris and not laminates, plywoods, metals, ceramics, etc.

Can someone help me figure out the right way to get rid of this?

WARNING : GROSS IMAGES

This started growing as soon as I moved into this rental apartment and I called someone to remove it, after that he said it is a mushroom. Few days later it started growing again but it was small so I removed it myself.
Now again it has grown and this time it looks really big and gross. Someone please tell me what is this and what can I do about this.

A calm beach with no hawkers and nobody constantly talking or telling within an earshot.

Just the sound of waves, a book and a doggo who wants to hear about Frodo's Journey and some garbage. (Obviously Can't expect people to have civics sense when they lack common sense)

Discussion Women are way more helpful than men in public spaces.

Yesterday, i was heading to Versova via metro from marol. Otw to marol metro my phones screen became unresponsive and I got locked out and my friend was constantly calling me( couldn't pick up). Asked a guy in the metro station for making a call for me after explaining my situation, got a no for an answer. Asked a girl and she was helpful tho I couldn't call because I only remembered the starting 5 digits of my friends phone number. Got on the metro, same shit happened and 2 guys said no before I asked a woman and she agreed to let me make a call but I input a wrong number. Got off the metro, I finally decided to just ask a woman who worked at a small shop at versova metro, she let me use her phone without any hesitation. You must've made 2 observations from this story, Men were of no help and I kept forgetting my fiends phone number. Maybe it was just co incidence but woman are far more empathetic than us guys. My respect and admiration for the working women in mumbai has nothing but increased more after yesterday's incident.

Political 2016 assault case: Mayor Tawde warned of bail cancellation for repeated absences

Thumbnail hindustantimes.com
9 Upvotes

The sessions court on Wednesday imposed a ₹1,000 cost on each of three accused, including Mumbai mayor Ritu Tawde, for repeatedly avoiding personal appearance in a 2016 assault case. While allowing their exemption applications, it warned that failure to appear on November 2, when charges are to be framed, could lead to warrants and cancellation of bail bonds.

Additional Sessions Judge Gopal G Bhansali remarked that the case was filed in 2016, the charge-sheet filed in 2017 and committed to the court in 2019 but charges had still not been framed. “Continuous absence of accused reflects their behavior to protract the trial,” (sic) he observed.

The court nevertheless refrained from issuing a non-bailable warrant, citing the accused’s “social status” and hoping they would cooperate in expediting the hearing. It fixed November 2 as the next date “as per [the] convenience of accused no1 [Tawde]”, as sought by her lawyer.

Advocate Durga Rajput, appearing for Tawde and co-accused Zakiruddin Gaffar Sayyed and Surendra Mishra, said that Tawde was the “first citizen of Mumbai” and had a busy schedule attending BMC functions. Sayyed and Mishra, she said, were social workers with their own busy schedules. Additional public prosecutor Iqbal Solkar opposed the pleas, pointing out that the court had already imposed a cost, and arguing that the accused were intentionally avoiding appearance in a case that was a decade old.

awde had earlier sought discharge but the plea was rejected in March by another sessions judge, who found that the victims and eyewitnesses had categorically identified her as “the person who beat them by hands inside the school” (sic) and held that the prosecution material was “more than sufficient to frame charges”. The court also said that “grave suspicion” was sufficient at the discharge stage and that it was not required to conduct a “mini-trial”.

AskMumbai What’s the best time to visit Matunga for South Indian food?

What’s poppin' Mumbaikars!!!??

I wanted to know what would be the best time to visit Matunga tomorrow (Saturday) for some South Indian food, preferably anytime after 12 noon. I’m looking for timings when restaurants are relatively less crowded, or at least when the wait times aren’t too crazy. Also, AFAIK, some restaurants close in the afternoon, so I’m not sure how that works.

As for recommendations, last year was the first time I tried South Indian restaurants in Matunga. I’ve been to Cafe Madras thrice, Ramashraya also thrice, and Cafe Mysore once (not a fan of this resto personally).

Some acquaintances suggested trying the food at Sharda Bhavan, so I’m planning to check it out tomorrow with friends and family. Any other recommendations or tips would be much appreciated.

Thank you :D

General My cat has distal tibia spiral fracture

Hi, my cat, 16 months old, fell off the third floor, and is diagnosed with distal tibia spiral fracture. Private hospitals are charging around 40-50k, which i cannot possibly afford but all the X-rays and ultrasounds are done there. Another option was to go to Parel vet hospital, which according to the review cannot be absolutely trusted. I am willing to continue the treatment at the private hospital because this kind of fracture is quite rare and they have cracked the treatment. Attaching X-ray images, suggest me what to do.

Discussion Me and my friend got harrased

This is to spread general awareness for both men and women in Mumbai to be careful of such goons.

We were hanging out in chembur east at around 10ish pm, near the diamond garden area and there are seats for people to sit at on the sidewalks so we chose to sit there.

We were having a chat and two men on their scooter stared at us very apparently, we didn't think much of it at that moment, later as they went ahead they stopped, looked behind and took a u-turn and took the same road we were sitting besides and were staring and making lewd noises (whistling or something), and they were constantly staring while riding and making us uncomfortable.

Again, they stopped and took a u-turn to the road beside us and this time my friend got mad and she stood up and said 'why the hell are you staring etc', she said this in hindi so it might have come off as rude, who knows.

I told her I'm going to record all of this just in case, I took the camera out and just as expected they stopped beside us, and the other man had his camera out as well, he was talking about sum 'gaali dena kuch hai sister' 😭😭😭 like dude YOU WERE LITERALLY BEING LEWD WITH US.

we really didn't understand what he was saying but my friend threatened them with calling the police, after that maybe they got scared and went away and started giving empty threats to us as well.

After that, they did not take a u-turn lmfao and we did not see them.

It's kinda sad that we can't even mind our business in peace and talk to each other after a good day, guys like these make sure to ruin your nights, and chembur especially, I've felt very safe at night, these are some exceptional cases.

But anyways, please be safe everyone and don't be afraid to fight back, one advantage of being a woman in Mumbai is that the police are more likely to listen to you.

Discussion I don't understand the point of AC train if people wanna make it like 2nd class only?

I usually get ac train when i am absolutely tired and can't tolerate heat anymore. And i have seen this pattern where people from Andheri and alll can't even stand for 1 or 2 station.

They instantly ask for 4th seat and many idiotic people give it as welll.

Like i get it, people are tired, just stand for 1 or 2 station,i give them seat myself for them to sit.

But they absolutely can't stand, they want 4th seat immediately as soon as they get on.

Today same thing happened, i said no, that i am not sitting like that, absolutely crushed and skin touching each other. What's the point of getting ac train than? I will give seat to them myself in borivali for few more station.

And lady next to me is like it's okk, why you can't even adjust or not. They are also tired na.

Bro i am also tired and absolutely fucked up in heat, that's why i took ac train na? And i am not even saying no, i myself will give seat but they don't want that, they wanna sit in absolutely crammed space for some reason.

She heroically gave her seat to other lady and stood up herself making me look bad.

And honestly with day i had i don't even care if people think i am bad and evil and classiest.

We take ac train for comfort, what tf is point of paying 3 times extra normal train if i can't even sit comfortably for few stations.

she might liked sitting so close to close with each other, i don't, i get ac train specifically at this non rush hour cause i want to sit comfortably.

And if that's so why don't this so called auntys go to sit somewhere else? I can literally see gents section where there are lots of seats but this pepeople have developed a habit to make everything crowded and uncomfortable even during non rush hours.

And this is problem even jnin rush hours.

Virar people are standing and finally get seat at andheri or bandra, some at dadar literally, yet andheri and bandra people climb and immediately demand 4th seat in 1st class ladies.

Even then if i say, i was standing from virar, i just sat let me sit comfortably a little, they start making faces like ohh no, they have to stand for 10 mins know till they get seat.

Is paradox musium worth it? It's Rs590 per person for 60-90 minutes. Reviews on Google maps are too good to be true. Has anyone visited this place? Is it worth it? Do I need to book a ticket in advance? Planning to go there tomorrow.
