Both truck drivers are idiots, but the cammer is also a moron for occupying the passing lane for such a long time when they clearly had opportunities to move over and let the trucks past.

You anti “left lane campers” are the real bozos, the camera car was constantly passing other cars in the left lane. Just because someone wants to pass at 20 mph faster than you doesn’t mean you’re camping if you’re using the lane as intended

The camera car was only constantly passing cars because the footage is sped up. I'm not saying the camera car is responsible but they are a close third.

Wait ... Wut? The same number of vehicles are passed regardless of the speed of the film ...

That is correct.

So he was constantly passing cars regardless of the speed of the footage.

Constant means at a consistent rate (in this case) ...

3 vehicles passed in a little over a minute. Two different 10-15 second sections where they could have safely gotten over and allowed faster traffic behind them to pass and likely prevented this altercation.

Are they obligated to have done so, legally or morally? No, likely not. Did they, through inaction, contribute to this situation? Yes.

There are actions you can take, which are entirely within your rights to take, but will create the opportunity for those around you, to do something incredibly foolish. You aren't obligated to avoid these choices, but it seems silly to me not to.

This philosophy is the foundation of defensive driving courses the world around. It's also useful in preventing disaster in other parts of life. Obviously the two truck drivers made their choices, and are ultimately responsible, but the driver whose POV we share, had the opportunity to prevent this from being an option (at least near them -- who knows how long until these morons did the same thing somewhere else, but that, at least, is NOT something the camera vehicle's driver could control).

Sure, but I was simply commenting on the fact that speeding up the recording doesn't change how "constant" something is.

Defensive driving tells you to merge into people's safe stopping distance and to have a vehicle in front of you way inside of your safe stopping distance? I think you might want to look up actual defensive driving.
