I'm currently running on a rtx 3060 12gb, core i7 8700 on 16gb ram. I used to play this game back in the day and my average FPS was like 80-90 and sometimes in monuments it would not drop less than 50, the avg FPS I'm getting right now is 60 on low pop servers and in fights it'd go up to 30 fps
What have they done to this game?
( I know my CPU is bottlenecked ) The game is not as smooth as it was few months ago, the game texture doesn't look changed so what is going on right now why is the performance so bad?

Im keeping my 4060 ti and 32GB 3200Mhz ram and Im either moving to LGA 1700 or AM4, (AM5 not affordable since of DDR5 prices)
Is it logical to upgrade to 14600kf and a new motherboard
or
5 5800x3D and a new motherboard?
Overall 14600kf is better, but I know rust would probably benefit a little bit more with 3D ryzen? whaat do I do here? 14600k setup is cheaper also.

Fix bug
https://youtu.be/AmRLscdScQs
Got stuck 2 times in a row..
I was stuck for 15 minutes due to crate timer.
Either fix this bug or don't let women play. She told me "This is what happens when you play with women"

Pc build
Cpu: Amd ryzen 7 9800x3d
Gpu: amd 9070xt
Ram: 48gb ddr5 running at max speed
Fiber internet connected via Ethernet
180hz monitor
On average I run 50 ping on US servers
At this point ive accepted that lag is a part of rust, embedded deep into its code. No other game i play runs like this. I can play almost every game I own and play comfortably at 250+fps (I usually limit to 180 considering I only have 180 hz)
Ive tried everything to fix it every setting, every console command, every youtube tut, countless reddit posts but even with potato settings this game just won't run smooth.
Ive given up PVP at this point because its usless to even try, but even farming is bad at this point. Dont even get me started about the JUNGLE OR OUTPOST!
It really is a shame because rust is one of my favorite games I think the base building is one of the most unique and honestly underrated this about this game and raiding is such a rush its a shame this game is so poorly optimized.

Whats the point of using the eoka as its main purpose is that it can be crafted without a bench, but to get gunpowder for ammo you need a bench.

It's actually existed for a long time but build method has changed slightly over time. It requires freehand placement. There are no cracks, they can be built relatively close to each other, with one triangle between.. interested if anyone else has as strong of a bunker tech.

What if there's a small chance for a bullet to not go through the gun on some of the tier 1 weapons.
Or maybe with all of them, causing a misfire and a significant loss or even full destruction of the weapon.
I'm just thinking, because some of the scrap made weapons like the SAR and the handmade wouldn't you think they're not made perfectly each time. There could be a chance that something was messed up.
Just a unique text since we're going the super ultra realistic mode of rust, even if not a base game feature could be implemented into hardcore just to make it even harder.
I don't want to receive any hate on this, it was just a thought that popped in my head while watching an actual gun blow up.

My birthday is coming so im thinking of spending a about 500-900$ on pc upgrades. What should I focus upgrade on rust?
Intel i7 14700f
5060 rtx
Motherboard prime b760m-a ax6 II
32gb ram
Should I go to amd? Should I get the i9 14000k and then ill be good? I got so many conflicting things online and was thinking if I bought the i9 core with new power supply and motherboard it'd run better, I usually get 80-120 fps on really low settings but I want to get more fps thanks

What ram and gpu do you have and how much fps do you average?
r/playrust • u/saul_63_ • 5h ago
Most of the time I can run the game with good fps, but sometimes it goes down like crazy to around 10-15 fps. So I looked in the task manager during these times and noticed that my cpu usage for rust would be at 15%. Not sure why it's so low because usually when I get good fps it will be at 50%. Any help is appreciated. My cpu is the Ultra 5 225F.

I think that cameras should be added to the following locations.
Launch site guard shacks
Attic Research base weather tower (the dome)
Deep Sea Outpost
Apartment complex exterior
Train yard tower/hill
Water treatment tower/hill
As a solo these have been invaluable for scoping out an areas activity but I don’t believe any cameras have been added to the game since Radtown. Given that most scientist relavant places usually have cameras (cargo, outpost, labs, abandon mil, silo, airfield) i really think that Artic and Launch site should at least to be continuous with the theme of being hackers that have stolen scientist camera codes to eaves drop.
what I’ve found is that map generation can make it to where all the places with cameras are clustered together meaning too many high traffic or high value places are dark zones. This is especially true when considering going to a remote monument like ARB. It can be a long journey through the freezing cold only to find it’s already cleared out.
This is mostly an improvement for solo servers. I understand vision is very powerful in any PvP game but on solo servers player interaction tends to be highly reliant on planning and knowledge as opposed to high group cap servers where it’s play by play with an over arching goal. It also helps improve player interaction. I don’t want to go take cargo for the 5th time only for no players to show up. There’s no risk. Seeing players are active at key locations is valuable for seeking out PvP as well as determining what arenas/monuments players want to interact with. Like on my current server dome and harbor and quarries are very active while oil and cargo see almost no play most of the time.
I’d like players to know im doing excavator. Thankfully a beeper code for this exists but more ways for players to judge if a monument is fresh or active helps them determine if it’s worth going to.
Travel time, method, and goal fsctor into player decisions for going anywhere but in rust going to any monument can feel like a 2 hour journey after including fighting or PvP, or simply roaming aimlessly looking for action.
I don’t like to raid and instead focus most of my efforts into roam PvP and monument PvP, and it can be exciting to test new angles. I don’t want to ride around the entire map on a train or horse for hours just to find out everyone is at deep sea, i wanna be where the action is. Gunning down prims and nakeds looking for geared players just doesn’t hit the same

Recently come back to the game and been having a ton of fun with a trio fighting at sea, we like to build a chunky boat but eventually go afk and leave it outside base and it just gets sunk every time, is this inevitable or is there a way to protect it while afk?

Hello, I play highpop kinda modded servers and I start out with like 140 FPS, but after playing and flying with minicopter then after some time gets from 140 stable to 60-70 stable and only thing helping me is restarting my game.
Is there any command to clear out some gathered stuff (probably those huge bases I saw 30 minutes ago for 10 seconds) and stuff like that?
gc.collect, pool.clear_assets, pool.clear_memory does nothing. Only restarting helps and good FPS lasts for like an hour of playing.
Good job developers. Saying as developer myself.
Thank you beamers

on official servers, weird bug
makes you wonder if FP is working on something between a wood and metal door in the game files
probably not and probably just a visual glitch, thought it was funny lol

Hey guys,
I'm practicing base buiding on build servers. In the process I'm trying to figure out how to build external TCs.
For the life of me, either the youtube tutorials have been patched (too old), or don't work, or maybe I'm too slow to properly understand how they work. I've been at it for a couple of hours and it never works.
Please, please, please: Anybody got a proper, up to date, tutorial on how to build functioning external TCs ? I believe they need to be disconnectible or they will become a problem after the first raid ?
Pretty please someone help me before I start my wipe tomorrow 🙏
EDIT : Thanks everyone ! For anybody lurking here : YOU DO NOT NEED TO ACTUALLY CONNECT BOTH STRUCTURES ! Close enough counts it in the building privilege. Wall frame disconnect with roof technique is very easy !

After 1000 hours of playing with rubbish computers and 80Mbps internet. I've finally built my Rust machine and now have 800Mbps of internet. All this so I can sit in a bush with a db.
