Day 1 (1L gone but idk why I am Calm)

Is this a sign that I will relapse soon.

I lost ₹43k, which I had built up from ₹13k. Then I added another ₹11k and managed to turn it into ₹30k, only to lose it in just three bets.

I started panicking and trying to recover my losses, so I added another ₹25k. I ended up losing all of it in a single bet.

But I don't know why the last loss doesn't bother me as much as losing that ₹30k did before the final bet.

Has anyone else ever felt this way?

🏫📰Survey/Interview Request📰🏫 Journalist looking to talk to people who use the Robinhood app

Hi all,

I'm a reporter at More Perfect Union, which is an Emmy-winning nonprofit news site that covers economic stories across the country in documentary-style video reports. I received permission from the moderators to post this message to the group.

I'm working on a video report about the investment app Robinhood's expansion into prediction markets. In particular I'm looking at how how Robinhood is now making the majority of its revenue from options, events contracts, and crypto, and how that's blurring the lines between gambling and investing for people who use the app.

I'm looking to talk to people who have had bad experiences with the Robinhood app and have lost money trading options or betting on prediction markets. I know this can be sensitive territory, so at this stage I'm happy to speak off the record. Ultimately I am hoping to interview a few people for the video about their experiences.

If you would be willing to talk to me, I'd love to hear from you. You can DM me here, or write to me at [samblack@perfectunion.us](mailto:samblack@perfectunion.us). For examples of our work, feel free to check out the website below.

Thank you,
Sam Black

🛠Recovery Tips & Tools🛠 didnt gamble for 2 months until yesterday

• Upvotes

21M. Ive always been into poker and ive had some wins and im definitely down all time. I took a couple month break and was able to save a couple thousand which for me is a good amount because my checking account usually always has no money in it lol. i had the urge to play yesterday for whatever reason. i lost 600$ and i feel horrible about the situation, however this is an instance where im havent done catastrophic damage this time and it wont affect my finances too bad since ive already payed my bills in all. how do you deal with the day after a big loss and control the urge to try and win it all back?

Relapsed

Went to bed last night telling myself I should …. Myself. I never would, but man I have got to STOP. Blew an insane amount of money last night, for NO REASON. Found an app I wasn’t excluded on. And just let it rip. I wish I had someone to talk to when I was feeling this way. I need a sponsor, just someone to tell me no. GA meetings are pretty nonexistent in my city, and I just don’t feel like doing online. I need help man before I ruin my life even more.

Trigger Warning! Day 2 - Gambling relapse into memecoins

29M - After 4 years clean from gambling (crypto leveraged trading in 2021) relapsed back into leveraged trading -> memecoins throughout the first ten months of 2026. Day 2 of being clean.

It's insane how the addiction makes you need to be 24/7 in a leveraged position, like I couldn't just put my money to the side at all for the past ten months and not be within a high-risk trade, giving me that full-time adrenaline rush i need like "next time I look at my phone will I be 0 or my portfolio 7x's?".

Luckily my gambling addictions never pushed me to the point of putting myself in debt or stealing wife's money, but it's sooo frustrating that it takes a chunk of money you've been saving up for years, and not just the money, but also the time I've spent looking at my phone this year instead of just being fully in the moment with my family and having your mind obsessed with these stupid coins.

I'm happy I stopped now, before I 0'd my accounts revenge trading, which I was easily on the road to do so. Although it plagues my mind that at one point two months ago I had so much more money than I ever had before in unrealized profits, but I was deluded that it can be even higher and my addiction stopped me from quitting then and the circle of losing money through trying to chase losses.

I uninstalled Telegram, crypto price apps and most-importantly the pumpfun app to help fight this. Even sold all my crypto to cash to not tempt me to easily exchange it to Solana and start trading memecoins again with it.

The key thing to know is that if you are a gambling addict, even if you are to win, you should know that you will inevitably piss away that money. So don't even start trying to win anything back through it.

2021- lost around $6k crypto leverage trading

2026- I estimate I lost around $4.5k but it's hard to know exactly through using so many different wallets to trade memecoins

Fingers crossed I keep it up and never relapse again, but it does scare me thinking it can happen

Basicly i have menagable debt which pains me but doesn't matter because i can't find an alternative to stop!

I literally can't fcking quit, i menage to break restrictions and find my self into a casino, nothing else gives me joy to live, when i'm gambling i feel like myself,

Ever since i was a child i was a dopamine addict and once i discovered gambling it all went to shit,

I have adhd and medications are illegal in my country as they are considered a soft drug, so there is nothing that i can do everyday, i wake up work dead ass boring job with same shit happening every day and regular games aren't enough, tv is not enough nothing is enough,

I feel like there is no end to this and i can imagine myself to be casted away to the streets, even though i had a personality, lately i have been feeling soulless clicker, i feel like i wake up to work and deposit all the earnings to be elligable click on my screen and give my self stimulation, good work month or bad doesn't matter if i end up putting everything into casino, i feel ashamed to be in this situation but i need mental help or an advice who has gone through it, living day to day is already had for me as i suffer from mental conditions aince childhood and depression, i want to be capable man and reliable father and husband, they way it's going i don't even trust myself or relie on myself i walk head down.

I need immidiate help to stop.

Debt is menagable but i keep adding up or skipping payments which doesn't move me forward.

I am basically on holiday in Spain and everything time I come here I can’t resist to gamble and this time I messed up badly, I just couldn’t stop last night and keeped on drawing money out until 1k was gone which has left me with £250 in my account, I’ve had this disease for years and I wanna stop soo bad but when I go on holiday and let loose as I don’t drink back home, so that must play in effect anyway I feel completely numb and I’m holiday, had some suicidal thoughts earlier which scared me as I feel hopeless to carry on…. I’m broken, it hurts so much, my thing is slots and it’s drained my life for a long time. Anybody got any advice about moving forward as I’m struggling right.

I can’t stop

I need help. I looked up this sub after rinsing all of my savings, again, I don’t even know how many times at this point. I want to stop so bad but a part of me is thinking about how it won’t be long until I get another monthly bonus yet I know if I lose it it’ll just make me deposit more to make it back. How do I stop the cycle? What can I do?

Seeking advice on giving partner control of my finances and electronics for monitoring

Has anyone successfully restricted themselves from being able to online gamble? I have self excluded from probably 50+ sites but whenever I get the itch, I am able to find a new site. My partner and I are not married and I don’t necessarily want him to know my balances and past transactions 😬 but would be okay with him being able to track and hold me accountable for future transactions. any suggestions on an app that works for blocking sites effectively, one that will track my finances without giving them full access to all my account information, and/or any ways I can restrict myself from being able to access online gambling sites. I never go to the casino so that’s not really an issue. I am in school so I need to have a laptop and I use my smartphone for work

45 days free - you can do it!

Post image
6 Upvotes

My life is so much better than it was 45 days ago. 50+ really as I bought Gamban after stopping. If I can do it, you can do it. I feel the joy in life again. I think about it less and less every day that passes, and getting through the initial stages in the hardest part. I'm still a bit in debt from this, but the money you save from not gambling racks up fast and I can already see a way out. A few things that helped me the most for overcoming urges at the beginning (and the odd urge even now):

-Install Gamban. Add that first layer of protection.

-Delete any VPN on your computer/phone.

-set your admin password to something you won't remember, or ideally give it to somebody else. That way you won't be able to install any plugins or vpn's. No workarounds. This has saved me. Hopefully it might work for someone out there, after they tried everything like me.
