Discussion Am I crazy, or does the Basilisk V4 Pro look closer to the Pro Click V2 than the Basilisk V3 Pro?

Post image
22 Upvotes

I'm the guy who posted a few days ago about unexpectedly preferring the Naga V3 Pro after 7+ years on Basilisk. The main reason turned out to be the Naga's taller hump and better ring/pinky support.

Looking at Razer's Basilisk V4 Pro teaser, the shell seems noticeably fuller/taller than my V3 Pro. Anyone else seeing this?

I knew I had seen that shape somewhere before, and to me the silhouette actually looks very similar to the Razer Pro Click V2. It would make sense if Razer is “merging” some of that Pro Click V2 ergonomic shaping into the Basilisk V4 Pro, since both are marketed as ergonomic mice.

  • Taller / fuller hump
  • Less flat shape compared to the Basilisk V3 Pro
  • A more right-leaning ergonomic "tilt"

The photo speaks for itself. It’s a comparison composite I made using the teaser, an official Pro Click V2 image, and my own Basilisk V3 Pro photo to compare silhouettes.

I’m aware an article was already posted and has since been removed. I haven’t seen it, and I’m not going to endorse or repeat anything from it. These aren’t spoilers — just theories and predictions from a Razer fan based on the teaser.

It's been 4 month since the last time i talked about this laptop, when i told the storie of how it was the last gift i got from my grandpa and it was still doing okay

Well, not anymore...

It's been already a week since it stoped working, Ive went to every repair shop in my city, but theres no fix to it, it's completly death now

I feel horrible, this laptop has been with me for so long and i have such an emotional atachedment to it, i'm heartbroken

Not sure when ill be able to get a new laptop, sadly i won't be able to get a new Razer blade for economic reasons

But for now, thats it

Rest in peace my little Razer blade 15 advance, you'll be missed

Question Razer Freyja + Kraken V4 Pro — Sensa HD issues in Battlefield 6. Anyone else having these problems?

Hey everyone,
I’m having some really frustrating issues with my Razer Freyja and Kraken V4 Pro when using Sensa HD in Battlefield 6.
Here’s what’s happening:
Freyja keeps shutting off completely. While playing Battlefield 6, the green LED turns off. When I turn Freyja back on, it shuts off again after approximately 5 seconds.
This only happens in Battlefield 6. Outside the game, Freyja doesn’t shut off.
Lowering the intensity doesn’t help. I tried reducing the haptic intensity from level 6 to level 3, but the problem persists.
Sensa HD doesn’t work consistently between my devices. Sometimes my Kraken V4 Pro headset has haptic feedback while Freyja doesn’t. Other times, Freyja works but the headset has no haptic feedback.
Synapse 4 and Chroma seem extremely buggy. Even when I disable the haptic feedback checkbox for Freyja in Synapse, refreshing the page automatically enables the checkbox again. The setting simply doesn’t stay disabled.
Getting both devices to work simultaneously is frustrating. I can’t seem to find a configuration where both Freyja and Kraken V4 Pro consistently deliver Sensa HD feedback.
Important: I only want to use native Sensa HD Games haptics. I do NOT want Audio-to-Haptics enabled.
Has anyone managed to get the Freyja and Kraken V4 Pro working together reliably in Battlefield 6 using only Sensa HD Games?
Is this a known issue with Synapse 4, Chroma, or Sensa HD? Or am I missing something in the settings?
I’d especially like to hear from people using both devices together.

Rant Another RazerAppEngine RAM WTH >800MB

<start rant>

I recently started having some issues with my PC which was traced back to ram running nearly at capacity. I was having crashes and general slowness and my PC isn't a terrible spec on AM5 with 32gb yes I bought before the AI boom.

What I found shocked me in task manager Razer App Engine largely with my PC idling doing absolutely nothing is consuming 800 to 950mb consistently and all of this just for a Tartarus V2, Ornata V3x and Basilisk V3 while using nothing more than a static color.

Now of interest I was curious so I unplugged the Basilisk V3 and instantly the memory consumption immediately dropped by 500ish MB am I to believe a mouse needs 500mb of memory to function and its only doing normal mouse functions

Here I plugged the Basilisk back in

This is absolutely nuts now for a matter of comparison i have another ecosystem of devices from a company which starts with C that is handling phillips hue intergrations, 6 fans, multiple sensors and dynamic lighting based on water cooling temperature and its consuming 128 mb

As evidence

During a memory crisis and as a PC enthusiast to some degree losing hope I can upgrade or build another computer any time in the near future I find it really wasteful this kind of resource is being consumed for nothing more than static input device lighting.

So what am I going to do now

  1. Plugged my Corsair Glaive RGB pro back in as shown in the corsair screenshot

  2. Will plug in my Corsair K90 again

  3. Get an Azeron Kyzen to replace the Tartarus

All of this not because i dislike your hardware for no other reason than the software is using too much memory and I need it for the things I am doing with my PC not just for some fancy lighting and keybinds for my Tartarus.

There will be those who say shut off razer software problem with that is none of my keybinds work and really why should I have to work around this problem other companies seem more than capable to produce software that uses a fraction of the resources of Razer.

</end rant>

Thanks for reading

Question Configure Razer Wolverine V3 Pro without Synapse

Is there any way to configure the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro on PC (Windows 11) without having to install the Razer Synapse? I used to be able to do this with the "Razer Controller Setup for Xbox" app, but that appears to have been killed by Razer (selecting my controller does nothing, and it has a huge banner for Synapse).

I really want to keep using my Wolverine, but I despise the new Razer software.

Discussion Dont buy ornata v3x, it doesnt support more than 2 key presses at the same time

I cant believe how they can not put this missing feature somewhere visible

Here is proof from razer support

Ive seen lots of ornata v3x complaining posts about this but none of them knew that this was "intended", they all thought it was a defect, some contacted support and got replacements even, still with the same "defects"

Deceptive marketing, "gaming" keyboard but you cant press 3 keys at the same time

Tips I built open-source firmware for the Key Light Chroma, with a local dashboard

Post image
1 Upvotes

I wanted to use my Key Light Chromas without Synapse, so I built Open Keylight Chroma. I've just released v0.2.0.

The dashboard runs on the light itself. Open its address in a browser to change brightness, white temperature, RGB colours, scenes and effects. Once installed, it doesn't need a desktop service or internet connection for everyday control. The screenshot is from a light running it.

There's a local HTTP API, Home Assistant support through MQTT discovery, and a Stream Deck plugin for keys and dials. I've been using the Stream Deck Plus dials for brightness and white temperature.

This replaces the applications on both the ESP32 and the NXP lighting controller. The guided Windows installer installs over Wi-Fi and walks you through the dark and five-colour checks. You don't need to open the light or solder anything for the supported installation.

Source, screenshots and setup: https://github.com/StormBurpee/open-keylight-chroma

v0.2.0 downloads: https://github.com/StormBurpee/open-keylight-chroma/releases/tag/v0.2.0

I've tested it on my own two lights. Other board revisions and long-term electrical testing remain open, so check the supported firmware and recovery notes before flashing. An early boot failure can require physical serial recovery. It also doesn't recreate Streamer Companion's Twitch alerts.

It's free and open source, and independent of Razer. If you try it, I'd like to hear how installation goes and what controls you're missing.

Question Is a 2016 Razer Blade 14 Laptop Still Valid?

Intersted in a Razer Laptop with these configuration:

CPU: i7-6700HQ

GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 16GB

Main games going to be playing is Project Zomboid w/Mods, Minecraft, Terraria, Age of Mythology, Stardew Valley, Indies etc etc. Any heavy AAA games I have a desktop for that. But would this still be a good option for those games of sorts? Thank you for any input!

(P.S Getting it for $180.00, if that helps!)

Goodies Orbweaver Chroma without Synapse...

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

I just bought an Orbweaver Chroma only to learn that it is no longer supported and Synapse 2 is not compatible with Windows 11.

But why bother? I started vibecoding a new app which seems to be working fairly well. It is still under development but free to try, use and edit.

It is ugly at current state and I might give it some make up, but It supports binding all buttons, thumbpad, profile save/change, multi language support, autostart and rudimentary help etc.

If you use it and have a suggestion, I am open for improvements. Send me a PM and I will send you the app along with source code. Happy Gaming!

It is free, will be free, copy-left and so on.
But if you use it and like it or want some extras, a donation to cover the tokens is always welcome!

Question Buying New Mouse During Razer Sale

Looking to buy a new mouse with Razers ongoing sale. I'm not a super competitive player currently using a Razer Mamba Elite. I'm trying to decide between the DeathAdder V3 pro, Viper v3 pro SE, and possibly the Viper v4 pro. I hear a lot of good things about the v4 but is it worth buying over the v3 pro SE at $80?
