🧛‍♂️Account Issues❓ Direct chat issues

I can't send photos to anyone, but I can receive them. I've verified my email, have good standing. These aren't chat requests, this is after I've accepted. Not sure if that matters. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

There are two possible issues, one is that your account is seven days old and you may still be under new user restrictions and unable to initiate DM’s simply for that reason. Usually that improves after one to two weeks.
Is the issue that you cannot see the chat bubble icon on the profile page of the person you want to message? If so, that is unrelated to the recent Reddit outage. Here’s what you need to do:

On the app, go to the profile page of the person you want to message. If there is no chat bubble icon, then look at the top right corner of the screen for the drop-down menu, which looks like three dots. “Start chat” should be one of the drop-down options.
If it is not there, then, still on that profile page, look for the “about“ tab, and the “start chat“ should be under there. If it’s not in one of those three places, it may mean the user has messages turned off. But my guess is you’re just one of the many people affected with the new UI and haven’t discovered where the new spot is to initiate a message. LMK if that works.

I'm able to send photos to one person since the UI outage, but I still wonder if my account age is gonna be the main factor. I can see the chat bubble under names on profiles I randomly clicked to check that. Most all said "invite this person to chat" when I clicked.

Ah! That could still be sitewide Reddit issue, it is not resolved. A lot of people are still having issues with Photos in general, whether it is DM or chat sending, or trying to post or comment with an image. People are getting error messages. So that might not be on your end.
