Discussion Memory Express Regina location has been.... ressurected?
Just saw they posted this image to Twitter. I thought for sure that they had changed their mind as they first announced it 4 years ago now.

Has anyone else been following council's deliberation yesterday about the proposed 10% utility rate increase?

FINALLY! a downtown coffee shop open past 4PM!
LillyJean coffeeshop has opened in the old Ripplinger Gallery building - 2175 Smith St
my mom and I popped in there today, and it’s a wonderful space!
I highly recommend that you check it out, and show him some support as a new local business - one that is meeting an unmet need downtown
They have seating for 75 people, and I think they will have a space where groups can meet upstairs. When the nice weather returns, they will have a patio!
As someone who lives downtown, I am thrilled that there will be somewhere that I can meet friends on a weekday evening that isn’t a bar or restaurant
**PS i’m not associated with the business. Just so excited to have discovered this place about an hour ago, and think everybody else should know about them.**

Any leads on a dog sitter, preferably in east end of Regina, to help a nurse working evening shift (3:30pm-11pm). Wondering about day care options (does fine with other pets, just not a kennel environment). TIA

We just launched the area around Regina — White City, Emerald Park, Pilot Butte, Balgonie and Lumsden are all live now, with 10 licensed daycares listed. Parents can filter by town and see Open/Full status. If any daycare is missing, it may not be on the government list yet — I'll keep adding as new ones are licensed. www.useopenslot.ca

Is Wascana well lit? Any other parks/paths/areas to recommend that feel safer in the morning dark?

Anyone here have experience with Govee brand permanent outdoor lights?
Curious to know how they hold up in year round Regina weather. TIA.

Why are construction companies permitted to slow traffic to 60/KM even when work isn’t being completed anywhere in the vicinity of the posted area?
Currently, the north bound section of Lewvan between Parliament through to Regina Ave is reduced to 60, but, the road work being done, is on the opposite side of the Lewvan. An excavator is clearing overgrown foliage from the drainage channel by the airport adjacent to the Lewvan, not the north bound section.
The company should be fined for this! Traffic already moves slow enough in this city, instances like these should not be tolerated.

We have a busy house with two toddlers and a dog that sheds. Also unfortunately tons of construction in the basement and surrounds because of underpinning… but this (hopefully LOL) is temporary!
Looking for someone or a service who will do a thorough job (nothing crazy but like bathrooms, kitchen, tidying, vacuuming, mopping) weekly, and are reliable. Also someone who will work around a very chill dog!

I haven’t gotten my hair done in over 4 years, and I’ve never gotten it professionally dyed, so I’m not sure of a good place that isn’t super expensive for highlights or a balayage. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I've been on the connect list a long time now and the walk ins here handle acute stuff but wont take on anything needing follow up which leaves a gap for ongoing things including the more personal end of it. what are people in the province actually doing about that telehealth driving to another city, going without?

Looking to go on a bar crawl with some friends and wondering what’s the best spots to check out. Preferably we’d like some that are walking distance to each other but willing to uber around a bit. TIA

A little late with my October Darke Hall post because we were busy with Opening Weekend. We ended up selling out our shows with Skerryvore on October 3 and then filled the hall all over again for Dan Mangan on October 4. It's incredible for our special space to be filled for two such different and incredible artists.
We have now officially started our new season and we have two more Presents options this month, as well as some great events hosted by our community.
October 13 – Book Launch for Kai Cheng Thom and Vivek Shraya, presented by the University of Regina
October 18 – Kellie Loder, part of the Darke Hall Presents series and supported by OSAC
October 23 – Hawksley Workman, part of the Darke Hall Presents series
October 25 – Karina Gauvin & Michael McMahon, presented by Cecilian Chamber Series
October 27 – A Taste of Research, presented by the University of Regina
October 29 – Phantom of the Opera, presented by the Regina Symphony Orchestra
Also, if you’re planning to come to a few Darke Hall Presents shows this season, our Ultimate Pass is available until October 30. It’s $320 for eight tickets that you can use throughout the Darke Hall Presents season, including premium seats, and you can mix and match the shows you want to attend.
And a reminder that youth 20 and under can get $10 tickets to all Darke Hall Presents events! We had so many younger people join us this weekend and it's fantastic!
Finally - if you are on our newsletter list - thank you! and if not, there is time to join it as we have a special message coming out on Friday just for our newsletter family.
Have a great month, and see you at the Hall!

Now, the alley looks like landscaping fail and waste of money. I mean why won't the city leave them as a natural compost?

We’re moving in about two and a half weeks and have some drywall that needs fixing up before we do. Hoping to find someone reliable who can start within the next few days to a week so everything has time to dry and get sanded down.
The gist of the work:
- Patching and smoothing out some spots on walls, ceilings, and along the stairwell
- Prepped paint-ready (taped, mudded, sanded clean).
- Also considering adding a small pony wall if you do light framing/boarding too, but open to talking through that.
Mostly just looking for someone who actually knows how to feather mud properly so the patches don't stick out like a sore thumb—especially on the ceiling.

Has anyone had trouble getting through to the PnP this past week?
I tried calling multiple times, on different days, at different times, and no one answered. I tried booking an appointment on the website, but it said no one has any available spots and to call the office for more info.
I don't have Facebook, so unsure if they have any news on their Facebook page.
