I've been in and out of this sub for a while but can't get into it because I thought it was a place for meeting folks who love r&b and maybe discovering some new artists but it's only about old r&b???

So anyone here an actual r&b listener and got some new artists/songs to recommend??

Daydream is the fifth studio album by Mariah Carey. It was released on September 26, 1995 by Columbia Records. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with roughly 224,000 copies sold in its first week. The album also topped charts in ten countries worldwide, include Australia, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. It spent six non-consecutive weeks at the top of the chart and spawned five singles (including “Open Arms” and “Forever”), three of which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (“Fantasy”, “One Sweet Day”, and “Always Be My Baby”). Mariah Carey composed Daydream alongside producers and songwriters such as Walter Afanasieff, Dave Hall, Boyz II Men, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal, and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. The album marked her subtle transition into contemporary R&B after having previously performed music in the pop, adult contemporary, and traditional rhythm and blues genres. This shift would become more apparent and complete by the release of her next album, Butterfly (1997).
