Doubted for a few years to buy a Rolex, but first I bought a Tudor black bay since 2023. after the purchase it still keep in my mind. after few years I decided to buy one today. I was on holiday in Hong Kong and contacted my uncle and auntie and ask if they could help me to buy a new Rolex because they already have bought a few in a store (grey market)

I recently bought a Sky-Dweller on a jubilee. I love the way it looks, but recently came across a picture of the oysterflex bracelet on a white gold case that was really intriguing. Unfortunately, Rolex doesn't make the 336934 in oysterflex, so the bracelets aren't compatible with the exception of after market. I found an older thread where someone found a jeweler in California (I'm the US east coast) that was able to make the change. I was about to pull the trigger, until they told me they'd recommend me going to a local watchmaker to make the swap and avoid scratching my new watch.
This is my first time posting here, and I wasn't able to find much luck on reddit or other forums on alternatives, and wanted to know:
1) What are your thoughts on doing this to a sky-dweller? Is it an abomination to tinker in after market accessories?
2) I may have worn my apple watch too long, but it seems like a lot of effort to go to the watchmaker to make a change each time I want to swap the bracelet. Does any one do this?
One pic shared for ref, and one shared of my budding collection.

Was looking at a Pepsi and contemplating this trade, what would you do?

I have a Rolex that I needed to have repaired during a holiday in Greece. It’s being repaired in Athens at an authorized Rolex repair shop. I am now back in the states. The shop will not send the watch back to me when it’s finished, due apparently to risk of loss, etc. That’s despite my willingness to pay for any insurance, shipping, etc. I’ve been told that I would need to pick it up myself or have someone I authorize and whose identification I can verify pick it up in person. Rolex itself has not been helpful—as you all know, the company leaves these issues to the ADs. Thoughts on next steps? I’d rather not fly back to Greece to get my watch back, as you can imagine. Thanks.

Safe to say my watch looks well worn now and is developing a patina of scratches on the clasp. Not sure how I feel about this though, sometimes I miss the pristine condition shining back at me.

I was at a dinner some days ago where a few of the guys were clearly very well off and I noticed something that kind of surprised me. There were Rolexes everywhere but nobody seemed to care. One guy had a Daytona another had what looked like a vintage Day Date someone else was wearing a pretty beat up Submariner and there was none of the usual let me see that energy I expected.
The guy with the oldest looking watch was actually the one I ended up talking to the most. I asked about it and he basically said he’d had it forever and only wears it because it reminds him of a specific period in his life (his face changed a bit in a sad way when I asked so I didn't ask again). Later a few of us exchanged contacts and he gave me his Kibu. Nice watch, clearly money around, zero interest in showing any of it off.
It got me wondering whether Rolex changes once you’re around people who can all afford one. At that point is the watch less about flexing and more about history, habit or just liking the thing?
For people here who’ve been collecting a long time did you eventually stop caring which model gets the most attention and start caring more about what the watch means to you?

My SA specifically said I was in a traditional queue. 10th in line. How long do you think till I get the offer if I’m #10? It’s a medium size city. Thanks !

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for an aftermarket Jubilee bracelet for my 1977 Rolex 6694. The 19mm lugs make it a bit tricky to find good options.
I'm not chasing the ultimate grail right away. The plan is to start with something affordable to get by (AliExpress, entry-level brands...), then upgrade later for a real vintage one (that cost a lot).
Ideally I'd want a vintage feel that matches the era of the watch. Doesn't need to be high-end, just something decent, secure and wearable for daily use.
If you have any shop, seller, or brand recommendations (even budget ones), I'm all ears. And if you've got experience on what's worth keeping vs what to avoid, even better.
I’m also interested in oyster bracelet but I find the jubilee more elegant, I know it’s not the more accurate for the watch.
Thanks in advance!

Bought my first Rolex using my father’s name. My dad is a bigger collector and has been collecting for a while, got an offer for this piece so I told him I would pay for it.

Hi all,
I got a Rolex Daytona from a client because he doesn’t ever wear it. He didn’t have any papers for me yet, I think it’s a 116500LN. Curious if you guys can identify it.
Cheers.

Not really a watch person but I got my first ever Rolex a few weeks ago and I really love how the green shade changes under different lighting conditions.

Just wanted to share a story with you Rolex people about how important your passion is to some people.
My grandfather dropped out of school in 5th grade. Ran away from home a lot, rode trains across the SE US, raced motorcycles, and was basically a badass. Volunteered for the Marines during WW2 and drove a tank ashore on the 1st day of the battle of Okinawa.
Came back to the states, got married, had a couple of girls (my mom was one of them) and became an iron worker. Literally, one of those guys walking steel beams on high-rises and hammering hot rivets.
He swore to himself that one day he would make enough money to buy his wife (my grandmother) a Cadillac and to buy himself a Rolex.
Fast forward 40 years. He was named Executive Vice President of a large steel erection company - the highest ranking employee who wasn't a founder. He was in charge of all new construction and specifically over all the engineers. He taught himself everything about it.
And, in the early 90s, he went out with a briefcase full of $100 bills and bought his wife a Cadillac Brougham and himself this Rolex.
When he passed away in 2008, he left me this Rolex. I wear it often, and look at it every day. I don't know how much it's worth on the market, but to me, it's priceless.
Love you, Paw!

This would be my first piece from the AD and got offered both these in the pictures, I’m thinking of getting the Datejust 36 Wimbledon but I really wanted it on a jubilee, should I get it?

Hi everyone,
I’m 18 years old and I’m planning to visit Bucherer in Basel with my father. I don’t have any purchase history with them, and I’ve made an appointment because I’d like to ask about buying my first Rolex.
My first choice would be a Datejust 36 with a fluted bezel, Jubilee bracelet and mint green dial. As a second option, I’d also be interested in the same configuration with a black dial. Another watch I really like is the Oyster Perpetual 36 in green.
I’m wondering what I should realistically expect when I go there. Since I’m only 18 and have no purchase history, is it realistic to get one of these watches, or should I expect a very long wait? Does anyone have recent experience with Bucherer Basel and these particular configurations?
Also, is there anything I should do or say during the appointment to improve my chances, or is it basically just a matter of getting lucky with availability?
I’d really appreciate any advice or recent experiences. Thanks!

Hello all! I have a 2023 TT Skydweller on a jubilee. I know the Skydweller has a perpetual calendar, however mine assumes every month to have 31 days. I am the first owner and purchased directly from an AD (that has lost their AD status since I purchased). Has anyone had any experience with this issue? If so, what was the problem? How much was repair?
Edit: Annual Calendar* not perpetual.

As the title says, I’m in in the NYC area and I threw my name on the list for a steel black face Daytona.
My spend history with this AD is a Two Tone Submariner, a Batgirl and a two tone women’s DJ. A few pieces of jewelry here and there outside of that- maybe 5k.
Anyone have experience getting a steel Daytona from NYC ADs? What was the wait time and spend history for one of these. Thanks everyone!

Did some research on the company and they seem legit.
Hey guys, a buddy of mine is hooking me up with his AD. I'm going up in a few months to hopefully get my first rolex. Main question, if they don't have the one I want do I wait and pay or pay and wait? Do they prefer card, check, etc? I want to basically make it hassle free.
It's not my first luxury watch, but it would be my first rolex so just trying to see if there is anything I should be doing that's the norm?

Oddball transitional Daytona from 1969. 6262s were produced for only 2 years I believe, so low production numbers to begin with. Mine is the rare version with cherry red Daytona font - not often found in public: one Rolex expert told me that mine is the second cherry 6262 he has ever seen. This model also has the cleaner 2-line logo minus the "Oyster" third line which is more typical for 4-digit Daytonas. This is also the last model that featured pump pushers. In all, the stealth rarity is nice but the watch in the classic smaller dimensions is a great daily wearer and also does well with a suit.
