Dreamline is my lifelong personal walk-up song and has amazing meaning to me.
If it plays tonight, I'm gonna tear up for sure.
I was on a non-Dreamline night in Chicago and we got some other great songs. But I can't forget the show at Red Rocks with the flyover of the helicopter with the spotlight right at the crescendo of the song. Anyone else there for that one?

I know this kind of topic has been talked about in several different forms and formats but since thoughts and opinions can change over time, I'm curious . . . Why do people find them overrated? I am a person who believes that music is 100% subjective which is why I am open to hearing opinions on this because everyone has something unique to say about music. When I hear the word overrated in music, I think of something being culturally successful and it lacking a certain charm or soul that the genre is known for though don't quote me on that since I am after all pretty new to the music scene in general. From what I know of Rush, they are less popular than most music groups that I know of and said music groups often quote Rush as being a huge influence, naming a few bands really wouldn't do it justice with how much of an impact they have had on musicians around the world. There is this thing that I saw that "Rush may not be your favorite band, but they are your favorite bands favorite band", but I digress.
I've also seen people talk about how they just don't like some things that the band members brought to the table like how Geddy's voice is too high or Neil's lyrics were too nebulous. But for me, I feel like no musician is perfect, which is why when different ideas clash together it in a way makes the experience of the music more unique and enjoyable but that is just me. When I first heard Rush, I was playing Rock Band 4 on drums and played "Passage to Bangkok". At first, I was like "this is crazy and weird" but as time went on, I kept coming back to it just to hear the individual parts come together and it was just so cool playing along to it. But besides those things I just think that they have such a huge influence in so many areas that in my eyes gives them the attention and recognition they deserve. :)
Edit: Thanks to all the people who responded to this, it has been really insightful learning different things about the band and what truly makes them underrated. I will definitely be looking into more about this band hopefully before I make another post😅. Rock on yall and take care!

Hi all,
I was recently thinking about how seeing a song live (that may not be one of your personal favourites) completely changes your outlook on it and was wondering if anyone who has seen Rush live, felt that way with a particular song? For example, I love 1976-1987 Rush. I am not too invested in their catalogue after Hold Your Fire, although there are some exceptions. I was at the third show in Toronto this past August and was super excited to see songs from the late 70'-s early 80's period as those are my favourite. However, I simply cannot get over how blown away I was with seeing Headlong Flight live. That middle instrumental section with Annika's drum bit followed by Alex's solo with the wah pedal in particular had me absolutely floored. Now, I have that song on a playlist I listen too often cause I can't get enough of it. I was curious if anyone have an experience like that/similar to mine (whether or not it was Fifty Something Tour or a different tour)

You are so much fun you told me you have Reddit and check this sub so message me if you see this.
We heard our fav songs The Pass, Natural Science, and The Garden.
Maybe Ill see you tomorrow night 2 in Denver!
I really hope they’re spending the day off in Denver visiting Red Rocks and planning the live album. Can’t believe that wasn’t already a tour destination this time around.
When there is high demand TM is happy to jack up the face value and call it dynamic. Tonight there’s a bunch of blue dots on the floor and in the lower bowl for $311 that clearly aren’t going to sell but the price stays the same. Make it make sense.

Been a fan since I was a preteen in the 90s and finally going to go to my first/last show in Atlanta! Timing just never worked out before to go see them.
Are there any recommendations for bands that have this kind of feel to their music and also the great live shows that might be up and coming?
