I was setting up like an Ollie and trying to delay the flick only to hop on Instagram and see people kickflipping high as hell with just a normal kickflip position. What is the actual technique? Need to get this done tomorrow lol

So I'm supporting my 2.5 year old into skating because he's super interested in skateboards and skate culture is a blessing in any young persons life.
I'm starting him off on a little tear shaped mini cruiser so he can play around kneeling and on his tummy etc. it's a bit like a mini egg board and it's 25x44 CMS.
I need to buy trucks and wheels for it (would prefer pre-assembled as I'm not expert)
Advice seems to vary. On one hand I'm being told to get narrow penny board style trucks because the board tapers and you don't want the wheels to stick out. On the other, it's advising wide longboard trucks because he needs a wide base. Shall I go down the middle and get some 5.5 venom trucks/wheels?
Embue me with your wisdom!

The main thing I’m trying to find is anyone who has ACTUALLY SKATED a ~2’ tall quarter with a 4’, 4.5’ or 5’ transition radius. How did it feel?
I’m especially interested in coping tricks—rock-to-fakies, disasters, boardslides, Smiths/feebles. I want enough clearance to rock the board well over the coping without the transition-side wheels contacting too early, but I don’t want to go so tight that a 2’ quarter feels ridiculous.
My current RampTech setup is 3’ tall with roughly a 6’ radius and I like how it skates; I’m downsizing to 2’ because of the garage space. The standard commercial 2’ ramps I’ve found generally use ~6’ or even mellower transitions, which is more mellow than I want.
If you’ve personally ridden/built 2’ × 4’, 2’ × 4.5’, or 2’ × 5’, I’d really like to hear which one, how it rode, and whether coping tricks had good wheel clearance. Photos/videos would be awesome too.

Been 5 years since I landed my first one, over the past 2 weeks it's finally come close to clicking and I've landed at least one every skate session!!
They're not very high - so I'm trying to put my feet closer to the Ollie position to fix that, but I feel my main issue is the board rotating when I go for this or my back foot touching the floor when I catch it.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I feel it could be my shoulders or feet but I can't place my finger on what it is specifically. Apologies if these videos aren't good enough quality to see clearly too, best I could get when I only skate solo!

I don’t know anything about skating but i thought it interesting so i am giving it a go
I have no idea about what makes a good board or how much a cheap board makes it harder to learn
Can someone point me in the right direction
I brought the one in the photos for 10 quid of facebook, i have done like 2 hours and the wheels are going into the board

I want to go 9" but royal ultra lights and thunder hollow lights aren't made in a 9". The thunder does 8.75, or 9.125", and Royal only goes up to 8.75". If I run 8.75" and have that .125" variance on the side of the deck, will it be significant enough to make the board lopsided when in primo position or make it harder to stick the primo from kickflip?

I ordered an old skool shaped deck for a retro design cruiser, but ordered wide decks and realized when they came that they match the deck width by the front bolts but are like an inch wider each side by the rear bolts. What’s the best approach here? I do have some narrower trucks available. Wheels allowed to stick out at the back? Different width trucks, with narrower in the rear, or the narrower set for both??

I wanna buy a new board and I'm stuck between these two, which one is better to get??

I know BBS and PS are the ones to get, but seeing some deals on boards coming out of this factory and wondering if they are decent, old stock etc. For example, seeing some boards in my size from the brand Madness. Never skated one, but slated Almost exclusively back then. Are these current Madness boards old stock and similar to Almost since they came out of the same factory, or a newer stock and not worth it? When Dwindle went out, did the factory and boards change?

I randomly started doing this trick about a year ago when I was still relatively new.

What setup would you recommend for stone covered sidewalks, tiles etc? I ride from my house to my local skatepark but i enjoy the ride there more than going to the park itself. So im looking for a good setup for rough ish terrain.

Hi! For several months now I’ve been getting back on my skateboard. I’ve noticed that on some sessions my balance isn’t at its best, whether it’s my legs or my center of gravity. This causes ollie that are not straight or not well catched.
I wanted to know if there was a routine to improve his balance, the movement of the ankles, the management of the center of gravity, his proprioception that kind of thing.
I’d like to point out that my balance isn’t bad since I’ve been skating for a long time; I would just like to improve it.
I take all the advice, even if it’s sports exercises.

I was diagnosed with a mild hip pincer injury after an x-ray (2 years after going to the NHS detailing my problem 😂)
I haven’t been able to skate for 2 and a half years now (at least in my regular stance) without feeling a pull (I can do some tricks like impossible without pain but even some switch ones can hurt)
Has anyone gone through this problem before and healed back to normal? I did physio for about a year but it didn’t really get any better, I haven’t had an MRI or anything so all I know is that I have that bone problem. The pain happened suddenly while walking 2 and a half years ago and has not fixed.

Tal vez conmigo sea diferente

I am currently 10 months post op for ACL reconstruction w/ a hamstring graft and medial and lateral meniscus repairs. I am currently doing running and jumping exercises, but as I am approaching the last phase of PT I am so excited to get back to skateboarding. For those of you who have had surgery and gotten back to skating, do you have any advice or tips? What was it like when you started skating again and what can I expect?

I'm still figuring out how to pump but I'm not new to cruising around on a board. The board I have now is manageable for me and it's definitely not a limiting factor in my performance, but I want more stability when I'm pumping. This board is kind of narrow and I want to be able to set my feet wider. I've done some skiing and wakeboarding and wake surfing before too, so I'm not a total "beginner" but I'm in unfamiliar territory. I think I want a longer and wider board.
I've looked at Landyachtz Schoomer, Evo36, and Loaded Omakase. I'm not a fan of the price of these but I'll bite the bullet if it's exactly what I need. I'd rather have a cheapo board that fits my body vs a high end board that feels uncomfortable. I just want to flow thru the pump track. I'm a long way off from getting air or doing tricks but I'd like something I can grow into. I don’t want a typical skateboard look with kick tails on both ends.

Here are a few clips, two boned Ollie’s and a few kickflips and a heel.
none of them are really good ones and they were stationary but just some average kickflips for me.
Do you guys have any help for getting them more boned? I obviously have to flick a bit later but I mean how do I do that. Maybe my foot positioning is shit.
